My Moscow (standard model) arrived today. It took 5 mins to unbox and 8 mins to put together. Battery was nearly full - rode 15 miles and still have 2 bars on the battery. I got up to 23 mph without pedaling and when pedaling I really couldn't get much more. I was dripping with sweat - more of a workout than my analog MTB because I'm flying and having more fun. I flew by several bikers. This bike is lighter than I expected. OVERALL REVIEW: - First some background...I am 6'1" 230 and 49 yrs old. I bought this because I needed a 2nd bike. I live in San Diego and plan to ride some of the abundant trails. This is my first eMTB. - Looks very clean and like it will last for years. I can remove the NCM branding stickers which I might do. They are merely decals. - Shifts gears fine although I would deduct points for smoothness with thumb gears. Maybe it's just that I am not used to it yet. - I rode in the lowest gear pretty much the whole trip. The motor kicks in and I didn't go beyond level 3 much (has 6 total). - This bike is such a phenomenal value. I plan to record a ride on trails and share more of the experience - will drop a link in here when that happens. Thank you Scuffed!
@@LedermannYT My bike is around 200 miles now. It's been great. I take the front wheel off to fit in my car and there's a slight squeak I need to flush out but I think that's my own fault. I also cracked the electronics display when I turned it upside down on the concrete. Again, my rookie mistake. I fly by bikers all the time - never been passed in fact. Most of the time I ride on trails and this bike has taken those bumps just fine. I have yet to ride any jumps - not sure if I will. This is a tremendous value - very satisfied.
@@dunksalot Thanks, I am now buying the Moscow and also considering using my old Trek Marlin 5 (29'') accessories like tube and back rack. Do you know the size of the tube, rack configurations? Thank you so much!
Australian version is 250w motor and no throttle because of restrictions, you can add throttle and 500w motor for an extra $500au. Making it technically illegal on road.
Thats correct! Level 2 feels like you are riding on flat ground. Level 1 is a small assist but you would most likely be in 2-5 for normal riding. 1 is more for slight downhill and 6 is just fun as hell Make sure you tighten every bolt on the bike when you get it. You will see some users have an issue with the back disc brake- check out my other video (the review one) and comments from the users
@@scuffedcycle9640 ordered direct from their website as he was no longer on Amazon. 6 days from Vancouver, that's awesome! I'm in Ottawa 🤞 did you increase the speed limiter on it yet? lol
@@chopboss why is it not good?? It over heats it and puts too much wear and tear on it too quickly?? I love to use the throttle alot but I also will bike in between to make sure im getting a work out and not over burdening the motor like you're saying.. @@Canuckcancanuck i was told by the Ebike shop in Toronto (amego) and they said if you just the throttle by itself for a very long time then it’s not good.
Have you ridden any moderate or advanced trails - not the beginner grade you were on? That's my final question before I purchase one. If you haven't gone riding in the hills would you trust the bike to do well?
Yup I have. You are not going to maneuver as easy as you can on a regular MTB just because of the weight. This bikes around 60 pounds. I had a Scott MTB and that was 28 pounds. Yes you can go on jumps- but it isn't as "free" as half the weight if you know what I mean... I don't know if its the weight of the motor as it's in the back and me (200 lb) sitting on the bike but I got two flats. I put slime in my tire and recently got Liners for my tires (ill post a vid on the installation) and I haven't had a flat since If you are looking for advance trails this bike MIGHT not be for you. but holy shit when you are going up hill its such a breeze. you can also just use the trigger for the tough spots where you cant pedal i wouldnt say i go on advanced trails but definitely moderate. i am going to do a range test video today and ill try to hit some of those
@@scuffedcycle9640 I saw your other videos - thanks so much for posting. I'm 6'1" 225 - wishing to be 200. LOL! I would never go advanced with this bike but there are some nice trails by my home in San Diego. I wouldn't jump more than 30cm. I'm torn between the regular NCM for an amazing $1,060 free shipping, a Chinese eMTB with Bafang M620 for $1.5K shipped, and the one I know I'd like the most which is the LUNA X1 Enduro for $4K. My wife would kill me for dropping $4K right now. Is there a big difference between 27.5 vs 29? I have a 29 Diamondback now. I kinda like the agility of a 27.5 but I've never ridden and not sure what I'd prefer. I'm 50/50 beginner/moderate trails and street riding. Any guidance appreciated.
@@dunksalot6'1 definitely get the 29!!!! It also rolls so much better downhill and over bumps. You will not regret it I was in the same position as you - my wife doesn't even know i could have gotten the regular model lol but so many more upgrades with the plus so I got this one which was around 2k. They make these other bikes too that are similar and had great ratings. They put good parts on this bike for the price to be honest (for an electric bike). Other than the weight and the problem i had with the screws i haven't experience any annoyances per say.. do i hate the screen being in the middle? yeah cause it offers inconvenience to a light i wanna put there.. there isnt anyting i can really hate on thou tbh
