In the year 2064, the Terryfication of the world is complete. After the collapse of the global economy, the dollar has been replaced by a new currency called Bogards...are you okay?
Terry’s passing sway is just like any other characters side switch move. Other characters (cammy, dee jay, ken) could bust out with a forward moving combo started from a normal, to come out the corner but instead they often chose the side switch combo, not only just to come out the corner but to put the opponent in the corner as well. That alone makes it a very useful move.
"This character looks omegabusted" only for them to release and end up just being pretty good (or bad in the case of AKI and just ok in Rashid's case) has been the trend everytime. Capcom seem to really know how to market the DLC characters to make them look incredible.
@@Error-wn5gy yeah that's how I thought it was going to be tbh it makes sense but I dunno why they made it like this. I think we might get buffs because too many of his moves seem unusable right now, the lane switch is the main one. And not having a single plus on block normal just seems strange. It seems like he's really strong vs burnout but can't do anything to burn you out. It would be cool if they gave him some version of roll and short hop but now I'm just dreaming 😂
Another thing to think as well, this game is so astoundingly well balanced people drop characters cos...they're boring...Luke got dropped not cos he's terrible, but a bit boring
Marisa noob master here and I agree completely. Even if all other characters would cap at 50% damages, she'd still have a hard time. It's not about doing max damage, it's about creating opportunities to do them and Marisa is not really in the good tier for that. Also, her walk speed is a real problem now, specially against the Bisons and Akuma... it's very frustrating. Even though I love this character, she feels so good to play, I was kind of hopping Terry would be Marisa...but faster and with a DP. xD
He defo doesn't look broken, but we have to be careful early doors.remember how almost everyone said Ed is almost unusabley bad because he has a short jab...
Actually with the recent tier list that comes out Terry Ranges from either Bottom 3, to the VERY bottom (as per Mago's Tier list) Terry needs a damage buff his mixup from move to move does a fraction of damage compared to say Ken does with half moves done
Yeah. I really didn’t think he’d be perceived this badly but it’s happening. I might have been wrong about him not being in the lower tier. It’s crazy. He has all the tools it feels like. Gonna have to wait to see how it feels when the anti-honeymoon period ends. Hahaha.
@@UltraChenTV IMO he needs a damage buff, for comparison sake the way Ryu deals massive raw damage in this game is hiw terrt does in 15, though he doesn't have mich tools there (even if we factor out it being 4 buttons) but at least he's mid in 15 here there may be more than meets the eye, but so far for me he needs a damage buff
It’s typical for a desired character to have a new trailer, and all the trailer has to show is a crouching jab, and everyone will say that the character is top tier.
I more or less agree with your assessment, but I think I'm a little less high on him. I still wouldn't call him "bad" or anything, but maybe close to it? lol Nothing really stands out about him, and almost feels like you could play one of a few other characters, for the same effect. Even though the luke comparison is accurate, I find him to be a little more like ed. I find his projectiles actually kind of crazy. Seems to be lots of potential for trade combos and meaties, and I think he'll shine a lot more in maybe even an aki sort of way. Just looping plus setups in the corner until you die, and it helps that his corner carry is pretty good, and fairly cheap for the most part. Super early of course, but while I find him a bit annoying to fight, I'm never particularly scared of him either, like I am most of the cast.
@@666slateran666 I've only been hit by that stuff off stun, or blocking my reversal. Even then do you mean meterless as in no drive gauge, or with? Marisa can do tons of damage meterless in both cases, but that doesn't automatically translate to power. Cause obviously how likely you are to get these hits/confirms matters more.
He’s definitely top 10 his damage is good he has one of the easiest hit confirms in the game .his fireball is 1 frame slower then ryus so he has a good. Fireball and his light dp is arguably the best in the game . Anti air lvl 3 . Ca puts you in the corner and crack shoot is safe on block . Top10 material
I don't think Bison is top 5 but he's super frustrating for some of the cast and he's utterly fucking braindead and the part of the cast he's frustrating for are the ones that are already struggling a lot of the time.
Them barely buffing Kim and giving Mannon nothing is kinda sad. It feels so hard to play low tiers in sf6 when all these other strong characters exist. I dropped Honda for example and just play Gief/Bison now.
If you thibk low tiers are hard to play in this game you must think they're utterly and unthinkably dogshit in every other game that isn't Tekken. Honestly the power differential in SF6 is one of the smallest I have ever seen in a fighting game full dtop. Outside of a couple characters everyone feels Top 8 capable.
I definitely disagree. Most characters without EX reversals are rough. Honda, mannon, kimberly, Lilly, Jamie, season 1 gief etc were and are a struggle to play when everyone is confirming low medium kick into wombo combo. Its not like guilty gear where happy chaos and asuka are cancerous but kost of the rest of the cast feels fine. And yeah tekken everyone is mostly viable. Im not a tournamnet player or anything but its tough out here in these streets. Playing againdt luke, Ken, JP and msot the other high tiers feels suffocating imo@@SomniaCE
@666slateran666 This is a universal truth in almost every game though, especially SF. In SFV you felt terrible if you didn't have a privileged V trigger or a 3 frame and in S1 you felt awful for not having an invincible DP. In SF4 there were its own "You feel bad for not having this" type thing. Idk much about Strive (made it to Floor 10 and then dropped it cause I hated how ranked worked) but I do know that people are complaining constantly about characters like Bedman being bad for years and years. "Oh this character can't abuse Wild Assault oh this character needs meter for reversals" etc etc. I can think of few 2D games where the gap between tiers is as small as it is in SF6. In fact I can't think of any. Pre-2010 games have tons of characters that just barely function and can feel almost unfinished at times compared to top tiers and games post-2010 got a lot better at standardizing power and not having core toolsets differ so drasticallly but they still develop characters like SFV Alex or Juri where for years the characters just did not feel finished. Playing low/mid tier can be rough but until you hit 1500-1600MR you won't really feel just how rough the character power differential is because until then few players know how to abuse character weaknesses properly.
Excuses man. Tier list do not matter until top 24 Reality is, nobody - including myself, understand enough to truly grasp matchups on a deep enough level. Don't limit yourself pal, loads of master + Manons, and other characters. Others have done it, You got this.

Best analysis on Terry I've seen nice one for this james 👍
I expect future manon season 10 to be a steamroll monster

Was so much fun chatting with you on twitch! Gonna try and come around more often 😉
Too many combo routes to remember atm
He's tricky to learn unlike Bison
Yeah it feels like you're jumping all over the controls lol a lot of the normal links most of the cast have don't work

What would it take to put Terry on top? Passing sway on block? Sprinkle in a few + frames here and there?
Some of his moves being safe as well, like his overhead and shoulder, if they buffed the crmk crhk combo he could end up insanely strong.
@@remylebeau34 if power charge could be safe if spaced that would be nice, or have one version be based off the MOTW version where its + on block

I think the word to describe Terry is the same as Ken: Stable
His Standing MP-HP target combo has a gap
