The Beatles - Aerial Tour Instrumental ("Flying" Extended Version)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2017
- An alternate version of the track which would become the instrumental "Flying" on "Magical Mystery Tour" with an extended, Mellotron-based coda. Small sections would be used as incidental music in the "Magical Mystery Tour" film.
Recorded 1967 - still unreleased in its full unedited version. - Розваги
“If you look to your left, ladies and gentlemen, the view is not very inspiring. Ahh, but if you look to your right?”
Best line in the film!!
👁️🗨️ 🌪️
... 😂👌
There definitely needs to be a deluxe Magical Mystery Tour box set with outtakes of each song on the soundtrack, including this, the other incidental music pieces in the film (Jesse's Dream, Shirley's Wild Accordion), and even "Carnival of Light"...all the Beatles strangest recordings from '67 in one place.
JEFFREY ROEDEL yes
But “Carnival of Light” was recorded on January 5th, 1967, so it should go with the Sgt. Pepper album.
@@thezombiecreeper Right, but they put out the Sgt. Pepper box set without Carnival of Light, so it could go on MMT instead as a bonus track if they collect all the non-Pepper recordings from 67 on it.
JEFFREY ROEDEL i know idk why they left it off
@@thezombiecreeper tbh I wish they would have done it Flying style and put it on Sgt Peppers right after Lucy In The Sky
I would walk to hell and back for that.
That feeling of wanting to go back to the past and staying there forever
They could’ve made some of the coolest experimental records of the 70s if they had stayed together. Damn.
Actually,by the time they broke up,they stopped making experimental and especially psychodelic music such as this
yeah. they became obsessed with pop hits
pop pops!
Well, at least we have Amnesiac & Kid A by Radiohead.
Both are experimental, great albums which eschew traditional pop music formulas.
Both albums created new musical landscapes which infinitely reward the close listener with each successive play.
@@kwarz-uf4hf Yes about the psychedelic music, not completely about being experimental. I want you/she's so heavy is pretty experimental and far ahead of its time, same for the whole abbey road medley and for Because. But yes, the whole Let it Be album was not experimental at all, but Abbey road was recorded after that and contains a quite some experimental stuff though.
This is how The Beatles soul sounds
Great comment.
Perfect.
Don't believe it! Is more than this!
Thank you for your deep comment. Agreed

Who's listening while high? Fly high brothers 💕 thank God for The Beatles
Jeez man this song is just such an experience while high I can't even explain it

That sound is called MELLOTRON btw. ;)
@@deplorabledani6080 Yep, certainly was. A Mellotron MK II
With limited animation, I take it?
Actually, yes lol I think that description is quite accurate! It definitely has that vibe/aura about it.
It is, the tve show's called magical mystery tour
This is what John and George heard on their way to Rock and Roll Heaven.
THE "SMOKER" AND THE "NO NEED FOR SECURITY" - FAB TWOSOME?
I wish this version was on the album it just fits in with the Erie psychedelic sound of Magical Mystery Tour
Nice pfp :)
I know right?? It should of been on the album
Whenever I listen to magical mystery tour I have to switch over to this UA-cam video before going back to the rest of the album
@@nicholaswise7982 I've just watched it. I love this version. Trippy as heck
Yeah they really screwed up by editing it down for the album. This is prime abstract ambience. I can trip to this anytime.
That little psych flute outro is one of my favorite parts on the whole record, always found that ending very transportive. Glad it was expanded. My favorite Beatles album by far. Smooth and trippy.
That's a mellotron played by I imagine john or Paul. john loved playing around with recordings, splicing tracks and playing backward tapes
its just from another world, amazing
It’s a mellotron
@@jordi9698 Yes I still have mine intact but that rare flute sound was partly destroyed when upgraded by the mellotron doctor himself Marcus Resch.

@@intrepidtraveller6002 I mean yeah....but that's the only real actually snippet that we can hear from it
has that been proven now as a real genuine Fab 4 piece? I thought there were questions about its authenticity?
@@julianciahaconsulting8663 yeah it's real, people have heard it, apparently McCartney owns it, he wanted it on the anthology but George vetoed it. It was a commission for the million volt sound and light Rave event held at the Roundhouse in London, on the 28th January 1967. They knocked it up at the start of one of the penny lane sessions. Too many fingers in the Apple🍏 pie I suspect for that to grace our ears anytime soon... Or ever. Keeping the myths and legends going is how you keep the cash cow flowing.
I've gone me a whole trip thinking this was a make believe version of this song and was so relieved to rediscover it
That trippy stuff that is at the end of the original version is my happy place, and it's cool to hear them expand on it.
I wish a new mix of Magical Mystery Tour would release, with this piece presented in its entirety as a bonus track. I absolutely love the strange sound effects of the extended coda and it's really such a bummer that they wanted to cut so much of it off.

Kept expecting it to segue into Blue Jay Way a few times. I wish they'd made a whole album of just stuff like this, You Know My Name and What's the New Mary Jane. Like early King Crimson but without the mental edge.
I was just thinking the same thing. It isn't much of a leap in sound or years to go from this long coda to the instrumental section of King Crimson's "Moonchild." I always wondered what The Beatles' music would have sounded like if they'd continued in this experimental direction. Dare to dream...
It Is alike the magnífic récord of George Harrison: Wanderwall music
Always loved this track and inspired many artists like myself , they should have done more tracks like this .
MORE THRILLING THAN HEMORRHOIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mellotron noodling at its best, ...and first, no doubt. Love it. Mixed with acid, and the feel of the times. Plaintive and beautiful.
I think the mellotron featured that banjo music heard here and on Wonderwall Music. Strange, really. He probably used it directly as it was a relatively unknown instrument at the time. The mellotron's 'mandolin' sound can be heard on Beggars Banquet - i forget which tune by i think it's played by Dave Mason.
And in The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill

THE SOUND OF HEAVEN !
THATS THE MISSING SECOND CHORD...................................
Or the music you hear on the way to heaven
Very Tangerine Dream-like!
Everyone is saying that this sounds like Pink Floyd - ish but it seems more fitting when the residents remade it
Good point.....but I get the Ummagumma feel when I hear this.
Yeah, reminds me of the Residents, too. But then they were the Beatles after all. They said so, it must be true! ;)
Lol...more like Pink Floyd sounds like the Beatles ;)
@Trereyes Mateos yes very Piper influenced... they were recording next door and I think the Beatles esp Paul got alot of influence from what the Floyd boys were doing at that point but they daren't release it because they knew Syd would be like Hold on a minute
The Beatles certainly weren't influenced by Pink Floyd. It was the other way around. Floyd always had their ears pressed against the wall, they were in awe of the Fabs and were invited in to watch them during the recording of Lovely Rita.
I feel like... I don't know... I'm just love it.
The last 4 minutes sound like a little part of Strawberry Fields fell out of the mixing desk, gathered some friends and jammed for 4 minutes :)
I haven’t heard this version before. Portions of it remind me of the opening music in the TC movie “Vanilla Sky”. 💕
Paul wrote a song for that film
The Beatles would have stayed together few more years. The world would've blessed with many more wonderful music. Sadly all things must pass.
Great experience while listening high
Bro I was thinking the same thing this song is just incredible when your high I can't even explain it
Glad you put this up and I don’t know why they won’t let it stay this is one beautiful piece of art
Maybe it has already been commented on, but the short section with the 'wack-a-doo' banjo also appears on Harrison's film soundtrack Wonderwall. In the UK at least, it came as an extended sample (or demo) with the purchase of a Mellotron. Harrison used the entire sample titling it "Drilling a Home."

( XII ) THE BEATLES :
TRUES STORIES / INCREDIBLES
FACTS :
When finally the Beatles
managed to recover from
anxiety, excitement, lack of
sleep and nervousness caused
by " that Mysterious And Fabulous
Experience ", decided to ask the
four cameramen to get together
with them to have the opportunity
to see and review the scenes of
recorded and filmed tapes corresponding calls by cameramen
of " Taken -- Phenomenon Celeste
-- MMT ". And they went and watched all the tapes revealed them
and were quite impressed, many
times reaching to doubt, but in
the end there was no doubt. There
was no kind of trick. And the
conclusion they reached is that
everything, absolutely everything
was very real and true. After a
certain time, after seeing and
reviewing every scene from start
to finish, the Beatles began to
argue and debate and also want
to try to understand it all. But the
Beatles still would face another
big Mystery on their hands.
Among the several questions that
were asked, these also stood out:
" Does the World will believe that ??"
" What would be the impression
that the World would have them
because of this event ???" " And
that ' Mysterious Voice' ????"
" Who would it be ?????"
( To be continued. )

You can hear the influence the Syd era Floyd had on the lads working next door at Abbey road
More like Vice versa. Im sure PF picked this up from the Beatles. But probably was mutual
The Beatles were never influence by Pink Floyd. Floyd were in awe of them and eavesdropped on them whenever they could.

It's bizarre isn't it? I made two videos, 'Goodnight' and 'Dear Prudence', 'Goodnight' was starting to clock up a lot of views and people were liking it, I didn't make one cent, just did it for the fun of it and they blocked both two or three years ago. Bastards!!!

I used a short sample of Black Sabbath on this vid: ua-cam.com/video/z32aO9pT4wM/v-deo.html. I got a notice that the copyright holders claimed ownership and all revenues from the vid would go to them. I'm perfectly happy with that, it's too bad all copyright holders don't just do that.

Although we are more accustomed to hearing this type of thing from Pink Floyd's early stuff, The Beatles did dabble in a little Space Rock for the briefest of moments in their catalogue.

( V ) THE BEATLES :
TRUES STORIES - INCREDIBLES
FACTS :
And the cameraman Aubrey
had more details to tell : " From
what I remember, the Ringo
looked like it had been speechless
since he had come to heaven :
did not say a word. The beatle
George, at times he was looking
at the horizon, some times with
fear ; other times not. I got to
shoot Paul McCartney especially
when he pulled back a bit from
the other Beatles and kept
watching the sky alone. Like
George, Paul also thoughtful and
quiet. John, always the most bold
and daring among the four, came
to the skip and jump from one
cloud to an other, as if it were a
child taken and mischievous.
The " Lookalike of Paul", after
recovering from the surprise and
amazement, began to observe
everything around you, at the
beginning with a certain incredulity;
but then he did not know what to
do and how to act. And the 08
pré - teens, after the huge scare
they had with this " Phenomenon"
and still not quite understanding
what was really happening, they
decided not to depart much from
each other. If they were afraid ??
Of course yes. That situation was
perfectly normal to feel it. I also
remember someone suggested
to them that they should sing.
And I and my shooting colleague
who was also floating in the sky
seen, heard and recorded everything
with great care and attention the
08 pré - teens gathering and after
a few seconds they began to sing
a melody and quite similar musical
tone the song " Flying " by the
Beatles. And when they ( the 08
pré - teens ) finished singing, they
were applauded."

TRUES STORIES / INCREDIBLES
FACTS :
And Aubrey continues to
speak : " When we all managed
to touch the ground again and
safely, without having the
possibility of suffering an accident
or even hurt our feet, I and the
others involved with this " strange
phenomenon " we feel our legs
trembling and without firmness.
I almost wanted to faint. The
beatle Paul had a great
difficulty to approach me and
to be able to ask if I had
filmed anything. His legs did not
seem to want to obey him. Tony
and I continue to use the cameras.
I said yes and I did not leave
anything out. Tony said the same
thing for Paul. I still managed to
see Michael Seresin and Daniel
Lacamore recording us and
filming us. The other people who
were present and who were not
with us to sky and saw everything,
approached us and wanted to do
a lot of questions for us. But now
to respond ? What ?? Explain how
??? Me and Tony saw George sit
on the floor, in the example this
being followed by Ringo. John,
who was still difficult to remain
standing and who was still holding
the girl's hand, decided to
release it. She excused herself
to him and walked away from
John a little and went to sit on
the floor." Tony confirmed the
words of his colleague Aubrey
shooting.
