  • The Cemetery of Montmartre (French: Cimetière de Montmartre) is a cemetery in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, France, that dates to the early 19th century. Officially known as the Cimetière du Nord, it is the third largest necropolis in Paris, after the Père Lachaise Cemetery and the Montparnasse Cemetery.

The picture of Pascale Sindic waving goodbye, her little child, Ludivine in her arms and their dog, is very appropriate because her tombstone says that Pascale died at 36 years old in June 16, 2000 and Ludivine also died in June 16, 2000 as well as their dog Gege. Very sad!

I noticed that also and was wondering what happened to them. Tried to look it up but there's nothing but that they all died and are buried in France.

Pleased to see the mention of Fernando Sor. He was born in Barcelona and was known as the 'Beethoven of the Guitar' in his day . He wrote a method for the guitar which is still taught to this day and elevated the instrument from being a 'Novelty' instrument to a serious one. After the Peninsular war (1807-1814 ) in Spain and Portugal , being on the 'wrong side of politics' he exiled himself to Paris where he composed and played his hundreds of compositions, tought and later regularly toured Europe . As he aged and his health started to fail he wrote to the King of Spain asking permission to be buried in Spain, but this was refused. All the great guitarists of recent decades , Segovia, Julian Bream, John Williams etc played his works, as do I and many amateurs. . Some of his guitar studies can be fiendishly difficult.

Enjoyed the whimsical "?" at 07:00. One of our village cemeteries has a monument with a cross & flame on the side and inscription: "enough is enough". It's in the 1940s to 1950s years of burial section but no other clues. No one knows who, why, when, ???
    Intriguing mystery!!

These monuments are awesome. I have always been fascinated by family mausoleums, they have a certain kind of class that is hard for me to describe, especially the old-fashioned mausoleums. The first mausoleum you visited was particularly interesting. I noticed a stain glass star of David in the wall.
Were they Jewish ✡️ ? There is really too much on your video for me to comment on, this is such an awesome cemetery. This is one of your best videos yet. Thank you very much GV, and Sue, this was fun to watch. You and your family are in my prayers 🙏 Take care. 😊

It is just incredible how unique each and every grave is Cathal. That one monument with the ugly face was just grotesque. The face was bad enough but it looked as though the brain was coming out of the head like a bunch of angry worms. I wonder what that really meant. Maybe she had lost her mind! Geezzz, that cemetery is phenomenal! Thanks so much for you and Sue bringing it to us. BTW, those are kneelers in the small masoleums for those that want to kneel and pray for their loved one. Not really a chair.

That lovely mother and her beautiful baby, date of death was same year and day. Based on the age of the baby (D.O.B and D.O.D.), less than one year old, it must not have been too long after that photo was taken of them. Must have been an accident. So, so very sad.
