Funny how even 4 months after this we have aftermath analyst/Lumra added by some and being perhaps the best build, excited for the future of this deck for sure :)
I think the reason Amulet is so persistent is that it’s a very powerful combo/synergy that is also a lands toolbox deck, meaning that there will be an inevitable stream of lands and land synergy cards for the deck to consider, allowing it to keep up with the general powercreep. Interestingly the decks perceived difficulty and quirkiness has probably helped keep it out of ban consideration too.
Love videos like this! Nice to see the history of such a wild deck. I had a good friend at my LGS played the old list with Tribe Scout back in the day. He even beat Reid Duke on camera with it!
Very cool for us zoomers that haven't played amulet back then. Really interesting information to see how it evolved, and I appreciate you giving credit to all the right people!
Amulet has remained tier 0 or 1 through metas with KCI, Hogaak, Eldrazi, Oko, Mox Opal, Treasure Cruise/Dig Through Time, Faithless looting/Golgari Grave Troll Dredge, and to this day. The deck is always the most broken thing in modern and just avoids bans by being hard to play.

I played a valakut list and man i love the way you had to be perfect on your sequencing and mulligan to your advantage. That deck taught me alot about interaction and how to stack triggers and stuff, as i was relatively new when i built it. One if my favs though.
An excellent video on one of my favorite Modern decks I've ever played. Here's hoping MH3 doesn't make the format too inhospitable and long live Primeval Titan.
I had Bob's Idea at the end of 2023. but with mirrorpool won a small tournament in my local area and was on mtgtop8. I wonder if I'm the first guy to think of mirror pool. it was nice because mirror pool works better with the consistency given by mycosynth. plus it offers no extra risk compared to using an extra pact for titan. plus it leaves you with a bounceland in hand. I'm on top8 winning at the end of 2023

Fantastic video kanister. Very thorough and well researched.
Mattias Hunt did a great gob of missderecting the banhammer to summer bloom instread of amulet itself, keeping deck alive for decade at least.
Huh, well observed and true! Thank you, Mattias!

Love the deck and the video! Also q'ed to my first pro tour with Amulet so there is so much nostalgia for me
I'm the guy from Carrie's article - and I recently picked the deck back up again after an 11-year hiatus
That’s awesome! Thank you for laying the foundations for all of us!
Great Video, really enjoyed this overview of a truly beloved deck

Good job! Mirrorpool existed for such a long time. Bob’s lists are where I was able to pinpoint the tech getting widely adopted!
@@kanister can't be an amulet titan player without reading every land in mtg ✌️😂
This makes me want to put a pause on hammer time and give amulet titan a go.
You should!
