I loved my Spirograph when I was a kid, who would have thought 40 odd years later I’d be watching a genius make beautiful works of resin art with one! StunNing! ❤
Well, I don’t have the black scratch off paper, but now I know why I let nostalgia get the best of me and I purchased a Spirograph set a while back. Another great tutorial!
Yes! I got so excited when I saw it. It's easier if you pin down the ring piece. The set should have come with little red, round headed pins to hold that ring in place.
You had me laughing so hard because I find that the only way that I can use the spirograph is not looking too closely, or my brain freezes up trying to figure out what my hand is doing 😂 You are a delight and this is amazing 🙏🏻✨
You need to pin the large outer wheel down (that’s what those holes are for) and then you don’t have to think about it anymore and your brain will allow you to move forward. The Spirograph’s of days gone by had way more sizes and shapes and were capable of making some amazingly detailed designs. Plus if you buy the scratch paper with the rainbow 🌈 behind rather than the plain white… well…Your ingenuity mixed with your creativity is awesome. Thanks for that and good luck.
Love the one in the bezel. All of the effects are amazing. I loved Spirograph as a kid. But, hated when it would skip a spot. You definitely have to play with it. 😍
@daniel..cooper I typed this before you said "satisfaction", I had paused the video to think of the word I wanted to use, hit play and heard you say the same thing 🤭
Bless you, Daniel! I knew about Spirographs as a kid, but hadn’t thought of them in years. I’d never even heard of scratch paper. However, I’ve gotten myself and my great son who loves to draw each of them. I got him the rainbow scratch paper. Only you and your creative mind would have put these together and been generous enough to share your idea. You are a treasure.
You had me laughing out loud while trying the Spirograph. Things are pretty serious here in the US right now so I appreciate the laughs. I can't wait to try this.
I purchased 6 Spirograph sets and rainbow paper from online recently. 1 for me and rest for the neighbours kids. I’m slow off the mark and have it on the table ready to play with.
What surface are you using that you can use push pins to hold the outer ring? I love the idea, but I expect it to need a specific surface to work. Thanks 😊
Absolutely stunning. I bought my great grandchildren some Spirograph recently as remembered how fun it was when I was young. I had a go of it and my brain wasn’t working the same way as my hand 😂🤣. Great work Daniel as usual.
I made a crown on scratch paper for a friend that “thinks” she is a princess. Your way of attaching it to the cabochon is so much easier, using the dicro paper makes it beautiful. Thanks for showing a better way using the scratch paper!
I used this as a child, there was a box that you clipped the paper into, and it had a outer cog, so when you clicked the larger one in, it didn’t move. It was fun to play with. Your cabochons came out beautifully. Love the patterns you made . Thank you Daniel x❤
They are fantastic. Ive just bought a box with loads of little square scratch papers with colour underneath. I looked after my friends son and he loved them. This is a fantastic idea, that last one looked like a magic pendant ❤❤❤
@@daniel..cooper Oops! Didn't even think of that! Thanks for letting me know before I went and ordered the spirograph with the special scratch papers! Bummer, that would have made things too easy, wouldn't it? 🤣
Gold Leif glue is a really effective and handy way to adhere powders to *any* surface without adding any resin (and potentially adding weight or surface imperfections, potentially curing it too much to be sticky or not enough and it being gloopy).
What great ideas! I have a million additions and things to use this in. Nevermind my other questions, they were answered after watching to the end. Thank you!
I loved the scratch paper. We made our own. You color the paper first with pretty colors. Then you cover that with black crayon. Scratch the pattern in the black. It would crumble bits of black crayon all over. What a mess. 😆 🤣 😂 mom was a saint. Also, i was the youngest of eight, that made her able tolerate more. Bless her.
I agree with many of the comments. Ya took us back to childhood. The warnings are useful. Brilliant idea. The first one looks holographic. All were beautiful. Thanks again for another brilliant video.
These are absolutely magical! Can you use UV resin to adhere it to the scratch paper? Thank you for your brilliant ideas, and sharing them with your lovely community here!
Spirographs was one of my most favorite things to do as a child! WOW! This is amazing! I need to get me that cabochon mold! Nice job Daniel! Nice! 😊 💕💕💕💕
Your art is truly unique and amazing. I really miss you on the days you’re not on! I look forward to everything you share. You are such an inspiration.
Hi Dan, sorry I'm 2 days late in watching this. They're amazing, and I love all the colours. At school, we used to paint different colours on a piece of paper, then go over it with black wax crayon, and scratch away the crayon to make pictures. Love the scratch paper though, and I'm going to get some. Thank you so much Dan, you're amazing. xx❤❤😊😊
Brilliant pieces, Daniel. When you are using the spirograph, you may find it easier if you use map pins to hold the outer ring in place as it stops it moving, and you can then focus on the inner wheel completely. Loved them all but the dichroic one was out of this world.
Never thought the toy I played when I was a child. Then turned my son on to when he was growing up would be something I'd end up wanting to make jewelry with. SMH Amazing Daniel, just amazing. Thank you.
❤ I was so tickled by your coordination issues with the spirograph because that is totally me when I used to try it. 😂 Thanks for the giggles while we craft. These turned out gorgeous! I can't wait to give it a try.
Oh wow…I absolutely loved this! Love scratch art paper, haven’t used it since I was teaching. Spirograph, one of my favorites from my younger days. Thank you so much!
Dan, thinking of this method and a ton of the other stuff you have created in the past got me thinking about the goofy molds that we have around the house like a gummy bear mold and some Star Wars molds. Some of this stuff would be really cool with some less-than-typical molds!
Oooooh, Spirograph! I used to LOVE that! I totally get what you were saying about your brain not working with your hands. My brain was screaming, “Nooo!” and I was only watching you! What a fantastic result Daniel, ❤ I need to get me some scratch paper
I absolutely love watching your videos!! You are so creative and you make amazingly beautiful pieces of art. You are very inspirational, thank you for sharing.
lol I tried Spirograph recently as I was sorting my boys toys out (they left home 20yrs ago but the attic was full of stuff) I found I couldn’t do it to begin with either! Never thought of using it on scratch paper though - holiday project with my granddaughter coming up now -thank you Christmas presents for her mum + dad coming up it’s brilliant ❤
Oh wow, great, this makes me wish I had my spirograph from childhood, I don't think any of my grandchildren have one, or I'd be pinching theirs 😂. The patterns you could make are endless ❤. I love your ideas. You're always so creative.
Looks amazing ! I wonder how it would turn out if you layered it. So you start with the smaller design, then have the larger, deeper in the piece. Maybe even triple layer it. ♥
That last bit, that just looks like magic!
Crazy isn't it! Have never seen a piece act that way!
Awesome. At the last, have you dipped in dipin uv resin? Am I right?
I loved my Spirograph when I was a kid, who would have thought 40 odd years later I’d be watching a genius make beautiful works of resin art with one! StunNing! ❤
Thanks Sarah 😁 😊 🫂
Well, I don’t have the black scratch off paper, but now I know why I let nostalgia get the best of me and I purchased a Spirograph set a while back. Another great tutorial!
OMG Spirograph this was my favourite thing as a kid 😁😁. It was what sparked my creative imagination and lifelong journey with art and design
I honestly thought I would be able to just jump straight into it again but it was so hard! 😂🤣
Yes! I got so excited when I saw it. It's easier if you pin down the ring piece. The set should have come with little red, round headed pins to hold that ring in place.
These are absolutely gorgeous Daniel! What if you don’t have a Spirograph? Can you trace an image onto scratch paper?
Ooh me too, I LOVED Spirograph. I had it for Christmas around 1967 or '68. Great wasn't it.
Thank you for your constant warnings when using resin, when so many do not.
Thanks to you I now use black gloves and have a lot less problems
Very welcome 🥰🥰
You had me laughing so hard because I find that the only way that I can use the spirograph is not looking too closely, or my brain freezes up trying to figure out what my hand is doing 😂 You are a delight and this is amazing 🙏🏻✨

Thanks Wendy, yes but this was just to transfer the black coating, could always just bond the rainbow paper and leave it on 🤩🤩🤩
Love the one in the bezel. All of the effects are amazing. I loved Spirograph as a kid. But, hated when it would skip a spot. You definitely have to play with it. 😍
Wow, who would have thought something from childhood could give such amazing effects. You really are a resin wizard.
I agree re the popping sound. Definite satisfaction trigger there.
IKR 😍😍😍
@daniel..cooper I typed this before you said "satisfaction", I had paused the video to think of the word I wanted to use, hit play and heard you say the same thing 🤭

😂 The sound of the cabochons releasing off the scratch paper is very satisfying! These are absolutely stunning!!! What a fantastic idea 🤩
You had me laughing out loud while trying the Spirograph. Things are pretty serious here in the US right now so I appreciate the laughs. I can't wait to try this.
It was quite tricky 😂
I purchased 6 Spirograph sets and rainbow paper from online recently. 1 for me and rest for the neighbours kids. I’m slow off the mark and have it on the table ready to play with.
🤩🤩🤩🤩
My granddaughter has agreed to share her spirograph with me!❤
Absolutely gorgeous, Daniel!
Brilliant! ❤ Thank you 😊
Yay! Have fun creating 🤩
When you sanded the oval, it looked like a galaxy inside. Gorgeous
And we're off to add scratch paper to my shopping cart!
😂😂😂🥰
I think I'm a dyslexic spirographer, too! 😅
🙈😂🤣🤣🤣
Me too
Try pushpins in the holes of your outter spirograph circle. Then you can concentrate on the inner circle without having to hold on. ❤
What surface are you using that you can use push pins to hold the outer ring? I love the idea, but I expect it to need a specific surface to work. Thanks 😊
Definitely will, thank you 😁
Maybe a Cork pinboard 😁
Absolutely love the one with the film!!! Oh the possibilities! Thanks Dan. Cracking idea!!
Thanks Sue 😁 It's endless 🥰

Awesome 🤩🥰 Thanks Kim 🥰🫂
Another thought... that mat finish would be good for magical work.
That last one is so pretty.
Your experiments get wilder and more beautiful!😻
Every piece you make is my new favorite but when you turned it to the side and it disappeared my mind was absolutely blown. ❣️😻
OMG the last one defiantly worth the extra time and effort!
Thank you 🥰🥰
I used this as a child, there was a box that you clipped the paper into, and it had a outer cog, so when you clicked the larger one in, it didn’t move. It was fun to play with. Your cabochons came out beautifully. Love the patterns you made . Thank you Daniel x❤
Thanks Lesley 🥰🫂
The fancy one at the end was my favorite. But they are all so stunning. I'm so glad I happened to find you.
The larger patterns might be the perfect size for coasters.
100% 🥰🥰
The last one certainly was a show stopper! Brilliant!
Thanks Wendy 🥰
They are fantastic. Ive just bought a box with loads of little square scratch papers with colour underneath. I looked after my friends son and he loved them. This is a fantastic idea, that last one looked like a magic pendant ❤❤❤
Wow! I haven't used a scratch card for almost as long as since I last used my spirograph, so probably early 90s? Now I feel both old and amazed...
The ovals remind me of wax resist Easter Eggs! Beautiful!
So iridescent ❤️
I can listen to you all day.. between the accent and your laugh, I would be one happy American❤
Thanks so much 🥰🥰
You made a magical cabochon! You've made another beautiful, creative project. Thank you!
Omgoodness - my mind is going crazy with ideas for this technique
That is insanely gorgeous!! You are truly a genius...
Now I want to try this with holographic and glitter scratch papers! Off to order a spirograph! Wish I still had my original.... 😁
Remember that we only transfer the actual scratch part of the paper 😁
@@daniel..cooper Oops! Didn't even think of that! Thanks for letting me know before I went and ordered the spirograph with the special scratch papers! Bummer, that would have made things too easy, wouldn't it? 🤣

Wow spirograph super super thank you daniel sir ❤🥰🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏👏

Upper left corner of the Heart! But it is stilll so gorgeous!!!
That looks incredible!! Please show us how it would look on a coaster! Would love to see it on a bigger scale! Thank you for the video Daniel! ❤
Thanks 😁 Will do soon 🥰🫂
Initialed coasters!
Stunning. Now I need a spirograph and scratch paper.
That is absolutely brilliant.
Daniel you are such a blessing for the art community.

Love it, I have had a Spirograph in my craft room for at least 3 years knowing I wanted to use it when I started using resine❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yay! 😁😁😁
I really really love 🥰 how this turned out. I’d love to try this on a big scale; now to find big size scratch card 👏👏👏
Thanks Mary 😁 😊 🫂
You're quite correct... it's an absolute showstopper 😮❤

Let it lead you. Don't force it. Best to have an adult beverage and get loose first. You'll master that spirograph
Oh wow…I absolutely loved this! Love scratch art paper, haven’t used it since I was teaching. Spirograph, one of my favorites from my younger days. Thank you so much!

😂😂😂 So true!
Daniel you have a truly creative brain! So excited whenever you put up a new video.

@ what if you used the scratch off paper as a base for resin paper?
Been using these for a couple of years with resin
Absolutely stunning love the shine of the diclorish film.
Thanks Sylvia 🥰
Absolutely stunningly gorgeous Daniel 😍 WOWSERS ❤❤❤
Emotionally soothing to watch your videos.
