For those looking for actual leader lines instead of hand-drawn ones (like I was when I initially clicked on this video), here are the steps: 1. Right-click on the layer you're working on in the "Contents" pane. From the menu, select "Labeling Properties". 2. In the new "Label Class" pane, click "Symbol" at the top. 3. Scroll down and un-collapse the "Callout" menu. 4. Change the drop-down field from "None" to "Simple line". 5. Mess around with the properties of the leader lines using the new options that show up.
If you add leader lines using callout, then convert labels to annotations (because you want your labels placed in not-stupid locations), does the leader line automatically update between the feature anchor and the new position of the label? Didn't seem to do so for me.
You may want to change you title to remove the term "labels," since you are working with annotation, per your voiceover. I'm looking for instructions for moving and applying leader lines to labels. Thanks.
This is a pretty hacky way of doing this considering leader lines can be enabled in labels inherently. Map notes are geographically aware and can absolutely represent spatial features, which is why it's strange that you're using them for non-geographic cartographic leader lines instead of using Pro's leader lines function.
