I've made this twice, this is absolutely delicious!! My 2 year old just eats in one go... and I love the fact that there is oats. We all love it and I'll keep this video from now on! Thank you!! :) x
Where I come from this is a drop scone I remember making them with my mum in the 80s . Maybe where you come from its a pancake but just remember the whole world doesn't revolve around you.
Seems a bit rude, there... As people call the same thing by different names all over the world and it was not said in a corrective or rude manner, and someone from Scotland called them the same thing. Either way it appeared to bring up yummy memories for all 3 of you. How about some warm yummy banana "whatever you want to call them" and get your belly full of warm comfy feelings and feel the love for all the people who make good food to share with us ?
It's a long time since you asked this question, but I have a couple of bowls in the same style. It might be a potter called Barrington. The shop I bought them in no longer exists, but was from the same area as River Cottage HQ.
+illtellulatta03 In Australia we call them piklets. Pancakes are bigger. These are very popular in Australia for a mid morning or afternoon snack, with or without the oats and honey. We usually serve them cold, with jam (jelly) and cream, or butter and honey.
Excellent recipe Hugh, the man continues to crank out brilliant simple dishes ,easy for the keen home cook
"That tantalizing smell of slightly caramelized banana" Drooling now.
This is absolutely fantastic. If I were to listen to FoodTubers, I'd just be cooking and eating all day.

Whoa! How rude!
Looks yum. Mind you, overripe bananas are the best for banana bread or smoothies.

My sweetie makes a vegan version of this that is also gluten free and they are delicious and are perfect anytime.

How about adding a little sprinkle of cinnamon into the batter?

American style pancakes!
+Susan Nguyen No Scottish!
I'm in Australia, where can I get this book?
Well I’ve just eaten my tea but know I’m hungry 😋 so off to the shops it’s cake time 🤦♂️.

@@auntfanny3266 thank you. I ended up getting a Mason cash bowl.
@@richardwhite4316 You're welcome. Mason Cash are nice, too. I have several.
Mmmmm looks yummy though will be veganising them to make them healthy.
This can be made vegan by replacing milk with non-dairy milk. Soaked chia seeds in non-dairy milk instead of egg. Vegan butter instead of butter.
Where are you guys
... one thing i don't get: why's that a scone and not a pancake? :D
seems more like a pancake to me haha
Sorry brother, but you must have... NO OATS
You made pancakes.
+illtellulatta03 drop scones / scotch pancakes
Yes, pancakes. Definitely just pancakes.
+MrsBrit1 Yup just pancakes.

In the UK, at least in my area, a pikelet is another name for a crumpet.
Errrr.....pancakes.
+MrsBrit1 No drop scones.
No, drop scone should be baked. This is made in a PAN. This is nothing remotely scone like.
+chap0syoutuification No Scottish pancakes. Scones are made from dough not batter!
YES!
Couldnt you name this recipe "Oat and banana pancakes"
He is british and there they are called drop scones.
+Novacification They're not! They're Scottish pancakes!
