I have another example of how amazing the Efteling staff truly is. A few years ago I was celebrating Newyear’s eve at Efteling wich is a very populair and crowded event as you can imagine. Because there was a busdrivers strike that evening, many visitors couldn’t leave the park with public transport. The Efteling staff decided to bring visitors to trainstations around the park with their own busses to help people out! Now that’s what I call service and I think a Disneyland Paris for example would never do.
Oh wow! That's amazing!! 😍🙌🏻
Inderdaad geweldig 👏👏👏 dat wist ik niet. Maar het is bekend personeel echt super klantvriendelijk zijn.
@@TPIOfficial not only busses, staff dus use their own private cars also, ride operaters, managers, everyone did what they could do
I remember one other time I was a few seconds too late to get a special toy egg (with an Efteling pin inside) out of an automatic, it was just turned off. Luckily enough I caught the staff member just around the corner and she just gave me an egg for free, it was so kind of her!
@@vintagenl Efteling had daar absoluut een warme douche voor mogen krijgen!
I actually live in The Netherlands and i love these reviews where people from the UK this time visit our "Happy space".
Come back any time!
Awww thank you so much! We honestly loved every single second 🤩🙏🏻
People from all world not just england colonial like holland 😂😂😂
I’d never heard of it before lockdown, watching endless UA-cam videos. In April 2022 I visited for the first time (first trip out of the UK since 2019).
Loved it.
Been back twice since, staying at the Bosrijk resort each time. And have been back to Disneyland Paris, for comparison. And I think Efteling is better because it’s unique: it has its own history, its own IP and it’s owned by a charitable trust not a corporation.
I live in Brighton and it’s cheaper to take my family for four days at Efteling (including travel) than it is to take my family for four days at CenterParcs Sherwood Forest.
I loved watching your experience, I will never forget my first Efteling visit and I love revisiting it vicariously.
Thing to reiterate from what you said: it’s so inexpensive. It’s inexpensive compared with UK parks. It’s inexpensive compared with other Northern European parks: hoodie at Plopsaland = €95, hoodie at Efteling = €45.
Absolutely! Incredibly great value for what you pay 😁👌🏻❤️
The feeling of immersion into a sort of magical environment always leaves me with a kind of hangover upon leaving the park. Yes, it's THAT good! Nice review, spot on.
Thank you so much! You experience such a come down don't you? 😞😂🙏🏻
6:22 The lift of Python is only slow when it's running two trains. If one train is running, it is a lot faster. It's about 57 seconds from bottom to top of lift with 2 trains, and 31 seconds with 1 train, so a 45% increase in lift speed.
There is a good reason though. If the lift was going fast with two trains, the train would just be sitting there at the brakerun at the end. Now at least it keeps moving. And with the lift running slower, it's also better for the motor and the environment, as it is basically in a sort of energy saving mode.
Ahh okay cool, that makes sense 😁👍🏻
Going now for 44 years to de Efteling, and still enjoy it every time. Memories have been made there!
❤️😁🙏🏻 that's wonderful ro hear!!
Thank you on behalf of the netherlands for the lovely review.
Aww thank you so much, my pleasure 😁❤️🙏🏻
Nice review! Been watching your Efteling videos and it's amazing to see foreigners having such a great time at "our" little park, which I consider to be something of a national pride. Quite a few generations have created and been fed unforgetable memories there.
@11:28 These "snack walls" are actually really common all throughout the Netherlands. A lot of snack bars and cafetaria's have them facing the street, so you don't even have to go inside to get yourself a quick snack. They are also super common on festivals and during events, on train stations etc.
Do come back when the massive amounts of construction going on now have passed.
Ahh thank you we loved every second! 😊🙏🏻
The UK needs those too tbf lol! They're awesome and so convenient too 😁👌🏻
We'll be back, very soon 😉
Its called"febo".@@TPIOfficial
The Efteling is my homepark! I visit it very often, and every single time I absolutely LOVE it!
When I moved to Tilburg (a town near the Efteling) one of the first things I did there was buying an annual pass for the Efteling. Never regretted it!
If we lived nearby we'd have done the same 😁👌🏻
What I love personally Is that after 30 years I still sometimes spot new things. Like in the fairytale forest, near the house of the 7 goats if you look up in the tree's you can spot a Broom with a sack on it stuck in the tree. Making it look like a witch had a crash while flying 😂. But also small animatronics: last time I was there I noticed that at the leprechaun village at the 3rd house there's a small opening above the door where a Squirrel animatronic and mouse pop up from time to time. In all these years I've been there I've never saw that before! Or at fata Morgana at the falling gate, that there's a 3rd character in that seen besides the 2 guards. It's someone watching from the window on your right!
And I just love that, that there are still new things to discover after all these years.
😁❤️🙏🏻
The broomstick is actually bij the dragon and fata morgana the extra guy is on your left 😉😜. Next time look up on the little awning above the big bad wolf from the goats, another little squirrel! And a cat under mother goats bed. Only discovered that one recently and i'm dutch and been coming 2/20 times a year since the '70ies!
I think one of the reasons the staff is so friendly at Efteling is because they themselves feel they matter. Efteling treats their staff well. The workers there are proud and love their job
That's how all work environments should be! Gratitude costs nothing to convey and goes a very long way!! 😁❤️🙏🏻
I was there for the first time when I was 11 years old on a school trip. I am now a 73-year-old grandfather and recently visited the Efteling with my family of 10. Nothing matches getting into the "Baron" with my granddaughter of 9 screaming our heads off when we make the freefall drop.
😂😍🙌🏻
The Efteling is run by a not for profit foundation, and it shows. Disney does its best to create a magical fantasy atmosphere, and they're very good at it, but in the end they are a giant publicly traded commercial corporation and everything they do is to generate shareholder profits, which gets reflected in the commercialisation of the parks, the atmosphere, the merch, the pricing, etc.
The Efteling on the other hand has no motivation to squeeze you dry and invests the profit they make right back into the park and it makes everything feel more thought out and less commercial. Because of that, and Dutch labour laws, they are also a much nicer employer, which is reflected in the attitude of the staff.
That's not what I observed when I went there with family members which included young children. Efteling has shops at the exit of some of the rides (like, for example, Pirana), so you cannot avoid them. Same for the photos. Just like Disney does. And, unlike Disney where the employees put great effort in treating you well, employees at Effteling are more protected by Dutch labour laws (which is of course a great thing), BUT don't have to try as hard to keep their jobs. Also, they employees at Effteling are nowhere near as nice towards non-Dutch speaking guests as they r with Dutch guests. I had first hand experience of that and it really shocked me.
@@m.harrington7769Pirana has just gotten that shop very very recently. And I never experienced any discomfort with the staff.
Loved all the videos about the Efteling. It’s my favorite park ever since I was 3 years of age. I’ve had my marriage proposal at the castle of sleeping beauty. Nowadays I celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Efteling with my family and we stay at Bosrijk. I totally recommend Bosrijk during your visit at the Efteling. I really enjoyed your vlogs, thank you.
Aww thank you so much for your incredibly kind words! ❤️🙏🏻 Efteling will be even more magical for you with all of those memories attched too no doubt! 😁🙌🏻
@@TPIOfficial thank you so much. I’ve just subscribed to your channel and IG account as Eftelmania and I’m looking forward to your upcoming video’s and posts. I really appreciate the honest and authentic reviews which are right from the heart. 🙏🏼🫶🏼

This is the absolute number one bucket list park for me. Unfortunately I haven't watched your vlogs precisely for that reason because I don't want more spoilers for my bucket list park than I've already given myself, but I'll definitely be back to watch after I visit
Definitely the best way, keep spoiler free! Efteling was truly incredible and we're sure you'll love every minute as and when you get there :-)
I visit Efteling every 4-5 years and that for over 55 years already. It’s still my most favorite amusement park. I live nearby, 35 minutes cycle ride, so visiting is quite easy.
Great you love it very much too and you will return many times I’m sure.
Droomvlucht is still my most favorite dark ride.
we absolutely loved Droomvlucht, it completely blew me away! :-D
Why every 4/5 years??
@@mikekaraoke not that much changes In Efteling in a year. And costs of course.
@@palantir135 Some things have done over the years-esp with this Efteling plan till 2030 and the new Grand Hotel opening next year-along with new dark ride-Danse Macabre + rest of the new area-Huyverwoud Forest will open.
It is awesome that a part of it is already open right now!
Subscribed! Looking forward to your Danse Macabre review.
Thank you so much! We can't wait to share our first reactions and full thoughts with you as and when it opens! :-)
Can't post links I guess. I also follow Niels Kooyman, a Dutch guy. He visited the Danse Macabre area 3 months ago. Great info from the builder and project leaders. You can use the subtitles and turn on English, auto translate. Video: "Kijken bij Danse Macabre". Enjoy.
This has been on the need to visit list for a while but having watched all your Vlogs and now this review... I'm pretty committed to taking the boys after Danse opens! Your honesty & integrity has weight in this household 😂😊
Awww thank you so much 😁❤️🙏🏻 you really will love it, honestly! You're immersed from the moment you enter to the moment you leave!! 😍👌🏻
Good chance they open that at October 13th because that is what the backstory so far (see the making of from efteling themselves) seems to suggest.
@@toaojjc I actually thought the story hints at the 11th of October. That said it is an Intamin ride system and it is something new, so it might have its problems when opening
Hi, I was just watching your vlogs of Efteling when I saw this one up. The food vendor wall is a typical dutch thing. You see it all around the Netherlands. I visited Efteling so many times I can't count it but I only experience it once that a ride was "broken". Only the baron wasn't broken there was a thunderstorm and since I was the first in line when the ride was cancelled I got a VIP card for the next time and we where giving a choice to wait there or leave. I chose to wait because well thunderstorms comes with big rain and it was dry there. 😅. I loved your vlogs and this video as well. Your reaction to the park I grew up in is interesting to watch in a good way.
Awww thank you so much! 🥹❤️🙏🏻 I honestly loved it so much, the staff were amazing and the UK needs those food vendor walls too lol! 😂👌🏻
Great to see that you like Efteling so much! It’s really the best theme park! 10 points for your pronunciation of De Vliegende Hollander, well done! 🤩 Did you know that Walt Disney visited Efteling and got its inspiration from there for creating Disney parks? 😉
Haha thank you so much 😁🙏🏻 we didn't actually no, however that makes a lot of sense now you mention it 😁🙏🏻
@@TPIOfficial That's a myth. Walt WAS here around the time Efteling was open, but he never visited.
However, it is true that imagineers from the Disney parks visit every now and then for inspiration
@@The_Joestar Indeed, it never happened. Walt DID visit Tivoli in Copenhagen, though.
Please stop spreading nonsense.
The hot food vending machines are a Dutch thing, not an Efteling thing. You'll find those throughout the country.
They're genius 😁👌🏻
2:08 The man with the glasses and the black/red jacket is actually a UA-camr from the Netherlands with over 200k+ Subs called Chef Erik. At that day he was filming a video with another UA-camr called Niels Kooyman. He makes videos about everything happing in the Efteling. 😂
Ah wow! Wish we'd known 😞🙏🏻
I think staff is great because working at the Efteling is like a pride thing. The Efteling is for many many (if not all the dutch) THE pride and joy of the Netherlands. We are all very proud of that park and any negativity is not welcome 😂 because of all the pride. Having said that there are people around that are not happy to be working in that park. You just haven't met them (yet). I am there every week, so yeah i see a lot. I am happy you loved our pride and joy park, come again!
The staff were honestly amazing! We loved every second of our visit and will be back again very soon indeed! :-)
My brother as a kid really wanted to work at Efteling and once he was of the propper age he actually did and worked there partime next to studying. Still has friends from that time that worked there with him.
"negativity is not welcome"... try complaining to an Efteling employee while at the park as a non-Dutch speaker. It will not matter in the slightest bit if you have a justified reason for your complaint. They will dismiss you and do nothing to put things right. I also noticed that their treatment of people with disabilities is appalling. They should be ashamed of themselves. If Efteling was in the US they would have had a big fat class lawsuit filed against them by now.
Hope you get to experience Pirahna too next time and some of the smaller attractions you might have missed.
Really hoping so! Gutted I missed out on Pirana 😞 that and the observation ride!
Pagode. It is fun. In good weather, I can spot the churchtower from my village.
Pirana is one my of my favorites. They are adding a couple of new things. 💧💧💧💧💧💧❤
a beautiful parc but not my favorite in europe.
I prefer Europapark. Btw great video.
Thank you 😁🙏🏻
Love your vids mate, but please upgrade from 720p.
😁👍🏻
Python boring lift hill? You can enjoy the view when you climb higher and higher.
You can. That's what we did lol! 😂👍🏻
1000% worth it!
😁👌🏻👍🏻
do u also know why the lift hill is so slow for python ? its because of,f load and unload the the other train when they run 2 trains . if its one when its not busy its goes way faster 😉
Ahh okay cool, no we didn't know that 😁👍🏻
Efteling was, and indeed still is, formally a 'nature park'. It's owned by a nonprofit foundation that aims to promote nature, leisure and sport or something like that (I'm too lazy to look it up exactly) . Most of the ground they own is not built on. In which other amusement park do you get free roaming peacocks?
For children who went for the first time into The Python is the lifthill one of the scariest parts... Just because it's so slow!!!
It's for the Efteling the ideal lifthill for the Python Rollercoaster.
Ahh true, a slow ascent will help build the tension tbf lol!
And if you are a kid there is a good chance staff will offer you a certificate for your first ride on python. My kids took theirs to school to show their friends.
I really admire how you try to pronunciate "vliegende Hollander ".
Aww thank you, I try lol 😂🙏🏻😁
❤the slow lifthill❤. Efteling isn't a thrill park. White boats Gondola are very slow but wonderful. Pagoda going up very slow but great views. Sleeping beauty very slow walking speed boring, but great story. Fata Morgana very slow dark boat ride. Efteling in my opinion is supposed to be slow. Droomvlucht is slow (except the last part). I hope they make more slow rides.
😁🙏🏻
The Efteling is the best! Offcourse is it worth. Duh!😊
😂😂🙏🏻
The hotel btw will close next month. They are rebuilding
The main Efteling Hotel? Is The Grand Hotel not just another new addition? Didn't think it was a replacement?
Its a addition. They reconstruction the first hotel now @@TPIOfficial
This is the first time I've heard good things about our Dutch customer service 😁
Really? The staff were amazing 😁🙏🏻
Its not holland its the netherlands
Apologies, our geography isn't amazing. We thought the Netherlands & Holland were the same?
@@TPIOfficial Holland and the Netherlands are two very different things. The difference between Holland and the Netherlands is that the former is a province, while the latter is the name of the entire country.
Ahh cool, thank you for the clarification 😁👍🏻
@@TPIOfficial holland is only 2 provinces north holland and south holland
Why do all the english talking people saying Efteling wrong :p it is without the k at the end :p it is Efteling not Eftelink :p
😂😂
They are used to say link I think..... but yes, it is more like sling or swing....
I'm English and been coming here since a small kid in the 80's, and never said it with a K at the end-can't speak for every English person lol
Efteling is definitely more magical than Disney IMO. Only thing for me with Disney is the level of nostalgia i have for it.
One of my favourite memories was braving Baron for the first time in early ride time and the ops asking if we wanted to go straight back round! Of course we did 😊
Haha what an experience!! :-D
Fun fact: Efteling was actually visited by Walt Disney himself before the Disney theme parks were even on the drawing board, and HE MODELED HIS THEME PARKS AFTER IT!!
Wow! We didn't know that, thank you for sharing 😁🙏🏻
Bullshit, Walt Disney never visited Kaatsheuvel Efteling.
@@robslegers2602 Yes he did, in 1952. If you don't believe it, your loss. But it's a fact, so there's no believing here.
This is an urban legend, unfortunately. Disney did visit the Netherlands around that time, but there's no evidence he visited the Efteling or was inspired by it.
