All of the scenes from his rookie year, the game in old Cleveland Arena, bring back memories. I was there. It was a birthday present to me as a kid. His flashy plays almost caused friction in the stands as most applauded them but the Cleveland diehards got angry, cheering an opposing player and not a Cav.
Left-handed AND right-handed hook capability? Who's kidding whom? I saw probably 40+ Jazz games Pete played in while growing up in New Orleans and it STILL is my touchstone in life. What is, you ask? Oh, just that magic is possible.

I have a bio book on Pistol. You got to understand his dad Press.One example, Press would drive the road and have Pistol in the passenger seat. Pete had to dribble the ball while the car was moving. If he’d drop the ball Press would have him run back to get it. Press drove Pete like a new car. One guy who had some serious handles was Ernie Degoregio from Providence. If Ernie only was taller. I remember when Jerry West was playing. Last thing who the greatest? I’d start my team with Wilt. A great all around athlete. A track star, there film of Wilt playing the point. So I got Wilt, most would take Jordan. My next pick would be Kobe. Wilt and Kobe or Wilt and Jordan both would be unbeatable.
