I'm not sure where to get the drivers, I suggest looking around on UA-cam for videos on 360 wireless controlers, I remember using a link from someones video to get mine.
It's because you can't use that cable for that. The cable is only to charge the controller it does not transmit so you can use its controls on a system because it is a wireless controller. If you want to use a controller you will either need to buy a wired one or an Microsoft receiver adaptor .
because the cable powers the controller, and the controller still communicates with the xbox wirelessly. All the USB charge and play cable does, is charge the controller, theres no data going across it. Thats why you can't use it on a PC

Seven years late, but here I put *the things that this cable allows to do* In case anyone is considering buying it: *1. Charge the battery of the "Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit"* when it is put in the controller, which is its main function. Important, *this cable cannot charge any other kind of battery than the "Play & Charge Kit."* *2. Being able to use an Xbox 360 wireless controller without batteries,* since it transmits power through the cable. *This is very useful in the case of those Xbox 360 controllers that have the problem of turning off even if the batteries are good.* 👍🏻 *3. Being able to pair an 360 controller with the Xbox 360 console where you connect the cable;* a useful alternative if you can't use the pairing buttons on your controller and console to do so, whether one of them is damaged or for another reason. 👍🏻 *Things this cable does NOT allow you to do:* - Connect your Xbox 360 wireless controller to a PC: unlike Xbox One/Series controllers that do send information over the cable if you connect them that way, and that's why you can connect them to PC using a USB cable, *YOU CAN'T do the same with 360 wireless controllers,* since *they still send buttons information wirelessly* even if they are connected with that cable, so you'll need the *Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Reciever* to connect it to your PC. On the other hand, *the Xbox 360 wired controller* (less common to find) *can be connected directly to the PC through its built-in cable.* P.S. You should edit your video title to put a question mark on it so people don't get confused thinking your video is a tutorial instead of a question.
with ur second point, if i ONLY bought the charger and wireless receiver, (assuming the "without batteries" u mentioned in point 2 are A batteries), can i still play with AA batteries coz power is still transmitting through the cable or do i need to buy the chargable batteries to play?
Better late than never. You can't. You still need the wireless USB adapter. The charge cable only makes it easier to pair your device. With out the RF receiver no data is being sent/received between controller and PC.
The cable only provides power to the controller and does not allow the pc to use the controller. The best bet here is buy a wired xbox360 controller like device to play on or purchase the Xbox 360 wireless connect dongle.

TheAee ohhhh... You want to play with it on your PC? I meant charging. To use it in yoir PC, probably you need to get an wireless receptor for your PC.
i was thinking this was a tutorial. I know that you can't use it wireless without a receiver but that is not my problem. The problem is that i don't think the plug and play is even charging my controler , it is suppose to change from a red led to a green one when its fully charged ,but mine only makes a red light for a split sec and then i stops. I leave it alone all night charging and now the controller makes that signal of not having charge the moment i pulled it out of my PC. I freaking need the drivers but microsoft seems to have taken it down.

+Naji Kh yea. if you have a charge and play kit, like me and you do, then it won't work. I use an xbox one controller for my pc because you can plug it in with the same charging wire that you use to charge an android phone
+redrage jimbok nooo, i mean there is a few play and charge kit xbox 360 controllers that can be used with pc through the charging cable
Your the man keep it simple yet necessary love you bro
@Tyron Mbatha bro read the comment i did below
just buy ucom controller (in iraq its just 5,000 dinar)
imagine that a ps2 controller worked and a fucking Xbox 360 controller did not
My 240p has 60fps ._.
Matches your profile picture.
you need a wireless receiver in order for the controller to work, at this point i would recommend you to just buy a wired controller instaid.
I connect my controller to a toaster it works really good
you cant do it. The controller is wired to connect the console. You can only buy a proper controller for windows
With the play and charge kit..it doesnt work for pc right. What if u own the one of the flashdrive mod adapters. Will it work. Using the play and charge kit to connect by usb. Mod adapters. Like (cronomax adapter/titan one adapter/brook wingman adapter.) Will those adapters make the play and charge kit cord work. I dont own the recharable battery but i bought the cords. So was wondering if that can work with adapters. I can bet you noone has tryed it yet. Social media let me know. Someone could try this who own those adapters for youtube.
There must be something wrong with you, deciding to name this video "how to connect", making hundreds of thousands of people waste time on this video. Thanks.
Its impossible to connect the kit play & charge in pc ,why not has the capacitty of connect its from control loading battery
this was super easy for me because i have the same cord, controller, driver, and the same exact computer and windows 10.
yep
Thanks for creating such a time consuming video. I thought this was to help us not to help you
how do i get the drivers please somone give me link if you can :)
so, it's work nicely right? we can charge the battery and play on pc.... so that i don't have to buy a damnAA battery everyday
guys i realy need help my pc recanizes my controller but its recanized as unspefifed and its name is Xbox 360 wirless controller via plug and play ect
Can the charging cable be used to connect the controller to the PC as well, or is it wireless only?
This comment is a year old, but i might as well answer it. No, the charging cable doesn't send data, so it cannot be used to connect your controller to a PC.
@@borle_osu That was tough.
I thought it was "how to connect a Xbox 360 controller with play and charge"not"how to ask Questions"
WHAT THE HELL DUDE I JUST WASTED SO MANY MINUTES JUST TO FIND OUT THE VID AINT A TUTORIAL
Probably too late, since the video has more than 1 year, but did you managed to solve the problem? I had a similar problem. I was trying to charge the battery and it wasn't working, but I managed to solve the problem. Hit me back if you still need any help. ;)
Ricardo Pinto me! i need help
TheAee hey! Whats up? The way i got it working was to keep disconnecting and connecting the usb cable in the pc back until the red light just stays on. If the red light changes to green after a few seconds, you need to keep insisting. I had to disconnect and reconnect about 10 times.
Ricardo Pinto after you get the red light, does that mean you can use it alr?
TheAee ohhhh... You want to play with it on your PC? I meant charging. To use it in yoir PC, probably you need to get an wireless receptor for your PC.
Ricardo Pinto oh ok thankss
if the title says "how to" but doesnt teach "how to" its in fact, clickbait

i was thinking this was a tutorial.
I freaking need the drivers but microsoft seems to have taken it down.
can i use just the cable without the battery to connect it with the pc ?
With the wire and the controller does the controller need to still have batteries?
It never works. Because it's just a cable for a charging
Ur right
That's because you need something to map the controls with it.
kid you can't do that with the play and charge kit 😯
with this play and charge kit you can connect the controller without wireless adapter?
no unfurtunatly not u still need wireless adapter
Bro it literally says play and charge kit but you need the wireless receiver to play, so therefore I bought it and now I can’t play😡
Ok so i basically tried uninstalling and installing the drivers it worked the green light on the cable lighted and i tried to connect it to steam and it didnt work so i restarted and red light
