Absolutely love World of Goo! Highly recommend playing through the first game. And remember to read ALL the signs! That's how they tell their weird goo ball story.
I assume you're being sarcastic. Because those challenges are outrageous and I don't believe (or want to believe) that Matt would deliberately play badly.
I remember playing WoG1 on ... I wanna say Kongregate? Back then I had more free time so going for the OCD challenges was feasible. This time around I might just enjoy the story. Those flags are brutal if you are short on time already
My mom wasn't into video games, except solitaire. For some reason, though, when watching me play World of Goo she though it looked fun and asked me to install that to her computer (a 2006 iMac running MacOS 10.6, for a measure of approximately how old that game is). She didn't play it much, and I think she only got to the second or third level, but watching you play it had me smiling all the way though. Thank you.
obviously goo and oil are the same thing i mean come on they both look slimy and wet and everyone knows they both come from sticky places like plants and the ground no one can dispute that goo and oil can both make stuff slippery and messy and if you spill them they both make the floor super shiny plus both goo and oil can be used for stuff like making things move better like in machines or even slimey toys it’s so clear that goo is just like oil because they both have that squishy icky feel that everyone recognizes so yeah goo is definitely the same as oil
World of goo is such a classic. Its a shame it got exclusive on epic, but I've waited this long for the sequel ,, I can wait a bit longer. I really hope it has a tower mode like the original does.
There is no tower free build mode, but there are several optional challenge levels centered around building similarly large towers in different environments
Usually when Matt plays a game, I'm intrigued to try as well. But looking at the challenges, I'm agree with him that they discourage me from playing instead. 4:15 my reaction exactly lol.
@@iwansays View the challenges as just for the really hardcore players. They're extremely hard in this one and frankly not worth it for most people. But the core game was very good and is worth the purchase price.
@@iwansays you don't need to complete all the flags ! if they were easy to do from the first playthrough then people who pour a lot of time into the game wouldn't have fun with difficult challenges
I... have mixed feelings about that game, it allows you to build the castle of your medieval enthusiast's dreams, but removes any reason to build such a defensive structure... For me half the fun of a castle building game is watching the enemy hordes break against my defenses.
@@Jwsponky sometimes you just need to relax and build something that is just beautiful, while not thinking about problems. So adding defense mode will just ruin the feeling of this game
The moving live balls also have weight and make the structures bend. You can tap and hold to one side to attract them to another place but they will default to getting close To the exit pipe. It helps when trying to manage balancing stuff
It's been a while since I played the first World of Goo, but this sequel seems quite a bit more difficult than the first., maybe they expect you to know (remember) all the tricks to play well?
if you disconnect the greens so they make a chain and they break it off so they are just two being held up by the suction you can then feed all of the rest into the output pipe.
wow, I remember playing this game on my netbook when bored at lectures in first year of uni. I don't study since 2014. Am I officially old? I'm not, right? Right? Also, first game had absolutely breathtaking soundtrack. Hope Kyle Gabler was hired again
For those going to buy the game: the game doesn't have options but there is a config file you can edit if you don't like how zoomed in the game defaults to etc. Clearly its made for tablets then later released "as is" with just the few things to adjust. :s
@@thesagaofblitz Agreed. I suggested it on another video. I don't necessarily think he has to make a video of the experience (although I'd like to watch one). I just think he'd enjoy playing it.
Try to get to chapter 2's boss level (the energy factory) as quick as possible. When you beat it, the game will reward you with the cutscene "An Important Message". It is really funny. (Please upload it)

Day 420 of asking Matt to play Mindustry
C'mon man, you gotta play more... Goo Bridges!!!
World of Goo 1 has a level named "Ode to the Bridge Builders".
I remember playing WOG on my first android phone, it was a great game!
I'm pretty sure I even managed to finish all the levels.
To be fair, you are playing the sequel to a puzzle game. That does a really good job at slowly introducing you all of its mechanics in the first game.
Don't forget to ALWAYS click the signs, they give you info
He doesn't have time to click the signs. 😅
The signs also have cool stories

Matt stopped himself from getting all flags on all levels on the first try.
So humble.

The flags kinda suck tbh, like, especially the time limit, that one is just pure hatred and anger
Really?
yes I know
i remember playing this game on my ipad 9 years ago
same, I actually held the height record for a bit in the free play part.
This is the sequel it came out this year!
@@willphillips2522 i meant the first game but thanks ☺️
This first one is my childhood, on a WII
Well, it is included with Netflix now

it was actually originally on pc i believe, and had a modding community.

There is a lot of efficient engineering in this video 😂 I’m surprised Matt or the editor didn’t point more out 😂
