- I've been wanting to build another movie car, this time Project X, which started out as a $700 beater that Popular Hot Rodding used as a test bed for new engines and aftermarket products. It's still very much a Project car to this day, strong as ever. My plan is to build it as seen in the movie "The Hollywood Knights" from 1980, with a blown 283 and bright yellow paint. Should be fun! Plus, I went shopping today and found a HOLY GRAIL kit I couldn't resist picking up. Check out what I brought home!
Want to swap shop cards or share pics of your builds for everyone to see? Here's my email address-send me your address and I'll send you mine as well as my cards, and I'll post your build pics so everyone can see. Thanks!

Great video my friend. That movie was awesome. My work provided some props for that movie. Love project X
Man Dave the big Vette is so cool. Building Project X will be awesome. Will be watching. Ron
Cool grail find. That hobby store in Ames is my favorite. I had to work black Friday but my wife stoped in and picked up some paint for me.
Nice 😅..... project X sounds fun 😀
That Vette is awesome!!
Very cool kit.
First time watching your videos and have to say very nicely done 👍 , when I was younger that's about all I did in my spare time was build model's and collect them, I was nowhere near the level like the people putting.thess videos out . Anyway I'm retired now and after I'm done at the garage that my Father & me have I like going home and relax by either watching TV or going out somewhere but being 64 I would really like building model's again and see what level I can get myself up to and what kind of job I can get to 👍✌️
Thanks for checking out my videos, and if you're needing that jump start getting back into building these kits definitely fit the bill, plus the newer AMTs (the Craftman series GTOs are also awesome, if you've a Walmart nearby maybe they have the hobby endcap with some of them, and I always hear about Ollie's, we don't have one in Iowa, but they seem to be a lot of places. Pick a kit and enjoy the build!
@@ceezdaday Thank you myfriend , it's funny you mentioned Ollie's , just before Christmas the wife and I was there shopping and I came across their model section and grabbed 7 models a 57 Chevy 55 Chevy- 64 Chevy two Nova Gasser - 57 Chevy nomad - 64 Dodge 330 - 69 Torino cobra and last is a big rig car carrier .
Now I have to save my pennies again to get whatever supplies I'm going to need whatever it should be , the paint and stuff . I did Subscribe so if I should have any questions or looking for some tips would that be okay with you 🤔🙂 . Your much Appreciated and thank you myfriend 👍👌✌
Nice big Corvette model, great find.Hollywood nights was a great movie I saw it so many times and of course have the dvd, thanks for sharing your builds!
my holy grail was amt 1966 buick skylark gs annual kit. it was issued for one year before the modified stocker version.
Good luck with the 'Airbrushing'. Really nice 'Vette'! I hope you got a heap of 'Glue' for it!!
Always great finding a grail kit.👍
Awesome 1/ 8 scale vette
Great plan. Your model is a hardtop, but project x is a two door sedan ( higher roof and post) Enjoyed your review and commentary.
Thanks for the info there, much appreciated. I plan on doing a better kit of Project X in the future, so I'll be on the lookout for a better body kit-this one was OK, turned out OK, but I could have done way better with a better kit. Video coming!
That awesome that you are able to fix the models and I love the 1/8 corvette and I have the same kit as well and it's huge!! I love the Hollywood Nights movie and I'll be watching this build ❤
Great ideas on the ‘Project X’ car. Love it! Thought: I noticed the movie used car had a different texture on the yellow rear ‘spear’ than found on the stock chrome version. If you zoom in on the screen used car, the spear has a corrugated texture, where the stock has just horizontal lines. I wonder if anyone makes a panel of photo etch that would work? Probably doesn’t matter, at that scale! Nevertheless, can’t wait to see what you do with it! Thx!!
Hey Dave! Love the idea to do the yellow 57. If it was me I would use the good primer then put a sealer primer over it to make sure there is no bleed. Because you are going with a bright yellow over the blue. I have great success using a sealer especially over red plastic. Love the Corvette what a nice kit. Looking forward to hooking up to do the air brush deal take care my friend. 😀😀
Great score on the large scale Vette! Would be a good candidate for the GB because of the pre cored plastics! But also being a hard to find kit I understand wanting to do it a different way as well. Look forward to what you choose and the next updates.
🤓👍
20 minutes of absolutely nothing. Thank hod for the scrubbing function. What a waste of time.
HEY-DAR 👊😎👍: I never seen that 1/8th kit before, that looks very nice. That's a great idea for the "Naked Group Build" where would you put that when done? That 57 HT making a movie car that was on Hollywood Nights is going to be a nice build, I sense a LIKE coming. I don't have Shop-Cards of my own but I'd like to get one of yours if possible? I don't like emails I've had to many issues in the past. Reply to this and I'll send you my add. Watch You Later, (MODEL CAR😎MAN CAVE)
I'd be glad to send you my shop cards! And thanks for checking out the kits!
