Hi I'm Wendy a resin artist and crafter.
In this video I am trying out iridescent cellophane again with different colour backgrounds to see what the difference is.
The results are amazing and I am already incorporating this into more pieces.
I hope you enjoy the video.

I've found that if you add "nail art" to the search, there are many more colors of the iridescent cellophane...they are smaller pieces, but I got about 20 different colors

I love using the cellophane. It’s an affordable alternative that can be more subtle than diachronic. Try it with different colors. Red is amazing. Turquoise is neat and then mix 2 or more colors to get a unique Opal effect. I’ve made several pieces since I love, love Opal 🥰

@@Toonpish with making the faux opals, u would need to use less cellophane and use its sparsley, just here and there..not so much all over. And not too close to the surface. You would want to mute it a bit by not using clear resin on top, but adding just a little black or white paint to the resin and pouring that on top. Just don't make it so opaque on that top layer. :) hope that helps.

I love playing with anything iridescent! I like to take those molds for cabs of different sizes and shapes. If you take a piece of the cellophane and wad it up in your hands, you can put that small piece into a mold, (I’ve used the heart mold) and cover it all up with resin. When you demold the cab it is so beautiful! It almost look’s faceted like a diamond or something.
As long as you have the mold filled about halfway with resin and then you can put the cellophane in the mold. Make sure you have it all covered up as you don’t want anything sticking up from the mold.

All gorgeous Wendy! 🤩 I noticed one of my kids came home with an Easter basket full of iridescent grass. Some strands are more clear but others are similar to what you have there in the color shifting pieces. I was thinking to use it in strands or snippets for smaller jewelry pieces. Definitely going to save it. Thinking of all the ways it can be applied.. like all squares or all triangles etc.. ~~I saw Tish at Naptime Creations doing the holo color shifting pieces with some rather thick film about 6 months or so ago. She made sun catchers. It can be left in ..or removed afterwards if it’s on the surface. Seems like she said it was from the hardware store as a window covering to diffuse light or for privacy. Lots of options in several places for less money than items specifically sold for use in resin. ~~Love what you did here. Amazing how backgrounds change it up, isn’t it?! Thanks for sharing your beautiful art pieces with us!! 🌹🌹🌹

These are really lovely. The person may have been referring to diffraction grating, which is expensive, and I can only find small pieces. It has miniscule ridges on one side, and you can make molds of them which retain those ridges, and also the prism effects. The grating us very sensitive and c an b e spoiled by fingerprints easily, but if you're careful, great things can be had with it.

I love iridescent/holographic effects. I used one called Stampendous: Shaved ice and another brand: Ice Resin Opal (Aquamarine blue) and Ice Resin Opal (light green).. that one I can’t remember the name of 😆 to make Opal pendants. I added a very small amount of Interference blue to my resin, it needs to be pretty transparent for the Opal flakes to show through. Also, added few drops of Marabu’s rainbow glitter alcohol ink.. Sparkle!🤩😂 I poured a little of my mixed resin into a teardrop pendant mold and put each of the different colored Opal flakes in between layers of resin. They turned out really pretty. I hope I explained that well enough..in case someone wants to try it.😊 I got all the Opal flakes from Amazon but, I’ve also bought larger quantities of similar flakes from Lrisy.
