In an interview with Angry Anderson, Angry made the following statement. No-one attacks guitar better than Aussies, he cited ACDC and The Angels as great examples of what make Aussie music. Guess what? Angry was 100% correct. In December of 2021 I say The Angels & The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. The concert was the best show I have seen in years. The Brewster brothers belong to a family with deeply historic musical roots.

hi simon - i just watched you on mark's 8 minute axe livestream and wanted to thank you for directing me here! i've been an angels fan since the late 70s [where they were forced to go by the name angel city, to avoid confusion with a pre-existing band with the same name in north america]. anyway, i'll be diving in to this lesson now - and, of course, i'll be looking for a similar lesson for marseilles now 😉
This is a great tune. More Angels at www.patreon.com/posts/january-2024-am-95148258. And next week there'll be a lesson here on Loves Takes Care - I also LOVE Marseille. Thanks for watching the stream today

Hi there, thanks for watching - what a great tune. Re pickup - yes that's a CC in the neck. It's not a Lollar though - I have a lollar CC in a jaguar and it is amazing - highly recommended!! Cheers Simon ps if you'd like to get charts, extra lessons and even more guitar content you can get that at patreon.com/simonmorel
I've never heard of this band or this song. I'm surprised they were able to use the name the Angels as here in America there was a girl group called the Angels that had a huge number #1 called My Boyfriend's Back. Anyway, this is a great song and a superb lesson as usual. I love the sound you're getting out of the tele. What are you playing through?
Mark they were originally called The Keystone Angels. Lots and lots of great songs. The singer passed away but they now use a singer Dave Gleeson from another great Aussie band The Screaming Jets. The Angels were as big as AC/DC in Australia. Saw them only a few weeks ago 🎸🤟
Hey Mark, didn't know that/ This is a great tune for sure. I've got the tele going into the amp absolutely cranked. I've also got an overdrive pedal in front of the amp on low gain, but high volum o push them amp even more. Amp's a deluxe reverb... Loud, but great!
Originally known in the US as Angel City. I saw them open for The Kinks in Seattle back in 1980 and they have been a favorite of mine ever since. Thanks for the lesson.
Hi Romeo, thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked the video. I'm sorry, but I don't think the chorus chords are Dm and E. Maybe you could play a D5 instead of the D, but a Dm wouldn't feel right. All the best, Simon
The song is so simple and aggressive and then suddenly this beautiful solo just appears in the middle of it. Wasn't expecting that when I listened to it.

i learned this song about 30 years ago. Lots of fun to play with a band. It's all about attitude. Use your picking hand and POUND those chords.

Great lesson, and an immortal song. Curious as to your neck pickup there. Is that a Charlie Christian?

Hi Simon, I love your lesson. Just a clarification, the chords to the chorus are D minor and E minor

The guitar solo is a window in a song .
That's a good way of thinking about it!
@@SimonMorelguitar I think it was a Brewster that said that, wayback.
