The Cinema Snob reviews the 1973 Turkish version of Batman. - Фільми й анімація
Hey, Turkish person here. The spoof subtitles with Batman saying "don't you have somewhere to be" is actually super close to what he actually said lmao
I love that the Batmobile is just a regular Austin. That would be a high powered superhero car if everyone else was walking.
At 9:22, you're pretty much spot on. He says: "You have work to do outside don't you?"
13:33 Hilariously he actually got half the subtitles right, "Vay vay vay" really is "Well well well" in Turkish, not sure if this was intentional or accidental but for tri-lingual me it was funny nonetheless :D.
Neighbor's dog = second best Cinema Snob cameo.
Best cameo is Lloyd, obviously.
I absolutely love the gun sound effects. Its the same gun sounds that Leone used in his westerns.
This reminds me; If Turkish government can sue comedians in other countries for just making jokes, I wonder if we could sue Turkish government for letting THIS and Turkish Star Wars happen?
Penguin DT I’m 50% sure DC can sue them
So, according to Batman v Superman's reviews, Batman in that movie is also shooting people left and right. Does that mean Zack Snyder took the inspiration from Turkish Batman?
Pfft, as if Zack Snyder took inspiration from Turkish Batman.
Who am I kidding. Zack Snyder totally took inspiration from Turkish Batman.
Golden Age Batman.
in the original comics, batman DID shoot and kill people
Turkey has a town named Batman.
Batman man,my favorite donkey f**ker
Brad Jones Barking = 100% Hilairious X'D
Is that Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love at 15:30?
Sounds like it.
+MontyPythonFanatic2 Yes, I was commenting on that. Funny how Brad didn't mention it but I guess he's not a fan like I am or most Zepheads.
In that scene at the beginning where the woman gets shot, she grabs her ear. I think that blank might've actually blew out her ear.
😱oh no
Ow. 😥
I figured it was because of the noise since she is quite close to the gun. Either way, ouch. 😮
14:32 the song is Je T'Aime... Moi Non Plus by Serge Gainsbourg (father of von Trier film regular Charlotte Gainsbourg). The song got banned in France for being too sexy. There are two versions, one with Brigitte Bardot and another with Jane Birkin but the Birkin version is the best known.
The James Bond poster joke made me laugh so damn hard. That was a fun gag =)
That dog is an asshole. Will he be a villain in the next Lloyd episode?
Perfect timing with the first image of The Killing Joke animated movie being released today!
Glad I'm not the only one with problems involving a neighbor's dog that won't shut the fuck up.
I'd be excited to know your thoughts on the Japanese Spiderman form the 70s
Stuff We Play oh yes
9:15 he did actually said something like that D:
that's my new online name
Kunt Tulgar
1:58 Kunt Tulgar. That sounds like some gritty revenge movie character played by Reb Brown.
Ah, now this is what we want from Cinema Snob.
a coc
This is the PC port of a Batman movie, judging by the frame rate and image quality.
I can relate to that yapping dog bit all too well. It's been a couple years since they stopped but our neighbors used to leave one of their dogs in a kennel outside almost 24/7 and it was ALWAYS barking, to the point I tried to figure out if what they were doing counted as animal cruelty and I could report them. It did turn out it was against the noise regulations in our city, but I never got around to doing anything about it before they finally let the poor thing inside more often.
At least you only got barking. Had some neighbors a couple houses down who, while there was no reason to suspect animal abuse like in your case, let their dog run free on their yard. A very overeager dog who loved chasing down anyone who passed by. Including cards.
The dog never got hit, thankfully, but frankly that’s nothing short of a miracle. Glad I don’t have to deal with that now that I can drive.
Nice touch with the James Bond poster-swap! Also, I wonder if all these Turkish movies were made by Turkish Cannon Films... XD
I was at Goodwill last weekend and I saw a vinyl LP of the soundtrack to the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". I've check the album that side 2 featured the opening title, and it was the same opening title used in "Turkish Batman". I wasn't able to get the LP, but the opening music was sorta cool.
With how bad this is, at least its not All Star Crazy Steve and Dick Greyson age 12.
Damn that comic, and its lemonade!
+CWDTrixie Someone is an Atop the Fourth Wall fan?
Dan M. Really, who would that be?...MY GOD...EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHH!!!
CWDTrixie My God...
I honestly think ASBAR is quite possibly the worst Batman interpretation ever in any medium.
And when people whine about Jared Leto's Joker, I point them towards... whatever Joker was supposed to be in ASBAR.
It's a Pi Day miracle! Another Turkish review!
13:39 No wonder the snobs a cat person
Evan Bernardi
15:30 Whole Lotta Love
Perfect timing!! relax after a day of study with some awesome cinemasnob!
this Snob episode is right up there with the best mst3k episodes...
17:16 You have no idea how close that joke is to the real thing. The sequel to the turkeys James Bond, has a villian that looks like Batman. If you’re wondering, the sequel is called golden boy in Beirut
15:30-Aha, Batman kicking ass to the sound of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love...makes sense to me...LOL :)))))))
Batman just shooting the fuck out of people... I think we know where Snider got some of his ideas for Batman V Superman.
TheDank Knight1399 Yeah, I know about his early days shootings.
That Batman and Robin reference hit home right as I was swallowing ice cream. God damnit Brad!
are u dead
Kunt, Son!
As soon as that music hit, I lost my mind. I've always felt a kinship to you as we share our favorite bond movie and actor. I love that song.
“Calling me a c&nt!”. That genuinely made laugh out loud 😂😂😂😂
The unknown song was an instrumental cover of Je t'Aime Moi Non Plus by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg.
+Marco Nauokat Damn it, you beat me to it
Brad, it's named after NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
Bruce Wayne looks really more like Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison in The Doors film. I bet that's how Joel Schumacher got Kilmer as Batman. One night while watching Turkish Batman and The Doors he saw the similarities between the two and said to himself "Clearly it's a sign, a big huge dollar sign!".
Also, wow, the Caped Crusader doesn't wear a cape in this one. Really guys, you couldn't get Batman and Robin capes? He seems to have one on the freakin poster.
Wearing a cape in Turkey is punishable by death.
Great sound editing. Yep, let's just put all the music in G major. Ahhh, soothing...
Audiovisual experience like no other!
You joke about it at 6:30, but Brad trust me you'd be surprised some of the shit that happens in the comics. Good work as usual.
9:15 Yep, that's actually pretty much exactly what he says.
Cinama Snob consistantly entertaining.
Hey where was J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon?
That song you didn't know was Me T'Aime by Jane Birkin, a French hit famous for including heavy breathing by the singer
I bet your neighbour's dog is much more of a hero than Turkish Batman and Robin combined.
Also: blackboxing a Turkish movie? Wow, not bad!
I was first made aware of this Turkish gem way before I ever had a UA-cam account. There was a clip that was comprised of some scenes cobbled together with the final fight scene, it is pure pulp cheese. Not to mention the women in this movie were pretty hot. Great Episode Brad.
I LOVE that the gun sound effects seem to have been lifted from Spaghetti Westerns.
Maybe this film's only 62 minutes long because that's all the stock that survived the filming and editing. The quality is appalling... even by 1970s Turkish standards!
Batman v The Penguin sounds like a more entertaining movie than the Zack Snyder movie we have now.
Fox: No snob, when you bark you start with a growl in your throat and try to say ruff as deep as you can. You'll never tell that dog whose boss unless you speak the language right.
Well, I can't say that I ever thought I would see the Cinema Snob bark, let alone get into a barking fight with a neighbor dog.
hankmillenium2000 I thought his name is Brad?
hankmillenium2000 Oh. OH! I don't actually watch anything but his movie reviews so I wouldn't have known I don't think. XD
+hankmillenium2000 The name is Craig Golightly. There's a credit for it at the end of the second part of the "I Spit on Your Grave" review.
hankmillenium2000 I don't pay attention to the credits.
hankmillenium2000 I'unno.
lol!!!!!! 1:36 you put the actual poster from "On her majesty's ..." ;) great video as always Brad!! :)
+Agustin Alejandro Perez Rodriguez
That is his favourite James Bond film. It made sense that he'd have that one too.
Made for a nice subtle visual gag eh? :)
+Punkster Daddy Yeah, really funny :) , i know he loves that movie, and i think it would be great if he reviews it one day :)
Time is tight and so is that top... You are appreciated, sir. We are not worthy.
oh boy...my belly hurts...thank you for this gem...it saved my monday
Crazy Saxaphone Music and then a woman immediately dies. That's the best way to go in any black and white movie :) Especially when it poorly cuts to another angle of the guy shooting you at the wrong time as the gun sound effect, really adds to the cacophony :)
At the male escort line earlier on in the review, he completely missed an opportunity to say he hopes that Bruce gets his Penny's-worth. Ba dum tss
Thanks for constantly making the shittiest day in the week a little better!
I love how the theme is On Her Majesty’s Secret Service my favourite Bond film
Thanks Brad another great day another great video. Keep up the great work.
"betmen"
The greatest team of supergamblers the world has ever seen.
I guess their Superman is Seperman.
lol it does not work like this. Superman is Süpermen. (or it may be sipirmen, tişikkirler sipirmen)
www.vekarikatur.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/tesekkurler-supermen-yigit-ozgur.jpg
Buzzing Sign Diner No, no, Spermen.
'I am vengeance, I am the night, I AM BETMAN!'
There really is a Turkish equivalent of everything, Turkish Batman, Turkish Rambo, Turkish Death Wish... So what are Turkish Delights called?
+Punkster Daddy Swedish twisters.
"Remember, G, you're my number one Turk." Hahaha. Brad, you do so make me chuckle. Love your stuff :)
15:30. Those guys got a "Whole Lotta" kicked in the ass.
Watching The Clips of The Turkish Batman Movie reviewed by the Cinema Snob made me laugh so much I Nearly Fell out of my Desk Chair.
😆😂!
HILARIOUS! 👍🏻
Nice mention of James Batman. That movie is worth a review. We already did it but I would love to see your take on it.
Seeing a Batman & Robin episode would be fairly amusing. XD
You need to get Lloyd to take care of that dog.
Sometimes it really sucks knowing turkish while watching these videos.
+Brah Whoa What's this movie even about?
So are the subtitles accurate?😅
Aww...I wanted "The Robe" next week in honor of Easter.
Good thing this movie came out before Batman '89. If it didn't it probably would have actually had the Joker giving someone an enema, and then Brad could make a Waterpower reference and come full circle.
I wanna see more of Brad getting pissed off /yelling at Turkish movie credits
I've seen better cinematography on a Gameboy Camera.
And a tiger electronic game.
15:11 - is it just me, or does that car chase remind me of the one in "Dolemite?" Hell, I can't even imagine what "Turkish Dolemite" would be like.
Thank you Cinema Snob I always wondered what that piece of music at the start was. I knew it was James Bond but not which one.
0:40- In your words from the Can't Stop the Music review, "WHAT IN THE HOLY MOTHER OF ALL TURKISH BATHHOUSES!?"
If I want a Batman movie that's shot in black and white, I'll stick with both of the movie serials from the 1940's, thank you very much.
5:24- The extended cut of Batman v Superman is rated R for more violence than the theatrical cut, not for nudity or sex.
13:00- I wonder if there's a Turkish Naked Gun.
Why HASN'T Stoned Gremlin Productions done a Batman film?!
Most of them are good. Most.
As much as I respect that choice wouldn't it be better if you reviewed Batman and Robin? Since you reviewed Superman 4 it would be fitting to review Batman and Robin since they are the 4th and worst installments in their own franchises. Just to see if Batman Vs Superman doesn't end in that category kind of?
That dog was truly the star of this episode.
God, the audio is so screechy
It's like the movie's balls are in a vice.
Objectorbit my ears felt like they were punched when the bond theme played. Then the next lifted bond song happened. My ears will never heal
Snob barking is the best thing here in the video tbh. xD
turkish batman vs musical superman
i love waking up to new snob mmmm yes thats gooood
New snob baby!
Its amazing he finished watching this. Just visually it's so frustrating
haven't watched the episode yet but I'm hoping he'll mention the fact that there's a town in Turkey called Batman
Give the bald guy a wrestling mask and suddenly this turns into a whole new Syndicate!
Snob barking is best comeback ever.
There's a town in Turkey called Batman.
this is god's work, keep it up
I can't wait to see you review turkish deathwish.
It's sad that I've seen films from the 20's that have better cinematography than "Betmen."
And less horrifying sound effects. Seriously, why is it so difficult to come across a good non-western film that isn't from japan (and sometimes china)
That's not surprising. Metropolis has better cinematography than a few big budget films I've seen theatres in recent years
@@nathanclark2424 that could be negativity bias. Turkey probably has a good healthy community of actually good filmmakers ... who are cult by default since the only Turkish movies that we know of are "bad knock offs."
I thought the opening theme was a heavy metal rock version of Good Day Sunshine
I hope that cat had a good life.
15:30 Turkish Bruce Wayne prefers the Old Grey Whistle Test.
Wait, He doesn't like rock music, does he?
No, because punk is nothing but death and crime and the rage of a beast!
Have you done Turkish Star Trek, where they call Spock Mr. Spaak, or Turkish Star Wars, where they call the hero the Adam who saves the 'earth'? They're also from the 1970s. Heh.
