If you want to use the shotgun to kill zombies, aim the shotgun and raise it to the zombie's head, then shoot when the zombie approaches. The zombie's head will explode with one shot.

Thanks! I attempted to use this strat in part 3 (which is now up!), but my aim is terrible! My goal is to get at least ONE headshot like that before the game is over!
