Some dialogue with the merchants was gone which may have further justify banning them. One tempest tried to give them other alternative type payments, two they asked them to wait a little bit more, and three to TRUST tempest. So Rimuru recounted this facts to dig his points deeper, they didn't take alternatives, wait, nor trust tempest. They also remove my favorite line of the chapter. "Trust is a two way street"
The duke also tried to suggest sabotaging the gold coins with the appraiser (told him to slip in fake coins) but the appraiser declined due to the amount of reporters present.
Also, in the manga, the reporters were already there before rimuru showed up because that noble brought them to report on tempest if they could not pay, not knowing that few of the reporters were under diablo's thumb.
Rimuru was already suspicious of Yuuki for a while (remember at the beginning of the cour he and Hinata said he was their prime suspect, which also means he's been suspecting him for a while to even get to that point). It was probably around when he got attacked by Hinata the first time in season 2 that he became suspicious of him (since as he said Yuuki was one of the very few people who knew his tie to Shizu). You probably know this already but season 4 and a second movie were already announced for Slime.
The thing about Elmesia is that she is intelligent and politically savvy. She's been Emperor for centuries. She sees much the same in Rimuru. He will likely rule Tempest for centuries as well. Might as well get in on the ground floor and establish good relations now and keep strengthening them over the years and decades to come.
Economically, there is alliance in debt. If a country has investment in another, they want that country to succeed so they can get a return on that investment. That’s why no matter what America does, almost every country is indebted to us or us to them and can’t afford, literally, for us to fall and the US dollar to crash. That would devalue the world economy and cause a global economic collapse.
The next Season of Slime will be much more action-oriented. We will also likely be meeting some very hype, very broken, allies adding to the Jura Tempest Federation's muscle. The world is not ready for the Black Numbers.
i really appreciate you guys because you didnt drop the show like many others did, but i also understand their side because this season was different from last season and the anime didnt adapt it perfectly like the show frieren did for example. However the climax is near and the next season will be peak, they cant do much wrong besides the animation and if they skip important information like this season. But whatever happens please believe in the show and keep reacting to it😅😂
Season 4 will cover one of the best arc of slime overall and the best arc lore wise... Means everything that happened and will happen gonna be revealed in that arc. The very center point of the story... (Volume 11 🥶🥶)

I'm sad that they animated/wrote this episode this way because I felt the manga did it much better in terms of showing Rimuru's ability to put the foot down and appear threatening when he needs to as well as the absolute state of despair the merchants were in when they realized they forever lost the opportunity to deal with what will most definitely be a financial powerhouse in the near future. There were also some merchants who weren't so into turning against Tempest but were strong armed into it, and those were the ones that were offered a helping hand in the end by Myurmiles. All in all I've noticed they've really kind of "wimpified" Rimuru in the anime. They don't draw him in the same threatening manner as the manga when those moments happen, nor do they give him the same lines which would make him seem like a badass who talks softly but walks with a big stick and pulls it out when he needs to make a point. He's kind of beta male-ish? in the anime. More power to anyone who likes him that way, I just prefer his portrayal in the manga. Some of it is down to animation style difference, anime is often "simpler" in drawing because of budget and time contraints but no excuse for dialogue.

That's true, I always noticed that Rimuru in Anime and Rimuru in the manga/LN is a bit different. Like The Rimuru in both Manga and Novel can turn serious when he needs to be, sure he still is goofy and childish who fears Shuna(Which personally I don't like how his subordinate can do that.) but in the Anime he is all smiley and wimpy like even his gestures and expressions are more Ruler like in the manga.
Yeah the manga is so well drawn, after the harvest festival rimuru looks ethereal in some pages, people keep saying anime is more faithful to the Ln and manga is a work of its own but right now the manga has been more faithful to the Ln while being beautiful, entertaining and concise, which the anime hasn't been able to do in 24 episodes
