would bemore fair if you put new pads and did a fresh bleed on the hopes as well, ive never had them overheat or fade and im constantly using them for 30+ mph wheelies on 3 hour rides
They did have fresh pads and bleed right before the video. They wont over heat on wheelies like that for me either they dont overheat on trails either, the only time they overheat and fade is when im on the road doing 60,70,80 mph and braking hard down to 20mph or so repeatedly. We have a supermoto course next to me and on there they become overwhelmed ( vid to come in summer when dry ) But yea they were bled and fresh gorilla pads before I fit the lewis brake to the green bike
The purple ebike pads by galfer are similar to the ebike pads that come with the hope’s they’re ok but the gorilla pads bite harder and are less affected by water and less squeaky!
You're gonna need a seatbelt - or velcro your ass to the seat or OTT - but big KW means you need big brakes. I'm looking out for your full test with fronts fitted.
I am interested too, I can do the wheelie stuff too but it gets a lot of hate on YT! These are better than my hope’s but I would like to test them against the Volar Sports!
why didn't they go larger than 220 with the rotors . a larger rotor would dissipate the heat better. i went to 250 and it was a night and day difference running m7 on a LBX
Yes! They are compatible with brake sensor for light and safety features! The sensor is available for less than $20 on the website when you add these to checkout don’t forget to add the sensor :)
Its up to the dealers stocking them to get them listed on their website. This was a sample set! This week I am also receiving the volar sport big brake kit which is likely to be even more powerful!
Never thought about it tbh! I like to keep my bar setup clean never even ran a display until I got the nucular I guess for those with light switches, phone mounts ect it poses a problem.
@@stingyrogerr I Agree, cleaner bars the better. But some times a bike/controller will require a display, mode switch, turbo button, a horn while not sexy, it helps a lot to get by gas bikes on trails that dont know you are behind them (and faster). Other is handguards to protect your levers and hands...
The quality of the lewis lever and hope lever are about the same, the hope piston has more cnc lines on it than the lewis but the raw silver version looks amazing - having both in-front of me the quality of the lewis blew me away. The only difference is that one is made here in the uk and the other in china as you say 😝
@@stingyrogerr yea part availability is a big thing for me personally, tbh the Lewis would be something I’d look into if I ever needed more power which right now I don’t
Very true, ive replaced 2x hope levers and also one red cap on my reservoir and they were easy to find and fast to come :) If that was the Lewis then i’m guessing id be putting up with scratched and scuffed parts
my front is a marzocchi monster t 2003 225mm and i'm sure it will handle a 250mm rotor i already ordered the two brakes i will make a custom adapter and write about the results
Definitely better than the Hope and Formula brake. Also will give a shout out to the Hayes dominions for being really good. I have a set of these Lewis on the way though and the new EP6 for the front. Can't wait to try them out.
I have the lewis 8 pot rear on my spare bike. The video also on my channel reviewing those. I would say anything for MTB is not going to be a huge improvement in terms of power over oem. I would honestly say save for the lewis or volar sport brakes - nothing else touches them. The sram maven are 6 pot but still a primarily MTB brake. I had hope tech 4’s for a year but after the volar sport those feel like they are severely underpowered!
I run the stock 4-piston brakes with upgraded pads and they lock up the tires instantly I don't really find a reason for you to upgrade your brakes besides just to review
When you have 5x the power of a stock bikes the stock brakes boil. The lewis and also hope brakes use dot 5.1 fluid the stock mineral oil brakes would boil and need a long time to cool after braking from 70mph to a stop more than 2 times in a row, the stock rotors also have warped on me and can cause a nasty accident. You dont take a car from 200hp to 1000hp and only upgrade the pads. If you go back to my ‘build video’ before I had this amount of power and was at 12kw, I clearly said the stock front brake were good enough. Going from 12kw to 25-28kw is crazy different. The stock brakes and shimano pads were my choice of braking system for 3 years on my other bike and first 1 year on my sting on stock to 10/12kw theyre good enough. But thanks for watching
Hello there I wanna ask you for opinion I got an offer for talaria sting r 3500£ plus 100£ shipping brand new in the box is it worth it. I’m a big guy 183 tall and 90kg.
Yes contact @wgtracing on instagram tell him you found him through me and ask for 21/18 wheels, I use his wheels if you look at my talaria sting build video. Best in the game
Theyre not available to the consumer market yet for a few weeks, these are tester sets. Theres a link in the description to his website and his instagram page in the video you can contact him through those to pre order or purchase when his shipment arrives 👍🏻
The white bike has £140 floating and vented double layer hope v4 rotor on the front. The most expensive and cooling rotor on the market. You can’t get them for the rear. The green bike had a simple single layer non floating rotor. Lewis bike has the disadvantage 👍🏻
That rear setup you have on the stink is PERFECTION
Thanks man! Build and mod videos of it on the channel feel free to have a look! 💪🏼🫡
Just come across your channel and will be binging for rest of the night! Love it 👊🏼
Haha enjoy man thanks for watching 💪🏼🫡

Cracking video lads, ill get a 6 pot sent too you asap 👏
Thanks brother! Appreciate the opportunity to test them out 💪🏼
damn, they have routet the brake hose INSIDE the Rim? jeeeez i cant count how many times i picked up branches with the rear wheel.
Good spot! Inside/outside its both as vulnerable as one another. Outside snags twigs and branches and grass, inside can do same. Roulette i guess!
Another brilliant video bud
