why haven't I see a guide on the hunters journal artifact yet? also I never saw a good guide on weapon loadouts for the starter quest. It may be a bit late but some people are still struggling with it
For a supposed 'crucible banned weapon' that has an edgy and evil sounding name, this version of Red Death sure acts more like a kind selfless, supportive type tool for healing others especially with the catalyst. To be fair, you have to kill others for it to do so and seems REALLY good at it, but yeah.
@@henri2140 this one has been made to not be so evil. The last one like, sucked the light out of a guardian to heal you, and would accidentally perma kill gaurdians in crucible righrM
Surprised i havent seen anyone mention red death has auto rifle recoil just like outbreak. You can tell because autos are the only weapons to have less recoil when you crouch, and both exotic pulses are the only non autos to do so. Also to note it did have its archetype changed from a 340 to a 390 in d1, but when that happened it could still 2 burst due to d1 barrels granting damage. So this was actually a buff until these barrels were nerfed in taken king.
Raid Shadow Legends has to be the biggest money laundring scheme in history or something. How the hell do they get so much money to be sponsoring so many content creators and videos? Crazy stuff
P2W mobile games have very little overhead and tons of whales desperate to pretend their lives matter by dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars in the developer's laps. It's honestly disgusting.
My favourite part of Red Death is how it encourages the player to take fights. Just took a fight? Get healed and buffed to take another fight. It rewards constantly finding someone to shoot in a way other guns just can't.
Seeing Red Death get a 100% guarantee heal on kill, get improved stats just on any hits, and heal allies when reloading really makes me feel bad for something like Suros Regime and the fact that it just has a "chance" to heal on kill and does nothing besides having 2 firing modes, and built in high-impact reserves
I love how they incorporated all of Red Death’s selectable perks from D1 into Imverse Relationship. Movement speed from Single Point Sling, handling from Snapshot, extra damage from the selectable barrels, as well as Unflinching and High Cal. My top 2 exotics ever, and they really did this one justice
I think the way to tune this thing would be to hit high impact pulses as an archetype. 0.67 is way out of band for primaries of that engagement space. The only other things that can hit that ttk are sidearms and smgs that require to to be close up. No other medium range primary can realistically compete in a duel against a high impact pulse
Problem is that its all crits for a 2 burst. A Bungie dev, Mercules even mentioned that on PC that is easier to hit, but on console, not so much. That's why they were not touching NTTE damage because yes it hits its potential more on PC, on console it didn't happen that much.
I suspect both Khvostov and Red Death have Zen Moment baked into their scope, the same way the Ikelos SMG did. Big deal with the new flinch system turning every weapon into Hand Cannon flinch, and probably something to be nerfed in the future.
Used this through the legend campaign and have not really taken it off. I love it. Gives me made nostalgia! Missd this beast. Glad it's back in my toolkit!
Red death and thorn were my favorite exotics in d1, and when neither were in base d2 i was so mad. Then we got CRIMSON? the wannabe that always felt like ass to me. It feels good to have this baby back
I'm sure u had fun getting thorn again too. I loved the callbacks in that quest, plus the void hc kills was too easy(I had a curated kindled orchid lol)
I think my favorite part of this reprisal, is that it has all the perks from the original and some. Its got unflinching, healing, and the built in feeding frenzy. If that wasn't enough, its got all of the middle perks as well; high cal, single point sling, and snapshot so long as you deal damage.
I've been hoping for this weapon to make a comeback for a long time! It's been my favorite weapon since Destiny 1 and now that I've tried it in Destiny 2 I'm happy that it didn't disappoint me. Imagine using this thing with a healing-focused hunter build, with healing bombs and even the Wormhusk Crown. I can heal myself via grenade, via dodge and via red death kills. Absurd!
I won't lie between this gun and khovostov I have never felt like the skill floor in duels in destiny has ever been lower. Two super easy to use guns that 90% of your average players can obtain VERY EASILY. That play the game for them. Not a big fan of these exotics from a balance point. Hope they can balance them but I fear for the crucible if they don't.
My issue with red death is simply it takes a light off of weapons that have been hilariously unbalanced for years but always get the pass for nerfs because of seasonal mods and other weapon buffs getting them more playtime. But low and behold when you start winning with something off meta if they aren't running something like conditional or a precision shotty with igneous or the usual suspect 140s magicly ace and crimson + beloved comes out. Like you can pretend these weapons aren't a problem because you're seeing other stuff right now but they're always there. Like smgs as a whole got multiple nerfs because a few aggressives were out of band, bows got murdered because monarch and wish ender where everywhere: people are still using them both almost exclusively and as a bow player I see people rageswap to monarch ALL THE TIME. Idc if exotics come out strong but you can't bring out exotics that are strong and easy to use because of perks similar to weapons that get talked over because the community is whining about something else or weapons that got nerfed into the ground for being good at what they do and expect people who watch the sandbox closely to just think it's ok. This is why alot of people are complaining about pathfinder rn. They don't want to touch crucible or gambit with a 100ft pole because the balance in them is borderline nonexistent and there's always a new boogie man of OP legendary or OP exotic
oh boy i think i just came up with a silly titan strand build idea, banner of war/into the fray aspects+precious scars+red death=40%dmg reduction from woven mail+healing from precious scars+healing from banner of war+healing from red death, the only thing that would make it better i think is if red death could get osmosis so that after casting your grenade ability the red death turned into a strand gun so that it could synergise with strand fragments like the one that creates threadlings.
This was probably my favorite exotic from D1. Checked every single week at xur to see if he was selling it, and I couldn’t put it down when I finally got it. I do kinda wish this was still a kinetic weapon, but I’m so glad it’s back.
I’ve been maining Prismatic Warlock with Devour since the launch of the DLC, so I haven’t really used Red Death much cuz it’s kinda made redundant by Devour and normal heal clip weapons are better because you can stagger when you choose to be healed. If I move back to my solar Warlock set up, I’ll probably end up using it a lot more.
I don’t love the feel of it in pve, but that and the call 100% helped carry through legend campaign on two characters, potentially even my third depending how the devour build feels
This gun saved my ass in pve as they made enemies hit harder making your health so paper like it's going like crap through a goose....plus killing hive with it is fun it's like a roided out crimson but way better.

I just feel sad for Crimson. Red Death does everything it could do and more. Since Red Death also dips into light key words, it has synergies with our subclasses that Crimson does not. With the changes to the PvE sand box, where they made everything hit harder, I have been using the new Red Death as a crutch. Reminds me of how Crimson was used during the first Solstice event, with the harder reprised missions, to stay alive. I wonder if Bungie will ever buff older exotics like Crimson, or will they just let them fade into uselessness?
Not only is Red Death outstanding in PvP, it's a godsend for difficult PvE content even pre-catalyst. Healing on kill at a good distance without reloading is something to crutch hard on. Pair it with Devour or Ember of Tempering + Ember of Mercy, and you're probably invincible as long as you get kills.
Crazy to me that there are some people that know it as the Redrix scope and not the D1 vanilla common weapon iron sights lol. Some of my favorites in the whole franchise, glad to see them return here on one of my favorite D1 guns
as much as it pains to say this, i was never a big fan of red dead in d1, that being said, the one in d2 surprised me GREATLY it feels really good when you do damage and it has your back with the heals, doesn't have penalties of any type for switching around and as is solar you can use some of the fragments, it gonna get nerfed to the ground fs
The only thing I remotely don't like about Red Death is that it's a pulse rifle that uses an auto rifle's model. And even then that's fine because I use the M16 in CoD and run lobbies with it and a vest that heals me after a kill. It's almost the same thing. I think if I sit down and play Crucible again, I'm going to pack Red Death. It's just a gun that's too cool to rot in my vault.
Red Death feels amazing and I love it, it's just that Khovostov is just even more juiced tbh. Even within Red Deaths range if I didnt 2 burst there was a good chance Khowostov would kill me before I could get a third burst eventhough that should be way out of its range
The ONLY thing i have an issue with is that its a solar energy weapon. My transcendance bar in pvp doesnt fill as evenly/fast compared to just using a kinetic primary. Might need to use a dark kinetic and heavy weapons to counteract.
OK, so after getting back on finally after a lousy 3 week hold. I am shook that the red death is back, and its back to doing absolute damage in pvp. I have been using my speedloader slacks and TLW for braindead use, and it carries. But this, this is gonna be like free kd all over again, 😊
One of the few weapons in the game that felt so good it felt.. wrong. Like on paper and in action its like the best gun in the game but it just didn't feel right to use
I am heavily biased, but PvE-wise, red death absolutely SLAPS with the stag. I ran it with a prismatic hellion build and basically had 100% hellion uptime.
I know this is a Red Death vid but can I just say how disappointed I am in the Microcosm. It doesnt feel the greatest to shoot, has a very small mag, and doesnt really hit that hard so other than the buffs you get from the supers im struggling to see what is so great about the new Heavy Trace Exotic that solo players had to delve into the far reaches of hell to retrieve.
Red Death is absurd. Ran into it so many times in 3s playlists and after every kill, the player could just shred and slay all of us 1 man army. Unkillable. For sure its gonna get a nerf. With all the downsides of being a high impact pulse being negated by its perks, its the best weapon in the pvp sandbox bar none with the short ttk and instant heal on a kill.
Both this thing and Khvostov need to be looked at. Neither one of them is capable of recoil or missing shots. They are so far above every other weapon that there is almost no reason to run anything else
What have they done? They brought it back! I mained this shit in D1. It was amazing then its amazing now. Just wait till they bring icebreaker back too
Absurd is right. I would argue that high impact pulses are already OP (an archetype with extremely high range and a faster ttk at neutral than the competition shouldn't be a thing imo) but all that plus healing and all the rest of the bonuses you showed off in this video is insane. I hope the whole archetype catches a nerf of some kind soon and not just Red Death. This situation reminds me of the Hardlight / 600rpm meta from years back, where Hardlight got all the attention and nerfs when the problem was all 600rpm Autos not just Hardlight and they didn't catch a nerf till like 9 months later. I know high impact pulses aren't as popular as those autos were back then but still I find them very frustrating to go against
The sights really throw me off for some reason, not sure why. It's taking me much longer to consistently get two bursts. Maybe it's the posts on the left and right? Edit: That doesn't make it bad, I haven't had a game under a 2.0 KAD since I started using it. xD
Honestly not really hyped about this gun in PvE. The fact it fires so slow and doesn't have something like incandescent to go along with the cure is criminally useless to me. It's the god roll combo of heal clip + incandescent that does it for me on a solar primary. Without that it's just a slow clunky pulse rifle with cure.

yeah the flinch buff ruined me, why cant every other weapon feel like that when getting shot
I know high impact pulses aren't as popular as those autos were back then but still I find them very frustrating to go against
You’re the best brother
My favourite then it’s my favourite now
Now the real question is how do you OUTDUEL this thing
The sights really throw me off for some reason, not sure why. It's taking me much longer to consistently get two bursts. Maybe it's the posts on the left and right?
Edit: That doesn't make it bad, I haven't had a game under a 2.0 KAD since I started using it. xD
Lumina officially powercrept Sadge
No doubt it's an amazing weapon, but there is something about it I just don't like and I couldn't tell you what it is lol.
Catty shouldve just been incandescent
Red Death feels like home 🏡
"is not that they weren't trying in comp"
Sentinel titan on the other team.
Messenger has 60 recoil direction not 85
3:14 ad reads shouldnt be 1/5 of your entire runtime
I love Red Death. Wish I was a better PVP player. Lol
there was a reason they banned this thing in lore
Honestly not really hyped about this gun in PvE. The fact it fires so slow and doesn't have something like incandescent to go along with the cure is criminally useless to me. It's the god roll combo of heal clip + incandescent that does it for me on a solar primary. Without that it's just a slow clunky pulse rifle with cure.
It's very strong in PvE, but I prefer Adhortative solely for Incandescent. The Red Death Reformed catalyst could be a game-changer, though. 👀
