Absolutely amazing video, the quality of work, finesse and attention to detail is outstanding. This is the second of your videos I've watched and it's inspired me to attempt to build a DLG. It would be great if you could make a video showing how you design and produce the plug and mold for the fuselage. Many thanks
The paper used for this trick was indeed silk paper , as provided with some of the free flight kits available . reason for using this kind of paper is that the epoxy will drain much better into and through the paper, which we want for a stiff and strong wing. any paper will do, but the lighter and thinner it is, the better. as long as the paint sticks on it it will work;)
Use laminating epoxy with a long processing time. I use resin L385 with hardener 386 from R&G. This has a 2 hour prcoessing time and takes 24h to cure.
First video that's explaining this technique clearly ! What kind (brand) of epoxy are you using ? ...and what kit are you using to seal the vacuum bag. I'm also starting with vacuum bagging and want to follow the instructions in your video.
cool......one of the best videos ever pls can u tell me what kind of paper and what kind of paints your artist friend used for the painting ????? thank U
Quick question. What king of Mylar and bagging material do you use? Specifically what is the thickness and brand? Also what unit of measure did you use for the glass and carbon weights? Example, "25gr fiberglass". Is this 25 grams per square meter? Thanks for the video and great job! :)
Since already congratulated for their videos. After watching your video decided to try to make a wing. Cut the polystyrene core, and I did everything as it should be, in the end put the wing in a vaccum bag, pulled out after 24 hours the wing and the work was almost perfect, but I had a problem the Styrofoam core seems that collapsed in some places. What would be the problem, it will be better to use foam rather than polystyrene? thanks
Hello, please can you tell me what kind of material is the plastic molds that you use at first ? the one you first Was? and finally yo take them of? you call them Mylars? what material is that and whay prodoct do you use for wax them ? thanks Im from Argentina and need to know what kind of plastic is that.

Congrats, very nice video to learn and very pleasant to watch. One question: what's that glue that you used to close the vacuum bag? tks.

This is the only video I've seen to include a decorative in-lay. Can you refer me to others? Nice work!
Excellent video and beautiful wing. You made it look easy, but I know better.

Its called mylar. Its a pe plastic. I use ordinary car wax.
@@jaap027 yes thanks. Do you still building?
@@magneresjuan no. Mostly flying now.
@@jaap027 okey, I built one DLG, wich airfoils do you recomend for a new one?
How did u get a perfect liner edge when u never over lap the fiberglass???
Amazing, is there a writeup on RCgroups anywhere?
What is the total weight of the wing?
Hello, where can I find plans to build a DLG identical to the one you present in the videos.
Thank you
Very nice.
Very nice, zeer informatief, thx.
now o I finally understand it
Awesome
The paper used is silk paper.
how many grams of paper I use? nice works
I did not post any additional info anywhere.
jaap what is the type of sealant used for the bag? Do you reuse the bag for another wing later.
the cheapest kit you can find. i use acrylic, acrylic kit does not smell.
'kit'? Domestic gap filling sealant? Or is it something else?
+Neil Rosh yes, gap filling sealant
cool
paper......
