Mr Richard is such a pleasure to work with and HIS SWING WORKS! My son Aiden has been going to see Rich several years and he has helped him so very much! Our sessions are on our channel and seeing how Mr Rich interacts 1 on 1 speaks volumes to what kind of guy he is

I agree….when I’m hitting with my son and it all comes together on a nice barrel, there is no other feeling like it. And I’ve been hitting for several decades. The stretch & fire with the snap feels amazing. It sure has made hitting fun for me and my son too! Great interview.

@@shabba3450 i really like that quote and going to steal it 😀. I’m on the same boat and figuring things as we go. it really puzzles me how others just do it because that’s how it’s been done all along. Why and How are two of my favorite questions to ask.

I’m a bit confused on the shoulders. I thought the shoulders did rotate with the hips because you are supposed to establish yourself as one unit. But in the demo at the end, correct me if I’m wrong, Richard mentions not rotating the shoulders with the hips/butt. Love your passion for this Rich, really determined to link it all together and figure it out! Thank you for your work!

I was a HS catcher back in the early 1970s. I had lots of power. I wish I had this instruction back then. I was relying strictly on my athletic ability but never really addressed hitting mechanics probably because I had lousy and incompetent coaching.

Hey Rich… first of all, love your content. Second of all, there’s another analogy
I think would maybe be beneficial in your teaching. Maybe say that the hand pivot point is like setting a nail into a piece of wood, and the leg pivot point is like the hammer that hammers the nail into the piece of wood (bat into the ball).

Listening to you explain this Visually in my head, I think more of Gary Sheffield, but the video gives me bonds
    If that makes sense

In today's game when you are facing guys throwing in the upper 90s MPH, quickness is very important. That is why Richard's method is the best there is.

But barry definitely had his “eye on the ball” its just very in front, he said he was able to pick up what pitch it was very early on, so his eyes start forward but are still right there in that video. Great stuff tho. Wish I had found you when I was in high school!

Actually it’s about runs. Baseball isn’t just about barrels. It’s a team sport about scoring runs. If it’s about barrels where did the bunt come from? Because the main goal is RUNS! Who cares how you get them!

I researched two of the top hitters of all time in mlb history and they do not swing like this. Suzuki Ichiro and Pete Rose. I believe Ichiro has the most hits per at bat in the mlb and rose of course has the most hits
