Please don't consider yourself a "foreigner" anymore guys, you are one of us now. The amount of effort and passion in learning Malaysia is how you guys touch our heart.
We believe respect is earned both ways. The way you guys respect us as a country with all types of diversities and differences made you more Malaysians than some of us. You are Malaysian with a foreign passport, that's it 😂
Cheers bang Jimmy and kak ichang, see you around for a long long time in Malaysia, hope to see your first baby born in Malaysia too hihihi 🥰❤🎉
Love both of your sense of style in dressing👍…beautiful batik and looks very good 😍.
Enjoy Malaysia and don’t be scared to venture to small towns around our country.
Thank you very much, iChang, for the meaningful and beneficial video. As a language and Malay language and cultural instructor in America, the DEAI concept (Diversity, Equality, Accessibility, and Inclusiveness) has recently become a hot topic in our institutions. Coming from Malaysia, known for its diverse population, this concept wasn't a priority there. Despite our shortcomings, Malaysian society is generally friendly and hospitable, unlike the more reserved nature and individualism in America. Your insights on high communication skills and minimalism resonate, making Malaysians approachable. Your explanation about Malaysian people gives me ideas on conveying the true meaning of DEAI to my American students. I'm excited and grateful. 🙏 Hoping you stay in Malaysia longer and create more videos to help Malaysians understand and appreciate their uniqueness. Thank you.
video dier org sebelum ni ttg cultural shock di Malaysia pun idea bernas yg kita tak terfikir untuk disebut sebagai satu keunikan yg ada dlm masy kita. Sy pun guna video tu untuk dijadikan rujukan dan kupasan pd student sy ttg budaya Malaysia
The uniqueness of Malaysia as a multicultural country where diversity is celebrated as a strength, rather than an obstacle to unity. 👍😎
Our only and biggest problem are our politicians who never stop trying to divide.
Putting fear into the mind of the people
Saya harap bangla akan makin ramai datang malaysia
the things that i hate so much is our politician.. they are so insensitive.. the like to make racist remarks, which is not nice.. sometime i feel like our country is not as tolerant as it used to be.. another thing is the high number of the immigrants..
@@endrajayajaya1826tiba2 kenapa😂
As a Malaysian living overseas (temporarily) i totally agreed about the language skills. While i am working part time in a shop, my co-worker always amazed how i can understand customer's broken english and people (mostly immigrant) with strong accents.😂
Jimmy, we can understand alien too😂😂😂.
Agree! I will always be the one ' filling in the gap ' whenever our senior Thai instructor has a hard time explaining things to our Bosnian supervisor 😁, of course with my broken English too 🤣🤣🤣. Malaysians can understand even the language of animals except the politicians 🤣🤣🤣
@@bahloolstories5361 it mean we nwo were ufo come from😁😁😁
Fully agreed ! I still remember how my ski instructor ( in the swiss alps ) in the beginning was so worried that I could not understand his German language but less than 10 minutes he was smiling knowing I could follow what he was saying, but trust me I main agak agak je😅.
Malaysia is the best in this planet. Thru the ethnic diversities, we Malaysians from young has grown up to respect and understand our other fellow Malaysians regardless of race and religion. That's why we smile all the time. And with the mix of fabulous foods we have how can not Malaysians smile even more! 😊
Hi IChang & Jimmy,
I've been following your vlogs for a while now and it's pretty obvious that you love the food and the people here. You've been great ambassadors of Malaysia. In my opinion, there's so much more for both of you to see and to experience. I world like to suggest that this time, plan to travel slowly through the different states and their towns where you can truly immerse yourselves in the local food, culture and traditions. And please do not forget Sabah and Sarawak.
All the best and travel safe. 😊
I enjoy listening to your perspective of the malaysian culture. Things we malaysians take for granted but are much appreciated by visitors. In fact most malaysians can speak with differing accents depending on whom they speak to, just so that the other person feels comfortable communicating. We can change modes. We can do proper english, chinese english, malay english, indian english and like wise we can do chinese malay, indian malay, proper malay plus all the state dialects. A very accommodating lot, we are 😊
Malaysia is Truly Asia🤭🤭✌🏻
Even ibanlish, dayaklish and most amazingly kelantlish
The true minimalist in communication. So you know the secret already. We minimise our sentence. That how we deal with the complexity of english language. As long as both can understand each other it'd be enough.
Yes Malaysia has become "homebase" for many nomad foreign UA-camrs travelling all over Asia such as ATrain Travel, Moonshine and Lemongrass, Jetlag Warrior and many more. Enjoy your stay in Malaysia guys❤❤❤.
Manglish in 1 sentence = "true minimalist in communication".
I think the reason that we all accept you, being so friendly with you & respect you is that you respect us too... you respect our cultures, you respect our sensitivities, you are genuinely interested in us... do not see it as 1 way but it really is a 2 way thing... mutual respect & acceptance. You think we will accept & welcome foreigners who are disrespectful & rude? "In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you."
Ive never appreciated my own country more since watching your videos. It just speaks to how well you articulate your love for Malaysia, it helps me understand myself as a Malaysian as well.
Would love to see you guys do a healing trip to Kundasang Sabah. Get a homestay, buy some fresh mountain vegetables and cooking them, enjoying the mountainous view... Wow that would be amazing! Do consider contacting Sabah Tourism before doing that
Ya, totally agree. Sabah is waiting for your return. Spend a few weeks here, and visit all the small towns here, you guys will have a good time.
i'm chinese malaysian and speaks Malay with thick chinese accent.....Most Malays can understand what i speak and some also can speak back to me in Malay with Chinese accent....haha
I always have this tendency to change accent/dialect according to who I speak. When listening to what ichang said, Ahh now maybe I change accent to be a little bit understanding/accepted. For example if I talk with my Chinese neighbours I'll speak malay with Chinese accent, when I talk with my sabahan cousin, I change to imperfect sabahan dialect, when I talk to my Kelantan friend I talk with this siamese kelantanese dialect and etc.. It's automatic I didn't even realize 😂 I think that's beautiful of us as Malaysians! ❤❤❤
Eh samalah😂
Okay this comment show the beauty of Malaysia😢
Is that something to be proud of? Should’nt you as a Malaysian speak fluent malay? The NATIONAL LANGUAGE of this country?
@@amirneeds2sleepfluent malay? Even malays doesnt fluent in proper bahasa melayu. Being some accents doesnt meant doesnt fluent. Plentiful accents throughout the world. Doesnt you realize malay johor and malay trengganu is having different accents altogether? So which one is proper bahasa melayu?
Many years ago,my brother had a Japanese friend. He was supposed to develop a kind of sugary kind of plant, stevia in Trengganu. He ended married to a Malay lady and settled in Batu Rakit.I sincerely like his house, clean and well kept.May i suggest to both of you to consider to settle down in Malaysia.....
Love it when you say Malaysians are “willing” to understand other people’s accents. This willingness is also consistent with other parts of the Malaysian culture - eg willingness to help strangers or go out of their way to help other people when they are able to.
The thing i always, always admire with you guys is how you both always come up with new observations about Malaysians, especially iChang and then Jimmy will give examples that are clearer to understand. How observant is that? Thank you so much for appreciating us Malaysians, our multi languages, our foods and nature offered. I am deeply humbled and honoured to be watching your genuine, meticulous thoughts and opinions. And thank you for being thoughtful about the batik attire. I love how you guys are so prepared not just in terms of the topic you are discussing but also you assimilated your choice of outfits as well.. An amazing Japanese culture we Malaysians ought to follow ✅🫶🏻
Please stay longer here and experience numerous more adventures in this beautiful Malaysia that is now your home. And thank you for still finding dragon balls hidden here. I’m feeling delightful and refreshed somehow after watching this video. Malaysia is truly one of a kind. 💕💕
Alamak! you already knew our 'minimalist communication' skill. Short and precise👍👍
Thank you for sharing the thoughts. You're almost there to becoming Malaysian. 'To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia'❤
I hope you have a chance to visit some villages in Borneo and live in their long house. We as West Malaysian don’t really understand our East Malaysian, how good and friendly and diverse there.
true...me, a west Malaysian, are also shocked by East Malaysia hospitality,..it's like a hundred times more 😮
Yes, East Malaysian hospitality is on another level! They are also color blind to skin color. Anybody is welcome there. Such an amazing place!
Agree!
i am happy that both of you were having so much fun in malaysia..
What a great observation and thoughts of our Msian culture and understanding the value of our race ethicity in this country. It is good to note that both of you are adapting well in M"sia, and do reach out to us if you require 😀❤
Jimmy & IChang , we ( my family) certainly enjoy your video postings.
The places you have been to in Malaysia are the places we have never been too.
And the various cuisines you savoured, we have not really tried ourselves too.
Gee, you both have done us a great favour.
Really appreciate it .
You both are welcome to stay and roam Malaysia as long as you wish, visa permitting.
Believe it or not, we don't even realise that there are so many beautiful areas, eating places in our own country that we are shy to say we don't even know exist.
Thank you for the exposing videos you both have posted.
Domo arigator, Tomodachi.

iChang & Jimmy, thank you for sharing your experiences living in Malaysia.
How I really proud to be Malaysian. I really appreciate your honest and good review about Malaysia
Thank you both for sharing your observations, esp regarding the communicating with the intent to understand- that's very powerful, which more of us need to practice. The fact you observe that trait being displayed by Malaysians that you have met gives me hope. We all need to do more of that. Thank you for being a mirror to our Malaysian character- don't hesitate to share what we should improve on as well. We enjoy having you because you both display a high sense of respect and understanding too of our local culture and idiosyncrasies. Together we make this living experience more interesting, learning from one another.
Yes totally agree all Malaysians are really kind hearted, friendly to understand other visiting foreigners language no matter where they come from and always with a smiling heart.
Your video is so genuine and heartfelt I feel like getting a nomad visa for myself... and I'm Malaysian XD
😆😆😆
What a beautiful description of Malaysian life, culture and its people. I hope there will be a sudden increase of people applying for the Nomad pass. Thank you ichang n Jimmy . You are now our tourist ambassadors.🥰
Congrates for the happy good news both of you. Surely it was a memorable journey for both of you going through all those trials, but still you meet so many people and had that name called lucky coz no matter where u're, they will be some people willing to share what they have and helping you too. It was such a great and wonderful journey and memories for both of you
Thank you for always shedding a different light on Malaysia even for Malaysian to appreciate and love this country. Please do come visit Sabah & Sarawak especially during harvest festival (Keamatan/Gawai)
hornbill is a very loyal bird.. they only have 1 partner in their whole life.. they are very family oriented, the parents will always keep their younger ones close by.. the father work very hard to provide for the family, when the mother is having their baby, the mother and the baby will lock themselve, usually in tree hole for months.. the hole is covered up only leaving a small hole where the father can pass the foods to his family.. if anything happen to the father, the mother and baby will not survive..
TQ for your valuable insights of not just foods; but, also, how accepting we are, as Malaysians. Yes, I totally agree with you. ❤Having lived overseas, i always find the feeling of acceptance is always lacking in other countries. It is one thing to be welcomed n quite another to feel accepted-so true, iChang!!! Your understanding of culture & people is amazing! ❤
TQ So Much!🥰
Pls go to East Malaysia, too! People there are really warm n wonderful! 😍
Knowing a word or two Japanese, I loved Japan because I was accepted there too. When I visit there, there will be always some Japanese acquintance that accompany us. And we communicate well to each other.
Wow a year already. Congratulations and thank you for making Malaysia more colourful with your presence here. 🙏
I feel like for Malaysians, every opportunity can become friends. Just talk, nothing to worry about.
Can feel that Jimmy and iChang consider Malaysia as second home. You like the people and the food as well. I wonder what’s next after the nomad pass visa expired when you’ve already got used to life in Malaysia?
I hope the nomad visa can be extended. Some foreigners feel the departing pain of not aloowed to stay longer.😢
Welcome to Malaysian Hospitality.....And thank you sooooo much for introducing Malaysia to the world based on your real and actual experience...
Happy to know that both of you are staying here most welcome and much more here to explore. greetings & all the best in all your trips...

This reminds me of your video eating raya food and cried. I hope next year you would be able to celebrate raya in a kampung.
That's a fantastic idea making Malaysia as a base. Language is not an issue since English is widely spoken. Everything else is rather affordable. 🥰

So glad you both IChang and Jimmy are having a great experience here. And you are rught about the hospitality within Malaysians. We are warm, respectful and friendly compared to some other parts of the world. I remember my first time visiting Thailand years ago i was greeted at the airport very warmly by the immigration officer who attended to me. She was so nice. I will never forget that
Watching you guys really made me to feel how blessed I am to be born Malaysia. Really thank you.

What are the difficulties of living in Malaysia as a full-time youtuber? Both of you were a bit down the other day (3rd month-4th month).Do you feel the pressure?especially scared the qualities of videos don't meet our expectations.Which one is easier staying 3 months and making videos or making videos and staying full time?.Don't worry we will support you no matter what may come.😊😊😊

I am glad you are enjoying living in Malaysia. It is indeed an amazing country! You’re so right about us Malaysians being able to understand all kinds of English accents! It is somehow our natural ability though we may not realize it. Hahahah….
I am so happy that both of you are happy living here... I can understand your English without a problem 😅😅😅

A very thoughtful understanding of our multi-dialect English !
Totally agree with you that we tend to be more accomodating and communicable because of our diversity, culture, education, upbringing and social values.
