Transom Saver Install - Lowe Skorpion - Mercury 30 HP 4 Stroke

Installation of an Attwood Transom Saver on my Lowe Skorpion 16 Bass Boat with a Mercury 30HP 4 stroke outboard. I purchased this to elevate the motor during transport without damaging the hydraulics. Without it, the motor sits less than a foot above the ground and I really do not want to scrape the bottom of the motor on the concrete.

It actually should be down on the lower unit(area between the cavitation plate and the propeller) for proper support.

I ended up extending the mount out to the next setting and that’s where I have it mounted now. I noticed a lot of boats at the boat launch had it that way so I went with the new setting

What size drill bit did you use for the hole?

Does it drag the ground when you pull out of ramp from putting boat in?

I’m sure he takes it off when launching.
