I watched Lanie's cover of Dreams before I watched your reaction and I had very similar thoughts. She is not only young but also very talented. She sang this song with fantastic skill and a beautiful voice. It was pitch perfect. She also added a lot of charisma and joy. This made the video something I could watch and listen over and over. I watched a few other of her videos and I believe that dreams is one of her best.
Even Steve Nick's commented that her version was awesome. This young lady has battled with depression, and have a great respect for her to hear this.I think it's better than the original and similar but natural

Some pretty good, some not. I thought, well, one more can't hurt to listen to. From the very instant Lanie opened her mouth, I was in her spell. The ease in which lyrics flowed from her being with that... smokey (not husky), fluid voice, was simply spell binding. Her body language was so in tune with the rhythm and beat of the soundtrack. When she looked at the camera and smiled, I almost fell off my chair. This kid is a natural (she's 21) and I am sure she will be a big star. Lanie is from North Carolina and has been singing for a number of years. I love this kid and I'm a big fan.
If she sings that well just messing around on a bed... What would she sound like fully backed... Stunning job. Amazing voice and I've listened to it 40 times and I'd buy an album of FM covers sung by her at the drop of a hat. I love her tone.
