    Great tutorial for this here! I’ve wanted to use these, and I’ve never been a fan of how thick quays are, so this is a good alternative to have handy. I hope any sequel will offer a much easier implementation for us to save us some work! I really like the clarity in how you present the options here.

    This was excellent. You gave a brief and concise intro then dove straight in. No probs following along. Background music was unobtrusive and not annoying. You also have a good voice for narration, which a LOT of YT's don't. I subscribed the second I was done the video.
    In my current city, I'm building a retaining wall along side a road that snakes up a hill.. and was hoping to find some way to bring the earth to the top of the retaining wall, while still maintaining the slope. Is there some sort of mod I don't know of that allows this?

    • @Slay3K
      @Slay3K  4 роки тому

      Thank you for the kind words and feedback! Very much appreciated!
      It's very difficult to get the terrain really close to the wall, because the terrain always has some sort of slope. Using either the terrain leveling asset that I use or I believe there is a terrain network asset you can download, you may be able to get it close, but often, you may run into an issue with a gap, hence why I use the ploppable terrain to cover the gap.
      I hope this helps! Thanks again!

    This is one of the essential videos in designing realistic cities I believe. Really helps get rid of those ugly muddy slopes. But I am confused. Even though I have move it, prop anarchy and prop snapping, I can't change the elevation of props. Therefore ploppable surfaces (except for pavement for some reason) simply disappear in the ground and I cannot elevate any of them. Some other props can be elevated but always return to their original position. Am I missing something or is it just bugged af?

    • @Slay3K
      @Slay3K  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! To help the issue, try going into options and looking at Prop Snapping. There should be an option to 'submerge' props and stuff. Check that and try again!

    By far the best video I've seen on retaining walls, thanks for the guide. When I use the invisible building the game wants it to be in a park area, is there a way around that?

    • @Slay3K
      @Slay3K  4 роки тому +1

      Really? That's weird! I don't have any issue with that for these assets. I only have that message come up when using a normal park asset. I also run a load of mods, but that shouldn't effect that.
      You could also try terraforming network that works in a similar fashion. It would basically be an invisible fence that can control the terrain.

    Why do Quays keep the terrain behind the same height as the Quay whereas other options do not fill in the ground so it’s level like a Quay? Do Quays just have a different coding? I like them but they are just too thick for some of the uses I want them for. The network wall in this video is more of the size I am looking for. It makes for the ability to create some nice garden areas or retained areas for decoration around buildings.

    • @Slay3K
      @Slay3K  2 роки тому

      Quays just force terrain to match, at least on one side. The thickness of it seems to cover that change in terrain, especially because of how the game reacts to an abrupt height change with jagged lines. So if you use other walls, that are thin, you have to compensate for covering that height change.

    Thanks for a great video. I am a new player and having issues with putting items down, moving them, and such. I followed along with your tutorial. I downloaded all the assets you listed. I have allthe mods.When I went to put down the cement, and the grass squares, I couldn't find them. I am so confused. I watched your how to use the move it mod. not sure where I messing up. I am struggling because I wanted to make a parking lot, but every tutorial started with the assets on the ground or in place, then never show how to put the cement down. so frustrating.
    Anyways, really like this video, I will keep trying. Thanks again.

    • @Slay3K
      @Slay3K  4 роки тому

      To check, are all the mods activated in the content manger? The move it mod is going to allow you to control each object. The Find it should help you dig up the surfaces and whatnot.
      If you are new, my suggestion would be to slowly add in mods and assets and test as you move forward. It can easily be a lot or overwhelming and it'll slow your PC.
      I'm trying to think if there is something additional you need to do for the surfaces for functionality.
