I love watching videos with subtitles, my first language is not english (im Croatian) but it helps a lot with understanding everything what you are saying. Great video ! I have the Torp TC500 and i couldnt be happier, i know im a bit buyist since its our product but the feel of the bike is 10/10 with it and not to mention i have a stock battery so that is also a very cool feature EDIT: Also i forgot to mention the reverse throttle ! I thought i would not be using that at all but now when im leaving my house i ALWAYS use it to maneuver around my yard its super unique and practical. Highly recommend buying the thumb throttle its very cool
at first when i was looking for a controller and i was just going to buy a bac 4000 but it was out of stock so it gave me some time to do some research and after seeing bacs are starting to blow up and people are sending them back, and how confusing it is to tune i went and ordered the torp-500 and it was the best upgrade i have done to my bike , the torq is insane and its even faster than bac, the torp tunning process is just so easy and i love it.
@99PercentPhase haha I’ve had the new setup for about 2 months now! And omg you are definitely right! Literally feels like a whole new bike! Top speed I’ve hit so far was 83 and my longest ride was about 55 miles with 45% left on battery! It wasn’t cheap but it was so worth it!!
Bac 4k with the kilowatt app is nice imo. Takes care of the egg rider over ride issue and has a user friendly interface. Hopefully I don't get a blinking light of death but so far so good.
So I think I'm sold on the Torp. It seems like better tech. Also their motor is and encoder instead of a hall sensor. Seems more than capable. What I'm trying to figure out now is what battery company to go with. I don't need insane power, I would like to have better range though. If I could keep the battery in a more compact form factor I would like that as well. Any suggestions?
Check out chi battery. They are based out of Chicago and make some nice batteries. If you’re not looking for 72v power but want better range check out their 66v options!
Currently i have no personal experience with it but it looks sick! Currently not very popular in the US but could have potential. Seems to have good tuning capabilities and has a nice display screen. Also cool that you can replace the heat sink with different colors.
Nice review bro . I’m running the trumoto electro&co on my surron l1e street legal Bought it before moving to Germany, and i wish i bought the torp instead. Don’t get me wrong it’s good very smooth controller just doesn’t work well with my street version surron , my eco/sport mode not supported so my bike only have one mode no kick stand safety switch and battery percentage not showing Now I’m really thinking about buying the torp .
Thanks for the info! I’m still yet to see the surron 1Le in person 😂 kinda disappointing to hear that all the basic stock functions on your bike aren’t working with that controller. Torp does not disappoint 🤙🏻⚡️
@@nirzy556 L1e same as X model , expect its get lights turn signals mirrors……. But everything else exactly the same. I’m very mad at electro&co to be honest, and i just ordered torp controller yesterday .
Stock settings i find both controllers to provide a very linear throttle curve however when you start tuning the throttle curve and throttle response they can both get extremely aggressive or soft depending on what side of the spectrum you go to. I’m surprised to hear someone say it’s sluggish… i would double check your throttle settings if you need any help reach out to me on insta i would be more than happy to try and help ❤️
Is it somehow possible to access the 50kw with the light bee in combination with the tc1000 like with the ultra bee? Would have a custom battery made/motor swap
In a 40kw setup with aftermarket motor controller and 72v battery the weakest link becomes the battery… so if your gonna do a custom battery it really comes down to what the specs are on it but the tc1000 is capable of 50kw so im sure with the right battery its possible
@@nirzy556 So it's not limited to 25kw by "software"? I thought the slider only went up to 25 on the Lightbee. which engine would you recommend for the 40kw +-? Battery would be built with Samsung 40T or Molicel P42A. I actually come from e scooter tuning. sounds really funny but my Xiaomis 1s do 0-50 in under 3 seconds and have a top speed of over 80kmh. only with a small additional battery to get 72V and completely resolder the controller. I also have alternative controllers lying around that could also be put into the surron. Does vesc mp2 tell you something? this is a universal self-made vesc with 20s and 430A. the 2nd version can do 30s and 430A. The parts for a controller are like around 50€+- 💀😂 A 30s sur ron would also be very nice and you don't need quite as many amps!^^
@@nirzy556For me it would also be very interesting to resolder the original Sur Ron controller. But I heard it's very difficult to get the controller out of the glued case without destroying it.
I’ve personally never run a tc1000 on a lightbee before so im not sure if there is a way around the 25kw slider or maybe you can trick it some how without having to do any sort of software “adjusting” 😂 As far as im aware its probably easier to do a tune like that with a ebmx x9000 or BAC 8000 but without a tc1000 im not sure it could be just as easy. With the ebmx x9000 there is a ton of options for what motor your running and what parameters are actually safe for that setup. motor wise you’re probably looking at the Sotion motor, ebmx xlb or tm25
I have never been able to opening up a stock surron controller, they use some SERIOUS glue on those things. The one time I tried to open one up i snapped a screw driver and decided that was enough for me 😂

stock battery? does it make a differnce if you have jsut the stock battery?
Just ordered a 72v 51ah battery and the torp 500! Did my research as well and decided to go with torp!
Good choice my dude! That setup will kick ass!

I got mine from Ebmx, they offer warranty and come in a welded case 👀
@nirzy556 "Chi" battery is a terrible name. I assumed It was a chi- Chinese brand untill I just read your comment.

@chrlielolll5994 cells all still made in China I'm sure....only question is it some known samsung Panasonic or unknown Chinese branded cells
Just picked up the torp tc500 because my BAC 4000 took a shit and I had the red blinking light of death
Another one bites the dust… rip your gonna love that Torp tho!
So what better torp 500 or the bac 4000

Torp on top I’m saying that from a year of experience

How would you compare the throttle feel between the ebmx and the torp? My friends torp is a little on the sluggish side regardless of the settings.

NUCULAR deffo worth a look
why is the torp controller so small and lightweight compared to the other ones?
I’m not sure but it’s an awesome design! Small but powerful 🤙🏻

Chibattery pulsar

ebmx 72v 48 ah

Glad you enjoyed it!
Bac8000 would be the best one if it could run the ebmx motor..
Yeah the BAC platform seemingly is getting outdated
@@nirzy556 asi controls that. They used to be able to run encoder, but not anymore.
The embx Controller can handle more power but my favourit is the torp and 25kw is enough for such a light bike
Torp can't handle that much power, neither the 500 phase Amp, maximum is more like 375 pA
which one is best for 81v battery
I wanna buy a new controller but which controller adds the most top speed
BAC with field weakening probably
Just messaged you on instagram. Hope you’re doing well. Love your videos. Motivated me to get Surron. I love this thing.
