Always impressed by the simplicity of instruction in these clips. My grip pressure at address , on a scale of 1 to 10 , is at about 3 so that my wrists , with any luck , cock naturally by the time I reach the top of my back-swing.
with eight bones in each wrist, multiplied by all the other joints involved in swinging the club to accurately strike a golf ball ,, there is infinite `articulation` before impact for us mere mortals to (introduce error) or hopefully remove error preferably, you make a good fist of trying to explain this very complex motion martina, well done and thanks for all your videos 😇👍
Not setting up at address with a basically flat left wrist has been my fatal flaw. So much easier to get there at set up with the hands at the left thigh at address. That is where the hands need to be at impact, so why not start there to begin with. The thing I most respect about your teaching is your focus on executing the fundamentals of a golf swing. As you get older (like me), it is imperative to properly execute the fundamentals IF you hope to maintain good contact, reasonable distance and control, and an acceptable handicap. Thank you so much for all that you share.
Klasse Video Martina! Du hast wieder eine meiner vielen Fragen in deiner unnachahmlich klaren und super strukturierten Erklärung beantwortet. Vielen Dank
Thank you. For me the problem is not the slice but the shot left. Curiously this is only a problem when the ball is tee’d up, particularly with an iron? For example at my home club there are five par three holes. For me this is five greens all missed on the left? Help. I suspect I am doing a tiny flip? I am 7 chap. Any suggestions? Great videos by the way. Very clear.
I join the club. Well, there are many things to check: Clubface in address, sternum in address, lining up feet and shoulders. After all film you from the front, if there is a little flip, then the question is, why you do it? Reaction or habit? ...
I get very confused about the difference between “breaking’ the wrist, “cocking” the wrist, “releasing “ the wrist! My coach says don’t break the wrists, does he just mean on the back swing? It’s so much to learn! 😩
If you have these confusing moments, please never hesitate to ask your Pro. That is what he/she is good and paid for! I can't really tell you what he/she means by saying this without seeing your swing...
Excellent and simple explanation, great value. When playing the ball in front of the stance as in the case of long clubs, a little cupping of the lead wrist seems inevitable. Is there a way to avoid this?
There is nothing against a little cupping but due to and it also depends on the grip. Other than that there is not nessecarily a need of cupping, even with the longer clubs!
Hello Martina, thanks for this helpful video. Regarding the right hand and forearm function; should I stop rolling over the right forearm at impact and concentrate on your procedure of flipping the right hand and wrist more like a push? This all happens as the right arm is straighten. thanks, Jeff Joseph
Well Jeff, at some point the hands need to roll over. But I am not a big fan of doing this on purpose. If your clubface is open, find out why. Why does it not get closed through impact without rolling your arms, that means, that the body rotation is also not free to the left. Ask your Pro at home please!
Could the problem be semantics ? Release means let go. As it relates to golf,I am not sure if it means to hit or strke the ball or release control of the club head ? From there we inevitably move to hitters vs swingers ,Nelson vs Palmer.Right or wrong I feel like I hit PW thru 7 and swing the rest.
I totally understand what you mean. I hit a Wedge also more or lets say different than an 7 or 6 iron. I guess we would feel the wrist more in a hit in the lower clubs... The rest is a let go...
I can't really tell you a theory, its setting it and releasing it and don't hold it to long on purpose! Keep it simple! But my main thought of this video was to finally toclear up what the "Release" actually means.
I do disagree slightly with the left hand/ wrist at address. Many pros have that slightly stronger grip with a little wristcock on their left hand at address.
There are many different pros out there. If you look at Jordan Spieth, who grips it really week and then you have guys gripping it really strong. There is no ONE grip actually.
@@martina_eberl_coaching_en Yes exactly, there are loads of different grips. To my knowledge over 50% do grip it on the strong side. I vary between neutral (2-knuckle left hand) and 3-knuckle with Driver so dont grip it overly strong. Grip is always an interesting topic, amateurs dont realise what a big effect the grip has to the swing overall. Danke für die Antwort und einen schönen Tag nach München 😄!
Finally someone told us👍 big thank u
Happy I could help! Any more questions, just let me know!
This is it! The top players underhanded release. Danke Martina!
Sehr gerne!
Amazing tip! I have always made a V but it make sense to have a straight left wrist
Thank you
OO
Glad you like it! Let me know what kind of changes in your ball striking is happening!
Great tip. Simple😊👍
Glad you like the tip! Super if it sounds easy for you!!!

very good explanation of the release.thank u.
You are welcome!

Freut mich sehr! Vielen Dank für Dein Lob!
Very informative, am truly great I found yr channel. Great refreshing course for me
Thanks Fiona, very happy you like it!
Appreciate this video. Could you also discuss the folding of the trail arm during the takeaway and backswing-along with width of swing? Many thanks!!
There will be a few videos coming up, which I explained a lot about bending the arm!

excellent explanation . I will be more aware of the left hand at set up
You certainly should do!
Excellent! 👍

Go over wrist conditions post impact.
I did not get the time of right wrist release please clarify? Is it after the impact or during impact?
It is happening through the ball. The same as the arm. Imagine to get a divot on the way down after hitting the ball!
Hi Martina. Can you do a video on how to keep your head steady in the golf swing. Especially on the follow through ❤
Hey Maureen, please watch the video where I´ve already answered questions of the viewers. There is also a sequence of the head!
1:17 vs 4:17 The release of the right wrist. Presumably we don't want it flicking through impact? Should we not want more stability through impact.
If you flick it, there is mostly a reason behind that. Thats first to figure out. Hardly any player just flicks the hands!
Very good and clear explanation of the wrist motion at set up and in the golf swing. Cheers
Thank YOU for your consistent responds!
Maybe you can do a video on the release of the arm and wrist at impact. Seems a number of coaches have a different take. I'd like to see yours. Thanks
Just watch all great players in Slowmotion, there your see the correct im impact in slow-motion!
I can't really tell you a theory, its setting it and releasing it and don't hold it to long on purpose! Keep it simple! But my main thought of this video was to finally toclear up what the "Release" actually means.
Slightly disagree with the left hand wrist position at impact. You can still hit down and release with a strong left hand grip.
Of course you can release it with a strong left hand. Depends how strong that it does not influence your direction of the clubface...
