Great helpful video, I have just bought my first one that I want to tidy up. Could you tell me what you cleaned yours with and what the preserver was you used please. Thanks
Welcome to the world of petrol can collecting! If you've got original paint just wash/degrease as much as possible. We find fine wire wool or a scotch pad helps remove surface rust or staining and then oil, we used Owatrol here although just an oily rag wiped over, WD40 or even a clear lacquer all help preserve the look. If there's plenty of paint then a car polish with clean it up well.
Nicely done, very jealous of that workshop 👍
Great vid love what your doing greetings from west coast Canada

Hi good video what was the oil you used to cover the finished and restored oil can ?
Wd40 it’s a great cleaner and for protection to stop surface rust. I don’t know what the other oil is he used
