Another simple, straight forward articulate video of one aspect of the golf swing. I’ve been playing golf 55 years and fifty of those at 3 or less handicap and this is the best golf channel on UA-cam ! Keep ‘ em coming!
Thanks, Marina. The hip turn is probably the most difficult part of the golf swing to explain. You did a very good job in givingus some feels that should benefit our swing.
Martina, Great video and great understanding of the turn. Too many videos assume we are all pros and practice 10 hours a day. Your videos are excellent for us weekend amateurs.
thankyou again martina, this video really explains some fundamental problems really clearly about the right way to move the hips, the left knee simply flexes towards the ball as the right hip moves back helps me also with clearing the left side , all the left leg has to do is ..straighten as the swing progresses, with little or no lateral shift /sway off axis,👍brilliant😊
So helpful, this is currently my number one issue, lifting my head and shoulders too early. Thank you Martina for this perfect explanation. Edit: I have christened this my “Rhumba walk” as it’s the same motion without stepping. Its one of my mantras when I set up to take my shot, another one of your amazing pieces of advice that I’ve added to my golf bag! 😊
Got to say following on from watching this video I went out this evening for a quick 9 holes practice, concentrated fully on getting my right hip back, what a result, ball then turf and arrow straight, clearly stops me from standing up. thanks
Well explained (and a unique explanation). I will correct my vernacular that the hips don't turn like the upper body (shoulders) do. I like that you have to "build space" for the hips/buttocks to accommodate the upper body rotation. More of a horizontal movement than inclined. It is sort of non-intuitive because most everything else is on an inclined plane, one would think the hips would be too. Hips are key to me (foundational power), and never been fully satisfied with this part of my swing, so am excited to give this a try. Thanks Martina.
Thanks. That's been a challenge for me. I tend to pull the ball a lot because I rotate and not push back like you described. Will try your pushing to the wall concept.
Wow 36 years old golf u have really maintained. I really love your accent and explanation much better than a British and American accent God bless if u happen to come to India would like to take you to some nice golf games
Thanks for the nice words! I will certainly let you know, if I come to India! I've been to Bangalore to play in a Tourevent many years ago. I really liked it!
This is a great detailed hip turn video! One quick question, do you "fire" your trail hip at all or only turn up with your front hip and let the trail hip follows. Thank you in advance!
It is very dangerous to fire the trail hip... Please watch the video about the 4 positions in your swing of the living room exercises... Then you know why! Never turn....
Martina as I’m practicing the transition as you demonstrated, can you comment on what your trail foot is doing? Do you tend to roll the right ankle to start the weight transition? I’m conscious to strive to prevent my right knee pushing the club further out and hitting close to the hosel. Thank you.
Absolutely is rolling the right idea. Also good to think: the right hip needs to get underneath the left hip towards the impact! Let me know if this picture helps!
Hi Martina! As usual a great instruction. Really easy to see right or wrong moves. I try too use the thought off cover the ball too maintain the angles in the swing. Do you recommend to use the same thought using the driver? Thank you!
I know what you mean Peter. I like to stretch my left side more with the Driver. With the Driver you don't wanna be low with your upperbody while impact, due to the ballposition and the intention to hit up on it! Keep it with the irons- thats better!
Hi Martina, So, once I've completed by backswing, I start the down swing by straighting my left leg. Bascially pushing the heel down if raised while maintaining my spine angle. Do you see any issues with that, it seems to be working fine. The only swing thought is my target, once my set up is complete. I really enjoyed your lesson on swinging with a purpose, I cant tell how many bucket of balls I aimlessly hit. Glad to see you back running again. 🏃♀🏃♀
Hi Roy, thanks for following me on Insta as well :). Your thought is absolutely fine. I am always careful saying "only" straightening cause, the weight supposed to get transferred to the front foot too. But mostly, if you push down the front heel, it's happening. So I guess you are doing absolutely fine!
The hip motion is a combination of turn with tilt of both the shoulders and the hips. In fact the tilt of the shoulders and of the hips is the same motion. The tilt always comes first.
This is exactly what I explained in my video about the turn. Finally this video is an idea of how to avoid the early extension and there are a few of them. Ask Tommy Fleetwood, one of the best ball strikers at the moment I guess, what he initiates at first in the downswing!
36 yrs playing? What did you start at 2 yrs old?? I worked on this hip/butt back move with the chair drill I learned from watching Russell Heritage. So important to create that space and not get closer to the ball!

Very very sweet of you! Thank you very much! Glad you like it! Tell everyone about it and sure I will let them coming :)
Great lesson.
Thank you!!!

Thank you Brian, glad you like it. Yes it's very important to think of the hip, but its more important to practise the right stuff!
Thank you for explaining these mechanics so clearly. I was doing this but didn't understand how it was happening.
You are welcome! I love if I can make it clearer to someone!!!
Did you read my mind? Superb, well explained. Thx coach!
Glad I could read your mind :)... You are welcome!
I have seen many many video , and you are in the top for me , always with super clear details
Thank you
Thats very nice of you writing this nice comment! You are very welcome!
Really good explanation. It made me see this in a new light! Thanks!
Let me know Chris, how it works for you!

Thank you, glad you like it. And yes, that you always have in mind, that not many people have the time and also not the ability to copy tourpros!

Super nice to read John! Continue this for a while, I am sure the bad pattern will change and the great moves will stay!

Martina, great vid, do I push off the ground with my feet or my left heel?
If, then you push of the ground. There are many ways to use groundforce. Watch a video about Smart2Move!

You are welcome!!!
Your last two videos are about me … have got a secret camera stashed somewhere at my local range?! 😂 Thanks smile
That's funny, but you know, finally we are all bothered by the same issues :)
Thank you
You are welcome Larry!

I mean , game around the Green.
@@tanzina999 Watch the new video, what just came out yesterday!

Merci bien
Once u sit down on your butt, it is difficult to rotate and go through the ball. No idea what is best?

I started when I was 6 :)... Glad you like the video!
It’s a coil.
Absolutely!
OMG. Next. Couldn’t take all the mumbo jumbo.
Great explanation and tips thank you. 🦘🏌️♀️
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
