the starter needs attention, usually, the spiral spline that drives the drive gear is stiff so the starter motor is energized before the driven gear is fully engaged ans it rips the flywheel ring gear teeth.
the starter drive gear is damaged too.

Michael I have a starter that not only stays engaged but keeps cranking once engines fires up. No grinding is heard but I can’t for the life of me find the electrical anomaly after testing the starter, replacing ignition switch, and solenoid…any ideas?? I’d like to get on the water

Michael I'm trying to get the thickness of this flywheel where it mounts to the crankshaft. Do you have this number. Thanks

What it gonna cost me to have someone replace my flywheel? Are we talking thousands? Just wondering cause mine looks a little chewed up. Thanks
