How lucky we are that this band is still able to drop beauties like this one. Chords progression and voices are perfect.

The more I listen to the Doggerel album, the more I am starting to think that this might be their most accomplished effort ever. (Eclipsing Doolittle). Joey Santiago's contribution should not be underestimated.
Doggerel has really grown on me over the past year too, the more i listen the better it gets, that’s what The Pixies are all about.

Are sure that the phrase is "don't split your SAILS over me" shouldn't it be SALES instead?
BTW, in my humble opinion, this song is a delicate protest against government leadership during the COVID crisis. Henry David Thoreau was a libertarian who dealt a lot with the right of society to force its rules on the private person. The whole song is from the eyes of a man or of a whole society who got stuck at home due to enforcements. But... maybe it's just me.

I like this song a lot! But just feels like something is missing .. I think it would have been elevated if there was an instrumental (guitar solo) bridge in the middle / rather than just being repetitive .. it’s still one of my favourite songs on the new album though! Thank you Pixies ♥️

i listen to every new pixies song, none of them do it for me like surfa rosa . give up, no kim no pixies.
I'm the opposite. I feel Come On Pilgrim and Surfer Rosa were great, and raw, but I much prefered Doolittle, Bossonova, and Trome Le Monde back in the day. Honestly I think Head Carrier is their 2nd best after Doolittle, and I really enjoyed Beneath the Eryie. I think Paz has given the band a new life. Most of Doggerel feels laid back to me, like a lot of the best Frank Black and The Catholic records (especially the criminally underrated Pistolero). There's some stand out tracks on Come On Pilgrim and Surfer Rosa, but the rest of those two records feels like the Pixies figuring out what it meant to be a band. I like how they have matured.
