To not believe they are okay and will be okay regardless of obstacles is missing how deep two people's connection can truly be, it is beyond memory, it is a core feeling and that is why Sarah leaves initially, she is feeling every bit of her relationship with Chuck, that it has been suppressed and she cannot attach the feeling to physical memories, she tells a lie trying to distance herself from her emotional baggage..even her brutal attack is because she is in denial; the truth means her life was stolen and she was used and manipulated....that wouldn't be easy given that it means she had more than just a CIA career It is all very nuanced writing even though it is unpopular

When I watched this first time, it was night and I started to crying and yelling then every family members looked at me. I'm watching this again, I'm feeling the same emotions and of course I'm crying. :)
Chuck and Sarah, unlike ANY other tv couple, really hit me hard ! I can feel Chuck's emotions - his rejection, humiliation, love for Sarah and the hurt when she doesn't reciprocate his feelings. She's so beautiful and such a good actor that she makes ME feel rejected, hurt, etc. I'm not a touchy feely guy and I never have a rat's ass if Hawkeye never hooked up with Hotlips Hoolihan, or if House hooked up with Cuddy. Or if Tony and Ziva hooked up. Never cared! But Chuck and Sarah ?
Personally one of the most underrated actresses in terms of beauty. Many other actors get mentioned but Yvonne Strahoski does not in my opinion. For the longest time she was my crush hahaha
when they wipe her memories a girl who is seriously dangerous, and then a cia lie to her at her most vulnerable spot were she feels defenceless people saying to trust her and telling about memories that she doesnt seem to recall, made her more confused and hard to trust anyone.
Even though she claimed otherwise, the speech made her remember that they were in love, even if she still couldn't remember all of the specifics about it. You can hear it in how she says "this is real?". It's also why she doesn't just shoot him and take the intersect glasses. Even Quinn must've realized it. It's why he tries to shoot her; it otherwise would've been much more advantageous for him to let her shoot Chuck first, and then kill her
Actually watching this again in detail, I noticed that Sarah isn't even motioning to pull the trigger, she seems very conflicted, I wonder if she would have had they not written their names on the frame. Quinn always pipes in at the worst of times in that episode, each time Chuck manges to get through to her
I think she constantly hesitates to kill Chuck every time she has the chance in those two episodes because in her subconscious she loves Chuck but she doesn't know why.
I think she would have. I'm sure she's been conflicted before about killing people, and still pulled the trigger. Remember, she has what she thinks are her orders, and this is Sarah the Wild Card Enforcer, Graham's personal hitter. I think seeing that name saved Chuck's life.
Of course not. It's all in her voice and body language. She feels it but can't understand it. Plus, why would she look to the side? She was subconsciously looking for where she had carved their names.
I remember watching this scene years ago, without knowing the series or the context. Yes, it made me cry, too and it is cruel. But even back then I thought it is amazing how much tension there is between them. She does not remember and does not know if to believe him. Only when seeing the carving she recognizes it and the memory interferes with her mission. It is really sad, but this is the beginngin of the turning point for her believing him.
She realizes he's telling the truth after he mentions the red door and white picket fence. She knows she wouldn't have told just anybody about those things. You can hear it in her voice, and it's why she asks him why he won't fight back. And Pre-Chuck Sarah wouldn't have been so worried about him after Quinn shoots him. So she's remembering her feelings, she just doesn't understand them.
Yes it wasn't a very very happy ending like everyone thought but it wasn't a bad either and i dont understand the complain .you don't always have to see characters laughing and having kids for happy ending ..if the ending has kept the audiences longing for more it means job well done (there have been shows with happy ending and ppl forget about it in a week thats why chuck is so unique) .The ending had everything heartbreak emotions love most importantly that even after saying she didn't feel anything which she lied and denied her feelings were wrong because she couldn't find a memory to connect to with the feelings she couldn't leave. She comes back to ask for help when she could have gone anywhere just to try to get to know him as she was acting as a spy and after getting used she was angry and pissed had shut everyone off because accepting the feelings would mean that she had something special and she lost those special memories she made so she tries to convince herself that it wasn't a big deal . she says she will disssappear once Quinn is dead but then tells chuck that she needs time to be alone to think when he asks about starting over (after coming back from last mission during which she yet again remembers the virus she is scared to accept the fact that she has feelings and whenever chuck is around she remembers something related to the past but tries to act its no big deal ) and leaves yet again she is unable to leave and finds herself at beach just realizing the fact that its important...chuck is there and he asks her to trust him nd he will support her no matter what she does where she goes (he doesn't force her into doing anything that he wants) at that moment she realizes that how much love he has for her and how much hurt he is and she breaks down in the same scene after feeling his pain because she can't see him in pain . she realizes it's actually her love for him that she couldn't understand at first that keeping her from leaving and finally opens up..".Chuck Kiss me"....even she knows that its a silly idea but before chuck can laugh it off she uses the opportunity to ask him to kiss her because she now knows what she has been missing this is the life she wanted and she wants to be loved like that again (with hopes that oneday she will indeed get all her memories back with the kiss at least giving her few more imp memories) as they kiss you can see at the end she doesn't stop chuck from going for 2nd kiss and they keep on continuing after that.
What I don’t get is how she remembers Bryce Larkin and how to be a cia agent but they just kind of cherry picked what memories to destroy. Also her personality changes, even when she was playing chuck early on she liked him and now she has zero interest. So many plot holes in this show but damn I still love it.
@@shinposting But not her personality. Even if she had no memory of him, she would be instantly attracted to him, just like she was the first time. Memory loss wouldn't make her a different person altogether. She comes off as cold and aloof, something that Sarah never was.
@@neilpeartspurplenose8739 Attracted, by itself, doesn't count for much. Lots of people are attracted to someone and nothing ever comes of it. Remember, in S1 and S2 it took her _months_ just to admit to herself that she was attracted, and then it came down to the wire in choosing between Chuck and Bryce. The memory wipe has put Sarah back where she was over 5 years before, Chuck is a stranger, her love interest would be Bryce, not Chuck, and she would need _time_ to change that. Also, what first caught Sarah's interest in Chuck was that incident in the Buy More where he and the Herd helped that father recreate his daughter's lost performance. Mind-wiped Sarah hasn't had such a moment with modern Chuck yet.
@@shermanlee4037 Exactly: she gets that moment when a Chuck-inspired Casey brings her the mission videos and then Chuck tells their story on the beach.
@@philipjones3517 But even that isn't enough to restore her former mental/emotional state. Quinn really, _really_ effed over Chuck and Sarah. He did them more damage than all of their other enemies combined.
i always took it on the beach as Chuck is sitting talking about the past and theres all these flashbacks that its actually her remembering and her asking to kiss is her trying to nail it in (shes laughing really hard and smiling etc, kinda thought why would she be reacting like that if the memories arent coming back) Then again it is shot to be rather ambiguous so it depends on the viewer
Actually, I agree the scene on the beach where he is telling her their story, she is remembering fragments or at least regaining the emotions attached to them...why? Cause notice her throughout, she's not politely smiling or nodding, she's genuinely laughing, crying leaning in toward chuck ...she's fully invested in the tale. You don't have those type of emotions from hearing a story, you feel that in your core, there emotions are connected to an unconscious knowing... The reason we all got so worked up over how it ended is because we were emotionally invested and seeing it hearing it unfold like that prices at that unconscious memory of them and perhaps speaks to real connections in our own lives. Point is,a person doesn't show those emotions if they don't feel them. She may not have the perfect memory from everything, but she certainly feels them which brings Sarah closer to get old self as she had told chuck in prior episode she believed everything he said about them but didn't feel it.... She knows the truth, now she feels the truth.... There is no way a person can express the raw emotions Sarah did evoke hearing the story who truly doesn't feel those words in their heart
@@donniehollingsworth1611 thank you for your thorough analysis of the beach scene. It put my mind at ease cuz it bothered me that her mind made her heart forget. Great, now I can move on and not feel like something's missing.
Destroy? They ended together, building a new love story with no lies, no spy stuff, just them. That's all they ever wanted. Is it painful? yes, it is, but to hear Sarah telling Chuck to kiss her, it's the beginning of their new life together.
It's actually either Chuck's or just a specific flashback to that point in the past. If this was Sarah's memory then that would prove that she's starting to get her memory back which she doesn't.
@@dymenblaze nah its sarah's, theres a few moments in the finale following this that show that she is starting to remember. Just fragments but these are her memories for sure
@@PhlilipeAlves And how is this supposed to help with anything? We can pretend that last 2 episodes never happened but we know thats not true. What has been seen cannot be unseen.
Funny, I started watching Chuck late when my wife was sleeping. Later she never showed any interest in this "spy" show. I never thought of it as a chick flick until I read these comments. Good acting in this scene, but didn't appreciate it at the time.
The point of the ending was so that it can be left ambiguous. Whether or not she gains back her full memories, they will start a new relationship together.
brandon brooker not sure why they can’t try the intersect to repair her memories. I know they destroyed it but that was the 5th time they have done so. The kid from mit made a pair for the ring by reverse engineering what was destroyed. The cia,the ring and fulcrum all recreated it numerous times.
I mean, if you take it to the very end, where Sarah asks him to tell her a story. If you really take a second to think about it, the story comes full circle in a way. She might not feel anything at this moment because... well, how could she? She doesn't remember anything that has happened over the course of the past few years that they have built a relationship, but she has a unique window to see into those memories because of the chronicle of mission reports that she made. A lot of people see the ending as a disappointment, but I see it more in a bittersweet light. If you remember Sarah during Season 1, especially in the first moments where she meets Chuck and he takes charge of the situation when the silly father messes up the ballet recording, the look that she has in the store is a very similar look to when she is on the beach with him at the end. The reason why I say the story has come full circle is because we have almost done a complete reset, and while Sarah has lost her memories, it does not preclude her to make new memories and build a "new" relationship with Chuck. I really do like the open-ended nature of the finale, because it allows people to make their own conclusions. For me, while I think that the ending was quite good, I also understand if you think it's a dumb ending.
@@Brswing Definitely it was a huge disappointment. It seems like the writers didn't like their characters or their fans. So, as a final gift, they destroy everything that was built in 5 years leaving Chuck without the love of his life and Sarah as an empty and damaged person.
They ended together at the beach where their love story almost started. I hated the ending at the beginning but after several watch of the last 4 episodes I changed my mind. They obviously got together with no spy stuff, lies, anything but their love for each other. It's a great ending. And isn't beautiful that the last words of the show were: Chuck, kiss me.
@@PhlilipeAlves " but after several watch of the last 4 episodes I changed my mind" If you had to watch the it several times to finally get a positive view, then that means that the ending was extremely poorly written, as indeed it was.
@@Endress-qj2ms sorry but no. You have to watch closely each scene but you only notice some things in your 3rd or 4th watch. I had to do this because I was so mad at first. But now, not at all. They ended together.
This Ending was seriously unnecessary I've watched the entire show several times still tbh the last two episodes looks so forced doesn't even sync with the tone of the entire show becoz throughout 5 seasons sarah loves chuck so much treats him like baby & so protective about him and now she does this well that was a bit too much actually! Although this one of my all time fav show I miss this show only thing the ending could've been much better, they kinda spoiled or wasted an epic romance!

When I watched this first time, it was night and I started to crying and yelling then every family members looked at me. I'm watching this again, I'm feeling the same emotions and of course I'm crying. :)
loved the show, i cried to this scene as i partially related it to my life right now
Dammit!! This show still gets me always tear up!!
This is so heartbreaking all over again, make it stop, make it stop, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I don't know how many times I'm gonna watch this than the next scenes. ..I just keeping watching the ending and i can't. ...this scene was so painful
The most painful moment in the entire series
i know i sound like a sissy but this scene always makes me cry
True men cry and proudly admit it.
I hope to get there someday
@Veglia Borletti Well maybe for you. I also like that one. The final scene was my favorite: "Kiss me"
I watched this scene more than 100 times and every time i cry
No shame my friend.
Cry every time!! so driving sad. And zac's such a good actor DX
Yvonne too is great !
It's what makes Chuck great.
Wow, I feel the exact same way…I thought I was the only one
From Chuck to SHAZAM!!!

Good acting tho.
Is it even possible not to love her
No.
Personally one of the most underrated actresses in terms of beauty. Many other actors get mentioned but Yvonne Strahoski does not in my opinion. For the longest time she was my crush hahaha
@@animeshaggy4333 So, you're saying she is not your crush anymore. What happened? Did you find a girlfriend or smth xD
No, I firmly believe it’s impossible, at least in my brain…I can’t fathom someone not loving her
She is extremely underrated
when they wipe her memories a girl who is seriously dangerous, and then a cia lie to her at her most vulnerable spot were she feels defenceless people saying to trust her and telling about memories that she doesnt seem to recall, made her more confused and hard to trust anyone.
This episode is hellish, more than Episode all episode which Shaw appeared
This guy, Quinn, was way more diabolical than Shaw. In Shaw's defense he was avenging his wife's death who was Sarah's red test.
Even though she claimed otherwise, the speech made her remember that they were in love, even if she still couldn't remember all of the specifics about it. You can hear it in how she says "this is real?". It's also why she doesn't just shoot him and take the intersect glasses. Even Quinn must've realized it. It's why he tries to shoot her; it otherwise would've been much more advantageous for him to let her shoot Chuck first, and then kill her
I always cry when I look this episode
the carving on the door frame was that Sarah remembering
damn it jenalia those last three episodes broke my damn heart
crying now :(
Actually watching this again in detail, I noticed that Sarah isn't even motioning to pull the trigger, she seems very conflicted, I wonder if she would have had they not written their names on the frame.
Quinn always pipes in at the worst of times in that episode, each time Chuck manges to get through to her
Michael Stock j
I think she constantly hesitates to kill Chuck every time she has the chance in those two episodes because in her subconscious she loves Chuck but she doesn't know why.
@@SportsPhanatic17 I like your reasoning with this scene. I just posted earlier how did her mind make her heart forget.
Very touching scene, cried during it. The whole ending could have been better though :| still love chuck:)
This was the best part in the movie
So she's remembering her feelings, she just doesn't understand them.
flashback movie again 😍
with all my heart
As soon as I saw the house I knew it straight away. It's Amanda King's house in the 80s spy show Scarecrow and Mrs King. That's awesome!
Liz M I nearly screamed! I'm such a huge fan of S&MK and recognised the house immediately! :-)
Yes it wasn't a very very happy ending like everyone thought but it wasn't a bad either and i dont understand the complain .you don't always have to see characters laughing and having kids for happy ending ..if the ending has kept the audiences longing for more it means job well done (there have been shows with happy ending and ppl forget about it in a week thats why chuck is so unique)
.The ending had everything heartbreak emotions love most importantly that even after saying she didn't feel anything which she lied and denied her feelings were wrong because she couldn't find a memory to connect to with the feelings she couldn't leave. She comes back to ask for help when she could have gone anywhere just to try to get to know him as she was acting as a spy and after getting used she was angry and pissed had shut everyone off because accepting the feelings would mean that she had something special and she lost those special memories she made so she tries to convince herself that it wasn't a big deal . she says she will disssappear once Quinn is dead but then tells chuck that she needs time to be alone to think when he asks about starting over (after coming back from last mission during which she yet again remembers the virus she is scared to accept the fact that she has feelings and whenever chuck is around she remembers something related to the past but tries to act its no big deal ) and leaves yet again she is unable to leave and finds herself at beach just realizing the fact that its important...chuck is there and he asks her to trust him nd he will support her no matter what she does where she goes (he doesn't force her into doing anything that he wants) at that moment she realizes that how much love he has for her and how much hurt he is and she breaks down in the same scene after feeling his pain because she can't see him in pain . she realizes it's actually her love for him that she couldn't understand at first that keeping her from leaving and finally opens up..".Chuck Kiss me"....even she knows that its a silly idea but before chuck can laugh it off she uses the opportunity to ask him to kiss her because she now knows what she has been missing this is the life she wanted and she wants to be loved like that again (with hopes that oneday she will indeed get all her memories back with the kiss at least giving her few more imp memories) as they kiss you can see at the end she doesn't stop chuck from going for 2nd kiss and they keep on continuing after that.
still waiting for a movie or hopefully, another season
@@ekc840 Its not gonna happen.
@@Freeman1000000more likely than not it will happen
What I don’t get is how she remembers Bryce Larkin and how to be a cia agent but they just kind of cherry picked what memories to destroy. Also her personality changes, even when she was playing chuck early on she liked him and now she has zero interest. So many plot holes in this show but damn I still love it.
Quinn had erased her memories about the entire show, but not before it
@@shinposting But not her personality.
That was unbelievable
I hate the fact the day end of the series without her regaining her memory
i always took it on the beach as Chuck is sitting talking about the past and theres all these flashbacks that its actually her remembering and her asking to kiss is her trying to nail it in (shes laughing really hard and smiling etc, kinda thought why would she be reacting like that if the memories arent coming back)
Then again it is shot to be rather ambiguous so it depends on the viewer
They should've carved Sarah + Chuck all over the walls of this house.
Ah no I can't watch this 💔I'm gonna cry
Chuck is how I feel when I'm playing minecraft on an online server, and they do a rollback.
Why does this hurt so much
They just had to do it, they just had to destroy my favourite couple.
Destroy? They ended together, building a new love story with no lies, no spy stuff, just them. That's all they ever wanted. Is it painful? yes, it is, but to hear Sarah telling Chuck to kiss her, it's the beginning of their new life together.
“Remember me” in 2023

😭😭😭
Ok question? Is this sarahs memory or chucks memory of writing on the wall
It's Sarah's.

Chuck is an emotional roller coaster that is torturous yet u never wanna get off
the Illusive Man did that!
Funny, I started watching Chuck late when my wife was sleeping. Later she never showed any interest in this "spy" show. I never thought of it as a chick flick until I read these comments. Good acting in this scene, but didn't appreciate it at the time.
Holy shit this is tough
Why did she not say, "judo chop?"
أعتقد نفس التكنولوجيا البتمكنه يوصل الفيديوهات ديه بسهوله هي هي البتخليه يقرأ أفكارنا!
Yep they did a really good job screwing the whole show up with the last few episodes. The writers were a bunch of dill holes!
@@willy541000 they would probably need the watch too that Chuck's dad made as flashing can be hazardous to your health.
She probably would have trusted him sooner if he did show don't tell, like show her the spywill she gave him or bring her mom or dad back
Agonizing....
This was the dumbest ending to a show
I mean, if you take it to the very end, where Sarah asks him to tell her a story.
@@Brswing the ending was great, put things back into place. I think people were just sad to see such an epic show go, I know I was.

Definitely it was a huge disappointment.
It seems like the writers didn't like their characters or their fans. So, as a final gift, they destroy everything that was built in 5 years leaving Chuck without the love of his life and Sarah as an empty and damaged person.
😢

What happens after that?
They ended together at the beach where their love story almost started. I hated the ending at the beginning but after several watch of the last 4 episodes I changed my mind. They obviously got together with no spy stuff, lies, anything but their love for each other. It's a great ending. And isn't beautiful that the last words of the show were: Chuck, kiss me.

If you had to watch the it several times to finally get a positive view, then that means that the ending was extremely poorly written, as indeed it was.

What a devilish idea to end it in that way.
