Wanted to pass on something I learned not long ago! It's not actually the friction that wears-down the contacts in normal physical-contact switches; it's the tiny amount of arcing that happens as the contacts approach or pull away from each other. Little by little, that arcing corrodes the contacts. The diagram Varmilo used for the EC switch is cool with the big zappy arc to show how the contacts don't touch - but that's kind of the opposite of what's actually happening, and generally when compared with a normal switch. Normal ones actually do arc like that before and after they touch, if on an almost microscopic scale. EC switches don't arc (or touch) at all, and that's why they last so much longer.

I don’t agree. The Sakura is most likely the smoothest switch but Cherry MX Reds actually sounds nicer and more quiet imo. The Sakura is more high-pitched.
Happy i found an unbiased review channel. All those channels will review some big named brand product and fluff it up. its great to find a review channel that is serious and passionate and not just in it for the money. Keep doing what you're doin Techne!
Varmilo and Leopold are prebuilt out of the box endgames for me. Of course i have my custom thats better and all, but i would recommend them to anyone looking for the best off the shelf mechanical keyboard experience.
Is there one you would recommend more than the other? Was going to get the leopold FC750r with silent reds but after seeing these switches I’m leaning towards the varmilo MA87M
@@oikauapa right, I like their switches but I also like the high profile and the dampening pad on the leopold. Wonder why they decided not to go with the dampening on the MA87M with their unique switches.

What stands out mostly is. of course, the CALC numpad, but I LOVE the custom key caps and their themed legends. oh, and check out the secondary spacebar included. Fantastique! Built like a tank each Varmilo release pays attention to the smallest aesthetics and details...truly built for Keyboard Artists.
i only use full size boards. i wish more custom mechs would come in that form factor. also backlit with a volume knob. i have a one handed board for gaming
NIce video. But I have both cherry Red and EC Rose. And the EC Rose have a heavier spring. And that is also what they advertise it to be so not sure if the test switches you have is different or something.
I think that the weights are the same between the ec v2 switches, and their direct competitors, but the smoothness makes them feel lighter. That’s my take.

When I'm comparing to the Miya Pro (red/black/white board) it is using Cherry MX Silvers. Should have plugged that info in the vid, my bad.

I disagree, the Cherry switch sounds better imo. It has a punchier tone.
I mean it all comes down to preference but I personally think that the mx reds are a bit scratchier than the ec sakuras

Best sounding out of the box keyboard wow wow wow. Those stock stabs are incredible
