it's absurd how good serral is. i don't think it's even an argument that he's the GOAT most premier tournament wins, a winning record vs Maru, and very rarely chokes.
@@aybay8723SonicFox for some of his greatest years comes to mind. He's had competition in some games, but for some years, he practically clowned anyone who even attempted to challenge him seriously in the fighting games he played, like Injustice or Mortal Kombat tournaments internationally. I feel he over his long years has had runs perhaps more impressive than Serral's 2018 epicness in his games. The Viper absolutely counts in his absolute dominance of Age of Empires 2 competitions for years. Like serral in 2018, it was so often a wonder in a tournament if anyone would even provide a good challenge. Armada maybe for a shorter run than Serral for SSB. Even though my favorite Jigglypuff main who challenged him often is forever my favorite in my heart, lol. If you want to go team games where a single player can't win it all like SC2 or fighting games, I'd definitely throw Faker's name into the ring for LoL - but it isn't the same thing, so I wouldn't count it personally.
Late to the party but great casting, man. I love the personality you bring to your content. As much as the Terran in my heart wants to cry about balance, I know the only balance issue is Serral himself. He's got the natural talent and also the discipline to refine it again and again through practice.
PiG, thanks for the excellent casts. You're probably the best solo caster ever, your knowledge of the game at pro level shines through and you do a good job explaining as well. I think what frustrates me about pro-level SC2 the most is, assuming otherwise equal skill levels, a good Zerg map is like an 80-90% win chance for the Zerg if he deflects a decent amount of harassment in the first 8 or so minutes. And even if he took a fair chunk of damage (albeit not crippling), as long as he can make it to 5 bases he's still got a good chance of winning. Whereas a good Terran map seems like it's a 70% chance to win it in the first 10-12 minutes and then it's like a 50-60% chance to win if the Zerg defended. Zerg lategame is too strong. Viper/Infestor are easily the most powerful casters in the game, and as long as they have a good meatshield to keep Ghosts away, it's GG. Just preventing infestors from moving while buried would help so much. And Protoss is just in a pathetic state right now. All year long, and it's been arguably the weakest race more often than not for as long as I care to remember.
Imo they should nerf the creep in some way or another, it gives too much of a defensive bonus which enables the zerg to defend a outrageously massive eco advantage. And Rahduset station is just the worst map design
Definitely getting the impression that Radhuset is a bit too strong for ZvT, that and equilibrium seem like they'd be the top of the veto list yet we've seen Clem leave it in even bo5 series so I'm wondering if he's had a lot of success with it in practice
@@motan7864 IIRC, like a week ago, Radhuset was 57% Zerg for TvZ in tournaments, albeit with a remarkably small sample size. Frankly, though, I find it bizarre that a map that's so friendly to 3-base turtle/contain, proxies, and elevators/drops and so _unfriendly_ to Overlord-scouting, Ling floods, and Roach pushes would be Zerg-favored. I suspect that in reality, Radhuset isn't pro-Zerg so much as it is anti-convention, and that there are playstyles which would allow Terran and Protoss to at least level the playing field, if not tilt it in the opposite direction.
The 1 game advantage make even more sense when you realize that Clem has not only already lost in this tournament, but this was actually a loss to Serral.
Clem is the serral of terran. He oversees his opponent move even with a slightest scout especially on early. For me clem is definitely better than maru. I'm a maru fanboy but his previous matches makes me weight how good clem is.
You are sure you are a Maru fanboy? Because Maru play the very same style against Serral in WTL last week and it was a 1-1 split, with Maru playing the same style as Clem but he was so much cleaner in both the set up as well as the movement. The map on Rahudset, Maru actually taking out Serral base mutiple time, where Clem failed to do it even once, and Maru actually survive much longer than Clem and Serral just edging him out in the end thanks to the 4th or 5th Fungal hit. Not saying Clem is not great or anything, but to say that Clem is definitely better than Maru, even in TvZ, is just incorrect.
In fighting games, in a double elimination tournament, the person coming from losers bracket needs to win 2 FULL SETS in grand finals. Being down 1 game is nothing
You're literally comparing apples to oranges, with very little understanding of apples or oranges. There would be no point in even playing the series if you started down 2 games, honestly, starting down a single game is already pretty back breaking. Winners side should get 1st and last map pick and that's probably it.
It's a double elimination tournament format. I'm comparing it to another double elimination tournament format. How is it apples and oranges? FGC plays bo5, where if the person from losers bracket wins the bo5, it gets *reset* back to 0-0 and they play another bo5. That is a MUCH steeper hill to climb than starting a bo7 down 0-1.
In that last game, I dont know why Clem trying to build 2 Tanks and 4 Libs at a time, wouldnt it be more efficient to make Libs and Mines? And more Bio Ghost army?
The tanks deal with hydras/lurkers, while wMines cover less ground and get out-ranged. Also, Serral was playing a non-standard style, making Clem guess around.
@@jonlots5260 And Libs does the same thing as tanks, so you normally dont make them BOTH at the same time. Normally tank is used for early and mid game stage but you want to replace them with Libs and Mines in later stage, with Ghosts and Bio. I guess Clem just never find the right army composition and just keep the same production no matter what.
Ok no more rebalancing of all the species. Terran just needs upgrades. Liberators need more air-to-air offense damage and siege tanks need be able to hop in any direction in siege mode but with a cool down so its not spammed. Lastly, widow mines should NOT reveal themselves when fired I dont know why this was changed. ITs ridiculous that zerg has favorable tech given any early, mid and late game scenario.
Yeah let just have terran only SC2. This is serral's play that make Zerg looks superior other race not Zerg has more favorable match against Terran. Get a life.
