This saving campaign looks like a Belisarius Simulator :) I think Legend saving Roman Empire in any of these disasters are ones of the most enjoyable campaigns to watch
A Belisarius Simulator on crack. At least Belisarius had the backing and funding of the Eastern Roman Empire and his enemies were not united against him.
How to win as Western rome in 3 easy steps: 1. Abandon all hope 2. Have the gods spare your arse 3. Build garrison barracks *seriously though, the garrison barracks are some of, if not the best building to place in almost any settlement.*
I really enjoy this series Legend you seem happy again playing which is nice. Watching you play TWW 1+2 you just didn't seem like you were enjoying yourself.
This is one of the best (or worst lol) disaster campaigns I've ever seen. So much tension, so much drama, so much ups and downs. I know you don't like Atilla but can we do a few from time to time?
I would say a third episode would be great, first because the campàing is extremely cool and secondly because A guy that looses Hispania and Italia in 18 turns wont be able to secure Afrika. I would hand him a save with Africa secured by you and the Byzantine Empire, with steady income and all forces preparing an invasion of Spain. That would be easily managable for any Total war player and Hard to fuck up by a newbew. Its unlikely germanic factions will chase your Afrika holdings , and by the time they arrive they can be dealt with garrisoned armies. Hopefully the guy that sent the savegame also watched some of your videos, so he learns how to win city defenses with rome ( usually easier than with other factions). So far this is incredibly enjoyable and it really feels as a fucked up campaing.
Legend has got to be the best TW player in campaign in the world. He beats entire armies with a handful of units even in later TW games where that sort of thing shouldn't be possible. It's goddamn inspiring. As a side note, how does one run Attila? Its performance is ass even on my 1060 and i5 5500 e.e
No, just stop right there, as much as I enjoy his content, you cannot say he is the best, because he isn't, you said 'he beats entire armies with a handful of units', no he doesn't beat them, he exploits them. It's fun to watch, but it's cheesy and unskillful in every manner of the word.
I can do the same thing, however legend is just on a different level, I learned all of my campaign skills from him. Now, I can steam roll the Sassinads on very hard difficulty.
The number of episodes doesn't matter, it's the state of the campaign that matters. You've handed back 1 episode campaigns that were in great shape towards a path of achieving victory, and other campaigns you handed back in a state of the player probably losing the campaign in 5-10 turns (khwarezmian and cuman for example).
How come that your Comitatensis survive slinger fire? Whenever I face such foe mine get slaughtered by archers and slingers, regardless of defensive testudo. Its roughly 8 to 15 guys per salvo of one unit (no mods). Up to 30 if its some Hunnic archers or such.
The angle you're taking fire from matters alot, basically testudo saves you if your foe is shooting straight at you, if they shoot from the side you're just going to die. Also you want to be on flat terrain, if you're trying to be smart and face down a hill, that may aid your melee battles with infantry, but it mess up your testudo, so if you're facing alot of enemy missle units and cav, you might want to forego the advantage of fighting downhill. Also you might want more than just one unit there, cos if you only have one unit, and you get hit by the enemy that may mess up your formation, if you have two units standing on top of each other it adds dept and you manage to hold the formation more or less even under pressure, and then there's the added bonus that enemies will actually provide meat shields for you. - I've won many a siege battles by weaponizing the friendly fire mechanics. Finally you want to make sure the enemy doesn't have a hight advantage from where they fire. Horsearchers can be real borther, you're pretty much going to hope that the AI place them stupidly.
I have rome 2 from back when it got released, and I heard that they fixed it quite a bit via patches and stuff (it sucked when it got released). Is it worth playing or am I better off getting attila?

I can totally agree!
@@seanlonergan2749 Creative Assembly's next ground breaking strategy game!! Topics:Total Agree.......total war

my computer fan is whining just watching you play attila.
I vote for episode three and more. Right now, your position is still dark and full of terror. A reversal could return our heroes to the dumpster.
To support Legend and save time: Adblock->options->whitelist YT channels. That way you won't need to turn it off everytime.
what adblock do you use? because I can't whitelist individual youtube channels
He's using the Google Chrome extension "AdBlock"
excellent how you handle strategy
loved the attila "this is total war" campaigns, so i'm glad to see this...every episode had an I'm fucked moment for most mortals.

Anyone else notice the yellow outline looks just like a dolphin? 😂
The battles are my favourite in Attila. Love the adviser's voice too.
still enjoyable in 2024 thanks legend
My best struggle is wre love when u do these. Keep up the content brother
Woo Legend!
No dislikes yet? NANI?!
This is a particularly enjoyable campaign
This merits a 3rd episode for sure. This isn't unfucked... not by a long shot
I think the first rebellion in a province always happens in the last captured province, and the others around the walled city
It's a great fuck up. Please give us another part. Hit like that Legend sees it!!!
but i would suggest that you'd ask if you can do a campaign with it its the best fuck up yet
dope
How terrible the situation that dude created to the legend
this is great
*campaign officially un-fucked*

You need an I7 in my opinion. That Processor will be bottlenecking that game

*builds latrines* that’s some expensive shit
Anyone have any tips on fighting Denmark and HRE as Norway in late SS? 8 turns in and they’ve both attacked me lmao.
Secretly Ski your last living heir away, and 20 turns later have them come back and reclaim Norway.
you should hire merchants :))
Vasile Enachi soon the world will flow with merchants!
FIGHT FOR YOUR KUING
Revolts always happening in the capital is a thing from Warhammer, it was never part of Atilla.

Not certain but I've found it depends if your testudo is on higher ground that the archers. Appears to make a huge difference. Again, not certain.
@@LegendofTotalWar I'm really loving this saving WRE campgain. Someone needs to mess up the BI one now.
I think maybe it's because the enemy slinger shots are obstruct by their own troops.
LegendofTotalWar Could be it, in the most annoying case enemy was indeed on a hill. Or perhaps angle matters as well?

Legend your should try the bulat stell for medival 2, because it has new implemented addings that changes gameplay more then in stainless stell
