What's up y'all, welcome back to another episode. Today we're talking about my transition from DSLRs to the Nikon Z mirrorless system. It was a tough transition when I made it years ago, but after being fully immersed into it, I have some thoughts and opinions I want to share with you! So feel free to watch the video and let me know what you think, thank you for experiencing the world with me.

The last time I actively used a DSLR for a proper full day shoot was back in 2021. I had already purchased a Z fc by then, but I still didn't learn much about it and the ergonomics on my D800E were far superior, at least in my opinion. In 2022 I bought a Z7II and forced myself to get used to it until it became as familiar to me as the D800E, which I spent the last decade using. 2023 September was the last shoot I have done. It was a fashion shoot, and I never had a chance since then to go out and shoot because of other life commitments. I am hopefully going back at it once the weather gets a bit better around November. I am also flying to Michigan on the first week of October, and the weather should hopefully be nice for some outdoor shoots.
One reason I don't want to eventually go to mirrorless is because I don't want to look at a screen. But if the screen is better quality than that of DSLRs, then maybe that's not so much a factor.
The screens are much better than DSLR, and have much more information.
Just go into a photo shop and ask to look through a mirrorless screen.
You will never be the same again (like me)
@@Digmen1 that was what kinda scared me, was I asked to see a mirrorless camera and then I realized I was looking at a screen. I didn't like it, but I could adapt, especially if the benefits are there :)
I currently use a dslr (Nikon d780) because at the time I purchased it it was like getting most of the benefits of a z6 (the z6 II hadn’t released yet) and I was able to build a lens ecosystem for much cheaper.
●Mirrorless folks will say 'Mirror-slap' & weight were the issues.
●Current Dslr users will say, we have robust & dependable Cameras & battery usage.Ovf is def better.
●But in reality, despite extra weight & older technologies the Dslr Market now offers amazing bargains on Bodies & Lenses. Mirrorless will have only marginal image quality gains.
Mirrorless bodies are still very expensive.
I had a Mirrorless body, sold it & bought another Dslr - presently using D750 & D810.
Complimenti per il video ed il canale. Io sono anche un fotografo di paesaggio ed ho una Z6 ed una D610 ed uso entrambe con ottimi risultati.
