A super quick Motorbike review, just to point out the good bits of a Honda NC750X (2021 on)
See my other videos including, 5 reasons NOT to buy a Honda NC750X , and also videos on the Honda VFR1200FD, BMW R1250RS and R1200RT
Totally agree a shaft drive would put this bike in a class of its own
Or a belt drive….but a chain 🙄
Even a belt drive would work…..but a chain 🙄
Yup, shaft drive would be great.
@@motardsquid Would compromise ride quality though
I don’t follow why you say that? The extra weight or the potentially more agricultural feel?
I have a Honda vfr1200r and a bmw r1200rt, (though both a lot more expensive bikes when new) I don’t have issues with either of those. Plus I have ridden both a 650 & 700 deauville and not noticed ride quality issues there and they were a similarly marketed bike to the NC……the deauvilles were a bit clunky changing gears, but super comfortable.
Not having a go at you, or saying you are wrong, just intrigued why you think that it would impact ride quality.
You forgotten the most important feature!!!!! The Dual Clutch Transmission!!!!!
I know what you mean. I personally love the DCT version, and debated about including it, but it’s such a love it or hate it thing I thought it was wrong to include it on this video.
@@whojamaflip1 Well In my view thats the outstanding feature, if one doesnt like it look for other motorcycle. At the end of the day Honda has many bikes with the features you highlighted but the extra tank space.
If a blond tall girl is what one likes is because she is tall and blond...while others dislike blonds and or tall ones is irrelevant.
In that case you are arguing that Honda made two motorbikes; the manual and the DCT version. The problem with that then is you have the manual version which is a not so cheap commuter/all rounder, or you have the DCT version which is near unique…but pretty expensive.
It is a brilliant bike but until Honda give it a little more power, it’s a 750! And they come into the modern age and update the tech I can’t have one. I love this bike but seems to me as if Honda has forgotten about this one!
@dmertl75 i do agree it’s lagging behind in tech at the price, I’ll be surprised if they give it loads more power though, it kind of goes against its design ethos….but we shall see, it must be getting close to its next refresh!
Got a 23 model and love it more than a sportbike!
Great on fuel and cheaper on insurance!
It certainly hits the spot for lots of people.
@@whojamaflip1 sure does👍 I put a puig windshield can’t wait to ride!
@BigDogHDSPB sure you’ll love it
I'm on my 2nd NC750X, both manuals as I wanted the 10kg weight saving and full automony over gear changes. Its a quite brilliant motorcycle, genius engine and gets a right move on once you get used to how the engine delivers its more than adequate torque (ignore the bhp figure)
Agree with you completely about the engine and the overall brilliance of design.
Glad to see someone acknowledge the virtues of this bike 🚲. Happy Trails
Love the bike, you just have to have the right mindset for it.
Totally agree, got one, DCT Model, love it
I think it works better as a bike with the dct….now if it was dct & shaft drive it would be near perfect!
@@whojamaflip1 Agree with that, but another 20hp would be jun too
@flexywing take your point there, though I wouldn’t want to loose the low down torque and lazy nature of the engine in the process….maybe an NC850x is needed?
@@whojamaflip1 Sounds good, But just had a test ride on the new Africa Twin Adventure Sport DCT, wow great bike, but £17600, and still no centre stand!
@flexywing unless you really want an adventure bike, try the NT1100, I’ve had an AT and borrowed a NT for the day from the dealer….unless you want to go off road I think the NT is much better plus a lot cheaper. Also the DCT box on both is amazing too.
3.5l/ 100 km very carefully - normal drive 3,8-4.0 / 100km - anyway a fantastic bike -
Unfortunately, as I’m English and of a certain age, I’m only able to understand Miles per imperial gallon (Even though I buy my petrol in Litres!)
(Google has shown me that’s a pretty good mpg 😀 I gather those that get more are seriously obsessed and probably sacrifice safety for fuel efficiency)
Give it a shaft drive, and it'll be the Honda CX500/650 , or Honda Deauville 700 for the 21st century !
Couldn’t agree more, a shaft drive would make this an unbeatable bike for so many people…even a belt drive would be better, don’t get why Honda opted for a chain!
Thanks, nice motorcycle
Thanks 😀
If my 2000 Transalp ever breaks down i'll give it a look, with 50/50 tyres it might do some light offroading.
I’ve seen a few videos with US riders taking the pre 21 models on light off roading.
The bike looks and sounds cool. You get to ride sitting up, not like you have a flat in a bell tower at Notre Dame. I see comments that say it's boring. I don't know what boring means for a bike. Can someone explain that to me?
For some any bike that won’t rev to infinity and hasn’t got 700hp is boring….personally I find a Honda cub as interesting as a suzuki hayabusa
It is kinda underpowered. But it is good for what it was designed to do. Be a commuter bike.
You do know that it’s a Jazz engine that Honda cut in half?, I think it feels a little bitsimilar to a diesel engine with its low grunt and low rpm
Agree with your comments on the feel, but the story it’s a Jazz engine cut in half is based on a joke one of the designers made at the time of the launch of the NC700. It was designed with help from Honda automotive, but was a brand new engine. I think Honda just like to leave the story out there as people think car engines are more reliable than bike engines.
I was teasing you 😜
And I still envy your helmet frunk 😊
Be safe and god’s speed 😘
That's an urban legend created by an improper translation of a joke made by the chief engineer. It is NOT a half a Jazz engine. I got banned from a owners FB group for saying so just because someone linked a news website that copypasted the urban legend. If you understand japanese you can easily find out what the engineer really said. He said it just as a joke! And if you look at any schematics you can see the engines have nothing in common.
@@Gryphus-R they actually did use a few parts found in the jazz ua-cam.com/video/yirAdaDXPGk/v-deo.html
Really interesting, thanks for sharing, though I knew Honda automotive helped in the design I didn’t realise it shared a some parts/design features from the Jazz too, though it makes sense and would certainly cut costs both of development and production.
Very good touring bike if they had put a good seat on it .
But they didn't 🦧
I did loads of touring on my 2016 & 2019 750x with an upgraded seat and thought it was great for touring, but I think the post 2021 bikes suspension is too harsh for touring. In trying to make the bike more sporty, they have taken away a little too much comfort for me.
Barely it's a problem - disassemble the sit and buy memory foam - any handyman can make you the best sit in the world! :)
Agree changing the seat inners is a good path……but “Any handyman “….only if you want to make your bike look like it’s been hacked about by a 4 year old. You need someone with real skill to make a seat which feels and looks good.
Its a bike for real riders. I mean people who ride everywhere, everyday in all seasons and all weathers. Its not for the nice weather only, weekender, coffee shop leather jacket matching helmet horsepower/penis size brigade.
Couldn’t agree with you more 😀
It's a great bike but is it boring
I’d say that depends on you not the bike, for example, I’d bet someone into sports bikes or adventure bikes will say yes, but someone who uses a bike as a workhorse to do everything would say no.
I would agree it's a boring bike I hated mine. I know this miby sound daft it's that good it's boring
Lots of reviews say it does everything well but nothing brilliantly, which to me explains why it’s perceived as boring. Personally, I loved my 2016 & 2019 bikes, but thought the 2021 a disappointment…really didn’t like the suspension.
I couldn't agree more. I was lent one for a couple of weeks and couldn't wait to get rid of it Zzzz fantastically practical though
Yes...practical... But also a nerdfest.
😬😬😬 But I’ve a nerdfest!
Practical but zero style or cool factor
A lot would agree with you on cool factor aspect, but I think they’ve done a reasonably good job on the styling, but conservative for definite…..to me it’s the motorbike equivalent of a Honda CRV so it’s never going to set the world on fire.
Barely you sacrifice comfort in favor of "coolness"!
@@daitedve1984depends who you are I guess
Nice bike but typical Honda. Bland!🥱
I’m sorry, but if you consider all Hondas bland you’ve either never looked at their range/History or are blinded by prejudice…..in their current range you have the Fireblade, AT, Transalp, Grom and X-ADV: all far from bland then you have stuff from the past like the Vtec VFRs, the styling on the VFR1200F or the NM4 Vultus, even the humble Cub is a design classic.
Yes the NCs may be on the bland side styling wise…but ALL Hondas are bland…not a chance.
Yeah,a bit dull🥴
But it does serve a purpose for many…
@@whojamaflip1mate I like that you agree that the bike is a bit boring, but your totally right,it would make a good commuter and you can have fun on any bike,no matter what it is 💯👍
My dad has one of these and I rode it last month. The single biggest boring bike I’ve ever ridden. it’s literally the least bikeist bike ever!
Have you tried the dct version then? 😂
I can’t disagree with your comment about it being the least bikeist bike, but then that’s kind of the point… but that was also the point of the cub and look how that changed the world!
😂😂😂
Probably it's not for dead walking men, but for casual office ppl, who wanna avoid traffic? :)
You aspire to being a “dead man walking” biker! 😂
And 3 reasons NOT to buy: 1) small road clearance 2) weak motor. Enough to drive for 50+ oldie, but not enough for real biker 3) stupid trunk, which could be WAY more useful if made as a fuel tank.
Re point 2….most bikers across Europe and the US are over 50 so it appears to be designed pretty well then! Plus is a “real biker” only someone who has say 80bhp or more? 90bhp? Where does real biking start?
250 miles…if you ride at 50mph all the time
Not at all, 80mpg in mixed use and normal riding is easily achievable, I’ve had multiple NCs and if you thrash the hell out of them you’ll get high 60s, but any normal riding will get you to 80mpg no problem.
