Smart 5 puts out a extra couple hundred watts. Bass version has more sub oriented settings. I'd stick w the bass version. Plus it's half ohm stable if that matters.

@@miguelangelaviles4886 yes, exactly! I was either gonna get a bass 8k or smart bass 5k. I was told by the guy that does amp dynos 'face kicker' to get the 5k cuz the bass 5k is .5 ohm stable, so even if you rise into the 2 ohm area, you'll be right in that sweet spot for the 5k+. I just got the bass version to have the bass crossovers. I had the original smart 3 previously and thats one thing that sucked about it. The smart bass 5k digs into the lows real real nice.
Nah, you deff can. Ferrules just keep it neater and reusable. Like on my smart 3k in my other vehicle tho, the input isn't big enough for 2/0 welding wire and a ferrule so I just had to give bare copper 🤷♂️
I love it. But Taramps indicated to me the other day that the Smart 8k is coming out with triple inputs! So I'm buying it soon as it comes out. Or maybe the JP83, but I hate the color. But smart 3 and smart 5 are both solid. I've had smart 3 for over 2 yrs, and the smart 5 about 6 or 8 months. So they are deff reliable!

@@vs300c3 like 14.2v but my car ran factory at 14.0v so still better than stock voltage🤷♂️ if I'm revving at 1800rpm, it only drops to like 14.6v I got a more recent video kinda showing it.
It's not protect. It was clipping lol. I just first put em in and wanted to stretch em out for a sec. If u don't know what you're doing, I wouldn't recommend it.

Great man. Some ppl knock Taramps, but out of all the amps I've ever had in my life, any taramps I've ever used never went into protect even once. Never even gets hot. Even a lil bit. So I can't say nuttin bad.

My smart 5 I've had for 8 months or so now, pushing at full power. Never had a issue. Never been in protect even once. They rate taramps at 12.8v so they are used to taking a beating. Just don't get the MD series.

You'll have slightly more power probably. And the dual inputs are nice. But these smart amps still putting out 5k at .5 to 2 ohms is just unbeatable. And it's pretty small comparatively speaking. But if I were you, I'd wait till the smart 8k comes out. I'm gonna snatch it up too. I've had all the smart amps thus far.

It digs in real nice n low! My setup only sounds decent down to like 24hz, but it deff digs deep. Barevids has a video explaining it.

If you could get a jp 63 or deaf bounce 8k. Or sundown salt 6k would you still get this amp teramps smart 5 bass
