- By popular request! This is a quick video on how to change the front parking light bulbs to LED on a Late model W211. My vehicle is a 2008 E350. This information would also be useful to simply replace stock bulbs.
The bulbs I used in the video actually ended up flashing and not working so I had to reorder new bulbs that were “error free” or “can bus”. The bulbs that I currently have installed are in the link below, though any ones that are this T10 size and are error free should work fine.
The bulbs that I used can be found here: amzn.to/40tRSKK
Use of the material shown in this video is to be used at you own risk as I am not responsible for any damage done to your vehicle from use of this information. This procedure should only be done by trained and experienced automotive technicians.
Here is a quick link that will take you straight to the bulbs that have been working for me for the past 5 years amzn.to/40tRSKK
Didnt work for me. Kept flickering
@@Woohallie The biggest one’s with more LEDs worked for me. Sometimes you have to 180 them but sometimes it just take buying and returning some from Amazon until you find one that work unfortunately 🥸
I just got an E350 I'm changing the lights to blue u made it look easy thanks!
The w211 2009 - the light setting in there seems different. It has a little lighted clear plastic that’s about 1.25” long.
is LED
Do you have to twist it or anything or do you just pull and push back in?
It doesn’t need to be twisted, however sometimes this can help break it loose. But it usually just need to be pulled straight out.
I know this video is 2 years old but The bulbs you linked in the description give you any error messages in the dashboard? It’s difficult to find white led parking lights that work 100% with Mercedes. I have a 2012 c250 by the way. Thank you
Dang has it been 2 years already?! :O Anyways, yes i am still running all the same LED bulbs from all my videos. I have not had to replace any so far. Still using all the originals.
Mercedes Tech Oh wow that’s amazing thanks man!!
I gave up on my W211, I went for original blue coated T10 instead.l
So, I don't understand - What did you do to stop that flashing/blinking? Did it stop by itself? Is this normal? I bought on Amazon some YITA Motor LED lights (194) and they start flashing. Should I just wait until it stops?
Владимир Нагорный I had to replace the bulbs that were flashing with “CAN Ready” ones that don’t do that. The first bulbs I put in weren’t CAN ready
@@MercedesTech Thank you
@@MercedesTech I've tried over 20 different bulbs, even the most expensive ones and CAN ready,,, They still flicker...Cant go with resistor, cuz it gets hot.
@@garysargsyan4998 damn
This flashing happens when the LED has too less resistance. It needs to have soldered resistances to light up constantly. And you won’t get a CAN BUS error
i have a 2008 e500 with bi xenon and it is completely different
I’ve tried the Philips led they don’t work so im kinda of hesitant to get some more led
Yea I had to try a couple different ones. I’d return them if you can and get different ones. This is why I use Amazon, because they allow returns on electronics if it doesn’t fit or work
How you fix that
Can you add the link to the one that you bought that works please!!!
Christian Garcia I apologize for the late reply and I’ll find the link and post it here
Hey mercedes tech i know it’s been a long time but I used the auxito leds I have the same car e350 2008 but they started flashing and then after when I put my regular halogens in even they don’t work what can I do to solve this issue I’m really worried
Is there corrosion on the contacts? Even if you can’t see it sometimes there is a layer of something that builds up on metal contacts that can cause extra resistance or poor connection. I would try cleaning it with something abrasive like a wire brush or sharp tool and see if there is an improvement before thinking about anything else
I just bought new halogens and they are working now but they are very ugly orangish color are there any other leds that you can recommend that might work on my car thank you so much.
So the halogens are working now? Have you tried flipping the leds around? They usually only work installed one way. If not just shop for a different t10 led bulb set that says it’s CANBUS ready
Can you recommend anything to keep the light itself in better? Mine keeps falling out
Perhaps it’s not pushed in far enough? Usually they sit pretty tight. Never seen that issue before. Maybe add some material around the holder like tape or something?
@@TJ-zs1pl Dude I tried to get those brackets and light connected right till my fingers were raw. Ended up getting out the super glue put a tiny bit on the flat metal surfaces where it normally sits hasn't moved since. when I need a new light ill just break the glue seal.
@@TJ-zs1pl yee
tried three different canbus leds in my w211 06, none of them have worked. The regular dayrunninglight i got first led converted, after that i went xenon instead, both worked no problems, but that little pesky w5w or whatever its called, cant get them to work, last ones that i tried, atleast the computer stopped nagging about having dead lamps, but no light... and when i used the original halogen ones, they popped so often, maybe because under the hood to often hehe :/
That is odd, i haven't tried to put LED bulbs in pre-facelift w211s yet. The only think i can think of trying is flipping the bulb around. The LED bulbs are polarized i believe, which makes them work installed only one way.
@@MercedesTech yepp, they are polarised, tried flipping them, same problem, really weird
I think adding a 5 watts resistor between the bulb and the sucket should help fix the problem.
Edem Kay that’s always possible, if you try it let me know if that works 👍🏼
@@MercedesTech it works bro
Can you provide a link of the resistor you bought/have. And also does it get super hot, I’ve heard the resistor can melt through the housing.
@@k.k202 For 12vdc how many ohms?
I installed some LED bulbs for my High Beam lights and when I turn the switch for them to come on they wont come on. Would you happen to know why
McKinley Smith probably need the additional CANBUS harness from the supplier you bought them from. My low beams and fog didn’t work without them. Front SAM is probably not letting them come on because the the resistance is wrong.
@@MercedesTech is that like a block of something that'll give it more power
It’s a inline harness about a foot long that really is just a resistor so the cars computer thinks the factory bulb is there.
Oh well I have a resistor. Do you think that'll work
McKinley Smith I don’t know what the correct resistance is. It’s highly recommended to just contact the seller and tell them you need them. They’re usually free.
W219 2005 cls. Did not work. Its just blinking. I tested 2 different. Can bus ready led bulbs 2 different brand. But still same.
You can try inserting them 180° but otherwise you’d have to find as brand or bulb that doesn’t do that
I tried with a couple of LED bulbs with CAN BUS and they just blink a couple of times and are dimly lit and won’t go off right away... How i can fix that?
Niko Niko have you tried flipping them and installing them “backwards”? They usually only work in one direction
@@MercedesTech i tried everything...
Well I’m not sure which ones you bought but, the only problems I’ve ever encountered are either the bulbs being faulty/ wrong ones or in backwards. You very well may have to try another set. Is your vehicle a post 2007 car?
@@MercedesTech a tried a 4 different T10 CANBUS... Yes 2007 E200
4 from the same pack?
Hello from Germany ✌
Are these LED bulbs still work today?
Yes they do. Still on the same set
@@MercedesTech Thank you my Friend ;-)
@@MercedesTech Thank you my Friend :-)
Is the original bulb a t10?
Yes, the original bulbs are T10 pill bulbs
does this affect the high beams??
No, highbeams work as normal
Mercedes Tech that’s great to know! might start doing it to mine now!! thank you for the helpful tips.
Mercedes Tech and will there be a video on how to chnage the w211 fog lights? i might want to go for a yellow led but i’m not sure of specs. if you know, do you mind sharing?
@@marwanalaassar183 Yes, i actually have the fog light video recorded just need to edit and post. Will be adding this and the interior LED bulb instructions soon.
Are there two lightbulbs in there?
It has the small bulb underneath the much larger fog light bulb
I have an '04 w211 estate wagon. Bought the AUXITO 194 bulbs in the link provided. Bulbs flash on and off slowly no matter which way you turn them. Bulbs are even marked "CANBUS". Garbage!
In sorry to hear that! My guess is that your pre-facelift w211 has some slight differences in bulb sensitivity. I suggest you just return those if you still can and try a different seller/brand/bulbs. Also, be sure to try more than just one set of bulbs from the pack, but im guessing you already tried that!
Same problem with my 05
@@Rhilton27 same with my 03 break
Boutta install mine right now. Do I need to handle these LEDs with gloves on?
No, they are not like HID bulbs. You can install then normally, just avoid touching the yellow LED in the center I would say.
Folks, get this bulb from Lasfit: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076HNCT8H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Do you have these installed to your Benz?!
sometimes u gotta flip it bro thats all , if its canbus free it should cut on
Antonio Uzzle yea, I believe I tried that, but then realized the ones I bought weren’t advertised as Canbus ready
Mercedes Tech did u get them? ill drop a link if not
@@uzzle21 drop it
They're not going to give you a harness for free
McKinley Smith they will if you buy the bulbs from them usually
CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!
Turn up your volume 🤷🏻♂️
@@MercedesTech The volume was all the way up. The volume in your video was recorded too low! Otherwise, it was a good video.
@@henrylong45 its true, too low and too much noise as well
