- I made an electric upright bass, probably EUB since the definition of EUB is a bass that can be played standing up using pickup sounds.

It is a bass like Takamine's B10, but the way it was made and the sound I wanted were quite different.
Unlike contrabass, violin, and acoustic guitar, I wanted to create a sound similar to the above instruments by digging (shaving) the inside of the wood, which is often seen in electric guitar.
The sound is strongly inspired by the double bass.
I chose warm double bass strings because the original pickup has a strong attack.
But everyone has their own way of feeling the sound... I'll leave it to you to judge.

感覚的にはTakamine様のB10のイメージのようなベースですが、作り方、求めたサウンドはかなり違いました。
コントラバス、バイオリン、アコースティックギターなどとは違い、エレキギターなどによく見られる材を掘る（削る）ことにより内部を空洞にし上記の楽器と同じようなサウンドを出せるようにと考えました。
サウンドはコントラバスを強くイメージして作りました。
アタックが強く出るオリジナルピックアップなので、ウォームなコントラバス用の弦を選択しました。
でも音の感じ方は人それぞれなので・・・判断はおまかせします。

I noticed there´s lack of sustain because you have not spotted the points where the sustain "drains out". I did this to a Gibson bridge: I put white glue all around, inside the clean holes of the string saddles and underneath ... move screws and intonate again before glue dry out. 3 hours later the glue "disappeared" ... shrinked I must say ... and all the pieces were like one solid piece increasing sustain dramatically. I put white glue in the holes of the 4 posts (Bridge and Stop Tail) and then a drop of white glue in the clean threads of every post and put them back. Set bridge and stop tail. Clean escess of glue and let dry. More sustain after this. I remove the whole bridge and put some glue in the threads AND in the holes in both sides of the bridge and put it back. Hours later ... the lack of sustain was gone. One more thing, the key for a thick sustain is in the contact areas, the more contact area, the more sustain you get. Every instrument has some points that makes sustain poor and weak. Once you spot those points and fix them, you get an organic, almost natural tone in any instrument with loads of sustain AND high VOLUME, even Strats with tremolo/whammy bar can be heard when you play guitar .... unplugged. Great work Andy .... do more custom projects, please !!!!

Such wonderful craftsmanship. It looks and sounds fantastic.
Concerning this marvelously built hybrid instrument: those who play a standard Double Bass may find some getting used this bass to due the short length of its fingerboard. Electric Bassists may find this a bit bulky when positioned on its side, as well as frustrating not being able to reach the high notes. However, I do congratulate you on the effort of your workmanship, as well as the filming of this project!

Flat head screws should never be used for anything anymore. Not practical at all. Nice idea though. I like the bridge. Good luck
