    Nice review of the Outback sir. Picked mine up about a month ago and have had it out in the bay and lakes here in Washington four times already. My wife got the Revolution 13. We tried a tandem test drive and immediately discovered we both wanted our own boats. More money, but the marriage was saved. :-).

    Awesome review and setup! I just picked up my 2016 Hobie Outback yesterday. I am upgrading from a 8ft Walmart brand that got old quick (spur of the moment purchase) and now I'm hooked on kayak fishing. I was looking into getting the native propel 10 because I can reverse drive it, but the guys at local kayak store sold me on the outback. Currently residing in TX but plan on moving back to CA after my service is up. Glad I chose the outback.

    great video. thanks. my little dog goes with me, sits in the back. It's a great space to keep the dog feeling secure. the big bulldog was too heavy, brought in lots of water lol

      +RHYAK Have a question what kind of rocket launcher rod holders (brand and/or where you got them) do you have holding your 2 rods in the back of your Outback. I just bought my Outback today (so excited, btw) and I bought the h crate but want some rocket luncher rod holders that fit snug in the 2 molded spots. Thanks

      Southern Outdoors NC
      They are the Hobie Rocket Launchers, Most places on line that carry Hobie have them as well as your Local Dealer should be able to order them.

    have had a problem with them leaking with that front hatch bucket as it creates a gap in the front. Guess I have been lucky with the front hatches so far. Have owned a couple different brands of kayaks over the year and cant remember any of them being dry inside after a rough day on the water. That is why spare cloths belong in a drybag.

    ever try a pa12/14? im debating on a outback or pa14. id only need the outback but the pa14 would let me take someone with me when i want and have more than enough room for camping

      +ryguy11794
      really depends on each anglers needs and wants. Would say the PA12/14 should not be considered a 2 person kayak it, just as the outback should not be considered a 2 person but do guys take there kids on the outback with them sure. They do make a PA17 which is built for 2 anglers/people. I would say your gonna be able to get about as much as you need on a outback. The thing is really stable. I would say head to your local dealer and test them out. Both the PA and the Outback make great kayaks depending on the persons needs/wants.

    does the 2016 have the leaking front hatch problem like the previous models?

    • @CckfNet
      @CckfNet  8 років тому

      I honestly have not had a problem with it, however had not had a problem with my 2014 or 2012 either

      @CckfNet  7 років тому

      Joseph Boehm they really do add extra speed that makes it the perfect set up

    can you move the chair closer towards the foot paddle? I'm want to get one but I'm not sure if my legs can reach that far. I'm about 5ft and my legs art that long. ??

    • @CckfNet
      @CckfNet  8 років тому

      no the seat does not move. however the peddles move forward the seat so you should be fine at your height. I would test one at your local shop

    I like to know why nobody talks about the negatives of the boat, such as the ride is very wet even on calmer days, with a little bit of wind you are taking water over the bow all day long as you are pedaling.
    My 2017 takes on water over the stern no matter what the day is like, it just rides too low to the water..

    How about standing up? Easy Steady?

    • @CckfNet
      @CckfNet  7 років тому

      Joseph Boehm yeah standing up is way easier on the newer models with the flatter deck layout. If you look through my videos have one standing bed fishing for bass.

    can one person load it in a truck like yours?

    • @CckfNet
      @CckfNet  8 років тому

      sorry just saw this. yes i can load the kayak by myself and even put it on the rack solo. At the lake I just back down go the ramp and toss one of the ends up and then grab the other and slide it in.

    are the sailing rudder comes standard or u upgrade it .. thanks..subscribed

    • @CckfNet
      @CckfNet  8 років тому

      upgrade, but would say probably the best upgrade even before fins

    • @xHussainAlajmi
      @xHussainAlajmi 8 років тому

      +RHYAK so do u recommend i upgrade both rudder and fins .. coz there is a good deal on ack for both of them ... thanks alot for ur help

    • @CckfNet
      @CckfNet  8 років тому

      +Hussain Alajmi yeah I would upgrade both.

    • @daveyJ213
      @daveyJ213 8 років тому

      I did upgrade my fins already. Man, the speed difference is very noticeable. I would not upgrade the rudder unless you intend to eventually do some sailing on your boat. Then you will definitely need the larger rudder. Otherwise, how sharp a turn to you really need to make?

    When you've gone fishing, how is standing on it etc?

    • @CckfNet
      @CckfNet  8 років тому

      I would say it has a fair amount of stability when standing. I am a big guy and can stand up on flat water. It is much easier to stand in this version that is completely flat then previous models that had the foot pegs going down all the way to the mirage drive.

    I put some clothes in one of the compartments just to find out they all get get water in (little but enough to wet my dry clothes wet)

    • @daveyJ213

      I know what you mean. I did purchase the hatch liner for the front hatch. It's very deep and kept everything I put up there dry as a bone. You'd think Hobie would go ahead and supply that with the purchase, but I guess they figure they'd be losing too much upgrade money. :-|

    • @elcompamartinez2647
      @elcompamartinez2647 8 років тому +1

      Thanks for the info David Massey....I agree! hobie wont go the extra penny to solve that problem, they know that when you find out the money is theirs and the problem is ours.
