" Ah... I can guess to whom I owe this pleasure... " what a dialogue!!! But I wish they could have shown 4-5 men sent by Baron Gruner for that murderous attack. It's hard to imagine that he lost it to 2 men.
It's a pity that they didn't choose a more handsome and attractive man to play the part of Baron Gruner. In the book it says he was famed all over Europe for his beauty.
This episode is unique in its portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. He seems to attach himself emotionally towards Kitty, in way he normally doesn't do with other clients leave alone women. Next to Irene Adler, Ms.Winters is the only exception I believe??
I think he was also mildly attached to Ms. Violet Hunter. He was rather interested and please with her appearance and the way she presents herself to them. Even in the end, Watson said himself that he was disappointed that Holmes did not show any more interest on her after the case. So, I guess we could say, Watson is sort of, want Holmes to be with her lol which such thought had never occur to him even on the Adler case.
Evil Overlord rule number 88: If a group of henchmen fail miserably at a task, I will not berate them for incompetence then send the same group out to try the task again. Really, Gruner.
The most kind and keen of all. Basil was the hard core Holmes. Ronald Howard was the light hearted almost comedic but VERY GOOD Holmes but Jeremy was the man. If anyone ever got into Sherlock's head for real it was Jeremy Brent!
I love that Herr Gruner keeps playing Mozart's Don Giovanni on his grammophone. He certainly was a Don Juan of the most dangerous and kinky kind.
What a horribly proud and stubborn woman to believe so blindly in a man and not listen to anybody else but him

Especially since Sherlock is stated in the books to be extremely strong and an exceptional fighter.
I love how pissed off Holmes is. Even he can't detach himself with this one.

You are 100% right.
He does have a powerful manly charisma, though. And he is quite handsome, though not an effeminate adonis.
Yea it was stated that he was 42 but he looks like 59-61 to me
A fight scene without shaky cam, and all the better for it! Hollywood, take note...
a superb and to the point time episode for one flaw, a shrivelled mediocre man playing the mesmerizing charming baron...

Santi Auditore and she was a great friend
Shiva Venkat I believe that too
Yeah. Sort of like Bill Clinton attaching himself to a portly WH intern fat chick in the oval office. Only different.
But I felt he consoles her fatherly or brotherly way.
The bride is so contemptible and arrogant that she is rather well matched with her fiancé
Whn kitty showed her neck..only point holms had concern on his face

Really, Gruner.
Everyone deserves a second chance ... if only to keep the opponents busy.
They come in an open carriage and the driver puts up the roof in a few minutes for when they leave. What a foresight in a servant (it didnt rain).
Jeremy Brett what a perfect Sherlock Holmes!

I wish Watson was there when Holmes was getting beaten. You know Watson wouldn't let those people hurt him.
What a beautiful actress Abigail Cruttenden is !
it's alright Watson don't look so scared. he cared!
What a great Holmes Brett was.
he throws miss winter aside...
is this from blu-ray? thanks for uploading!!
Yeah, and I thought my wife was dumb!
Dear dear dear Mr. Sherlock Holmes The Best ever!!! ✨🤍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Holmes's bed is but a twin, maybe even smaller. Was that usual at the time? Seems at odds with the victorian comfort of the rest of his "rooms'.
Jeremy Brett ✨🤍 The Amazing Admirable Talented Stunning Wonderfull Hot Charming Charisma ✨🤍💫
