Palmer was an awesome talent, His earlier hits were "Every Kinda People" and my personal favorite, a uptempo rocker titled, "Bad Case Of Lovin' You (Doctor, Doctor)" Robert died of a heart attack at a fairly young age of 54. Don't know the contributing factors to his heart attack but he was known to be a heavy, heavy chain smoker. I read somewhere that he smoked something like 8 to 10 packs a day or more.
Yeah, I agree "Addicted to Love" should be next; more pretty ladies in this video too (mock playing a variety of instruments). Robert and I were born on the same day though I popped out in Cincinnati. RIP Robert
Addicted To Love is one of Robert Palmer's best known songs. Shania Twain's official video for Man I Feel Like Woman is a take on Robert's video, he has female models in his video and she has male models in hers.
Hey Shawn!!! Re-Listen to the Breaks... there's a "Whip sound, then a Bell DING" that, IMHO represents a .... Male Getting "Aroused" (wink-wink) .... A "SCHWING" if you will... His Other, Similar Song, is "Addicted to Love", with the Same Girls!!! You're Welcome! ~~ *Daytona Snooper*
This was his 80's run.... Addicted to Love is probably his biggest hit... Check out debut album 1975. First 3 songs are a trilogy... amazing! Studio version! There is a yt vid that is studio with the following 3 songs: Sailin' Shoes Hey Julia Sneakin' Sally through the Alley Hope you react to it!!
When I think back on videos from the mid-80s, the visual of the lookalike brunettes oft times comes to mind. Whether from this classic video or his other huge hit Addicted to Love where they’re playing guitars. Iconic stuff.

Robert is spitting the truth of this song: In every man life there's that one woman that's so fine, there's no telling where the money went! You'll spend your last time to hold on to the little wild thing - you're in a feverdream of love and under her spell. Great song Shawn, thanks for all the hard work.
When i hear about Robert Palmer, i think about the Cure's performance at werchter festival 1981) The Cure was told to cut their performance to make way for next act, Robert Palmer. And now we have a video of extra long version of their song "A forest"🔥 i think you'll like it too) as well as the Cure’s performance with this song at the same festival on the main stage in 2019
Had the opportunity to see Robert Palmer in concert before his MTV success, at an outdoor show in Massachusetts in 1978. At the time his biggest hit had been a medley of "Sailin' Shoes>Hey Julia>Sneaking Sally Through The Alley", from his album "Sneaking Sally Through The Alley", and his previous record "Pressure Drop" had one of the best album covers ever. In addition to "Addicted To Love", Palmer had some hits with The Power Station, a cover of "Get It On (Bang-A-Gong)" and "Some Like It Hot".
This song cracks me up now when I hear it…was a crazy big hit, however I wasnt really crazy about the video, crazy wierd to me at the time. Lol and then the line comes…”she’s so fine, there’s no tellin where the money went” not good, sort of depicts women in a bad light 🤔 Definitely a man’s “anthem”…ohhhh so wierd to me now Lol And not to pick on him at all because he was a great singer, but it sorta changed the dynamic back then in the 80s I felt like women started getting treated like “meat” for lack of better word. Not respected as much but not totally his fault just these types of songs didn’t help 😏
This song is great but ~~~~~ he has So Many other great songs to react to ~ many that never made it on the radio. Check out his album, Clues or Secrets or Rip Tide. You will not be disappointed!!
I really like his debut album Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley, which was backed by The Meters and Lowell George from Little Feat, so it had a New Orleans funky sound to it. The title track is well worth a listen, peace Shawn.
Great Palmer songs--ADDICTED TO LOVE--BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU---SOME LIKE IT HOT(with the group Power Station)--BANG A GONG(Also with Power Station)--SHE MAKES MY DAY--I DIDN'T MEAN TO TURN YOU ON--EARLY IN THE MORNING
I hate a lot of his crappy, commercial 80s songs, but there are some Robert Palmer songs that are fantastic. Sneaking Sally Through the Alley, In My System, and Every Kind of People are really good ones to check out.

Gotta love Robert Palmer. This song freakin rips, and the video enhanced instead of detracted from it.
Mr palmer is sorely missed😢

Addicted to love is a must for Robert Palmer (R.I.P.) Solid and fun addition to my upbringing.
AGREED!

Doctor Doctor is my fav RP
Absolutely iconic music video. An entire generation of late '80s young men (and middle aged and older men) found it simply irresistible.
This was his 80's run.... Addicted to Love is probably his biggest hit...
Check out debut album 1975.

Just about anything off of his album "Riptide" rocks.

The single, Bad Case Of Loving You, ( Doctor Doctor) had its debut on an early episode of WKRP In Cincinnati. In 1978.
It's funny because a multi-syllable rhyme is known as a feminine rhyme, and it's all over this song.
Robert Palmer- I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On (1987).

A must to listen too is Robert Palmer and UB40 singing I’ll be your baby tonight. A proper feel good song
You want to hear a banger? Check out his song: Sneakin' Sally Thru the Alley.
The shirt and tie, can't go wrong with a little class.
"Every Kinda People" was a huge hit.
I highly recommend checking Robert out with the super group The Power Station. Bang a Gong and Some Like it Hot, official video.
