I've listened to this song a dozen or more times....and the layers in here are astounding. But let me just say, watching it touch two other people while listening to it, was just a little bit harder. More emotional. Both Asia and BJ at times were shaking their heads, closing their eyes, and letting out very telling sighs. There is something very powerful about this from both a lyrical standpoint, and from the delivery. Chris is hands-down one of the most consequential artists of our time, and I'm very happy to have found his music.
Chris’ voice is heart-piercing in every sense of the word on every performance, but for any of us that have ever been through a divorce, this song shatters the heart. No way can I listen to this without bawling my eyes out. Chris is the ultimate storyteller. Ain’t too many that can exceed that level of talent. He’s the tops!
Hes what you call a generational talent. Only 1 or 2 comes along in a generation. Right now its him and Adele. Before that though it was Whitney and people on that level. Chris pulled my Dad on Stage - a Green Beret and Vietnam War Vet - to sing the National Anthem at Vets Aide in 2021. Not only is he a phenomenal talent, but a good man. Hes the real deal 🔥
Just a country boy from eastern kentucky who wrote songs for other people. When eastern KY had a flood, he was there the next day. Good guy and so talented. Wow.
What's up guys great reaction!! Not a big country fan but Chris Stapleton Is Awesome! His voice storytelling Just pulls at your heart strings. That's the sign of a true artist.
Man, just saw him in Atlanta GA last Saturday. It was unbelievably good. I had goosebumps the whole show, if you get a chance to be present and see him live it is so, so worth it
His songs are simple but they say SO much. And whatever emotion the song is trying to convey, his voice gets across. He's the "country" Luther Vandross.
That man has more soul in his toenails than most other singers combined. He is amazing. For a very similar feel, check out a song called “you don’t care for me enough to cry” by a guy named John Moreland. You need to watch the live version though, because, to put it gently, you need to see this man in order to feel his pain. If you watch it, you will understand, but be prepared, it will bring you to tears.
Hey guys! If you liked this check out Chris’ Whiskey and You. Also please do some more Morgan Wallen. Here’s a link for his acoustic cover of Cover Me Up that is beautifully done. Perfection! Great reaction as always! ♥️♥️
I've teased Bj about Asia , I won't anymore, I admire Asia so. but it's my loving wish nothing EVER comes between them, this is a story of the passing of time and how things change, there is no love lost like the kind it takes decades to lose, I wish that to happen to no one it couldn't be crueler. that kind of loss will leave you down for the count and a iron will to get up from. some never do.
Glad you guys chose the LIVE performance from the Charlie Rose Show. Was afraid it wasnt when I saw the album cover displayed. No disrespect to his studio cuts but damn he is sooo much better live. Thanks so much for another great reaction. U guys are tops. If u haven't already chk out an often overlooked live performance of another if his original songs "Barely Alive" shot on a fan cam BEFORE he hit it big. Like this...him on stage with his acoustic shocking everyone with his voice. You will be glad you did. Promise. Mark
Love this artist. His voice is a one of a kind and a gift to the world of music. There really isn't any Genre he can't sing well. He has written for songs for many other artists as well. I think he's at his best songs are his more bluesy songs. Although I do love Fire away, Joy of my life, What are you listening to. My 4 year old Grandson loves him. Nuff said.
That is such a powerful line - "You can go, or you can stay. I won't love you either way." I feel like the long enough you go through life you find yourself in a relationship like this. You know that the love is gone, but you keep up appearances. In the end, you just don't care, you've process the pain, and just want a decision.
Yay! I was just thinking a day or 2 ago that I wanted to see y’all react to this one- I think y’all did “Fire Away.” If not, it’s a MUST y’all- The only music video he’s done, (so the video is a must) and for good cause...💖💙✨
Makes me think of me and my ex/deceased wife. We divorced in 1993 but we went back and forth living together until about 2012. She passed with cancer in 2016. No ill will toward her or anything but that love wasn't there. At least not for me.
Any song he does is perfect. Check out the songs he's written that other artists sang. And definitely check out his version of "Nothing Compares To You". Live, once, at a concert.
I love y'alls reactions, and you both are so genuine. ❤ Y'all should check out Chris' recent performance from last week and new song sung by him - "Whenever You Come Around" from the Vince Gill tribute show. You're in for a treat, trust me! 🔥🎤🔥 It doesn't get any better than some Chris Stapleton ❤
Such a beautiful voice. One of the saddest songs ever written. I had to listen to it twice before it really hit home. This man’s voice is perfect💕
It really is one of the saddest songs ever
One of the truest songs ever written.
THE BEST, SAD, SLOW, HAPPY, FUN, FAST, DOWN, UP SIDEWAYS, ALWAYS, JUST THE BEST.
Chris Kläfford with a cover of this. Just saying..
Such a great voice Chris Stapleton 🙏So beautiful 🙏
And he sounds EXACTLY like that live, amazing vocals
He combines country, blues and soul into this amazing sound topped with an unbelievable voice. FANTASTIC!

Our best songwriter of our times. Chris and Morgane are incredible.
Singer Songwriter from Lexington, KY.
Chris Stapleton is the GOAT. 🎸🎶❤️
One of the most brutally beautiful songs. This one and Daddy doesn't pray anymore both songs that to me are so highly underrated.
Hes what you call a generational talent. Only 1 or 2 comes along in a generation. Right now its him and Adele. Before that though it was Whitney and people on that level.

Your lack of words says it all! Love it!
Chris Stapleton sang the blues. I'm a fan for life.
Chris Stapleton is a bad boy!! Right there is a generational talent
Makes you feel every emotion
Just a country boy from eastern kentucky who wrote songs for other people. When eastern KY had a flood, he was there the next day. Good guy and so talented. Wow.
Wrote this album with him! Great friend!
I left that sh*t in May. This song helped, but I'm glad to say it doesn't make me cry anymore. I'm so much better off. P.L.U.R.R. from ATX!!
You are so right...his voice is a gift.
He can sing with anyone.
What's up guys great reaction!! Not a big country fan but Chris Stapleton Is Awesome! His voice storytelling Just pulls at your heart strings. That's the sign of a true artist.
Man, just saw him in Atlanta GA last Saturday.

Saw him in concert last night. Simply amazing
Wow- that was heart wrenching. This song gives all the feels.
Chris Stapleton... Fool me again.. will blow your mind!!!!
This man has brought back Southern rock grit to Country music
When he plays it’s like the guitar is like an extension of his voice.
This is absolutely one of my favorite songs.
He has one of those voices that just draws you in. Amazing ... 💯
Whiskey and you is also another great one, very similar to this one!
Chris is his own vibe but will always make you feel some sort of way. Keep up the great reactions!
Oh my gosh, this song cut so deep! His voice is absolutely chilling, and the lyrics are so painful and beautiful.
He is a generational talent. Thanks for reacting to it!

My husband and. Got there. 4 kids it was hard . We found our way back to each other and it is better than ever. We all go through it.

This is my daily listen straight after work , little sing along in the shower doing the song no justice
Since I discovered him about six years ago, I don’t want to listen to anything else. ❤️
He's a master storyteller. Ridiculous singer. He's great.
I’m not in this situation and never have been thank God but listening to Chris I feel like I’m smack dab in the middle of it
Check out Arkansas by Chris Stapleton. A FUN SONG
Love y'all's comments. I'm 💯💯💯 same. This is my next Karaoke dong. Tomorrow 1/11/24 trust
You used the song title for a pun! I love it!
Stapleton could call the hogs home for sure..😯
When you’ve been there…😔
Best singer ever
His voice is so good that it’s distracting lol. You forget that it’s a sad song.
Try some Black Keys, guys. They have tons of awesome songs, including some real bluesy ones. Try Next Girl, Lies, or Things Aint Like They Used to Be.
Great song and reaction 👌. Do Damien Rice, the blowers daughter and Elephant. The live version.
Elvis always my favorite but love Chris and his wife
Try ... What are you listening 🎶 to... he's awesome
Please do "The devil's gonna watch you burn."
