I just had a basal cell cancer removed from my nose and will have to wear hats and sunscreen. I bought a couple straw hats but I look like a farmer in the one and not crazy about the other. Your hat will be perfect. I can make a few in different patterns. Thank you for the pattern and your excellent tutorial.

That fabric is from Rifle Paper Co. You can get it from their website or other vendors that sell it.

I love making bucket hats, what stabilizer did u used ?
I used a lightweight craft interfacing because that's the easiest for beginner sewists to find and it keeps it soft enough so the curves are easy to sew. If you want a great stabilizer I would suggest a mediumweight to heavyweight woven interfacing.
Hi! I just downloaded and tried to make it! I got almost all the way done, just went to attach the brim to the hat part and the brim was WILDLY larger. I double and triple checked that I cut the right size pattern out (I did child, my head is freakishly tiny) and I followed the video meticulously… what size did you make in this video?
I made the teen size in this video for these hats. Did you just download the pattern or get it previously? I have edited the pattern multiple times to correct problems.
@@HeatherHandmade I downloaded it maybe 2-3 weeks ago. But I see you posted this video 9 months ago. I am going to reprint the pattern and do the teen size! I have a tiny head and did the child based on measurements. But going up to teen shouldn’t be too big!
I've even updated it since then, like last week. I keep perfecting it little by little. I'm actually wondering if the interfacing and fabric make more of a difference than I thought. Maybe leave the side seams not topstitched until the brim is put on in case you need to take the top of the side side seams in or out to make it fit better. Next week I'm going to print and make every size to test everything!
Update! I used the brim size of child with the hat part of teen and that fit perfectly. I am again wondering if the issue was something I did though because the funkiness. Unsure but I have a super cool hat!

Is your pattern free?
The pattern that has just the pattern pieces is free, the pattern that has the pattern pieces and instructions is purchasable.
I couldn’t get your pattern without singing in.
I have to protect my patterns so you do have to sign in to access it.
Where the measurements... No way to make anything without starting with pattern measurements.. wth wasted video, wasted Time
It would be too hard to share measurements for this type of product so that's why I have a free sewing pattern to print off!
Too much to go through for a pattern.
