Pure joy! On his face, in his heart, on his lips! We are so blessed to have had him!
I love the fact that in the middle of the British invasion, Mr. Armstrong had the number one hit in the US.
MerleOberon Wtf are you thalking about
The Beatles had 3 number 1 hit singles in America "I want to Hold Your Hand" from Feb 1,1964 to March 14,1964 "She Loves You" March 21,1964 to March 28,1964 and "Can't buy Me Love" April 4,1964 to May 2,1964.Hello Dolly broke the Beatles streak at being number 1.That is what he is referring to.
I don't know if he ist the best in USA but i love him like i love also Frank Sinatra and some more singer from his time..they are all good..

Hello Dolly. I'm a man band on youtube.

The improvisation on Trombone and Trumpet is amazing, completes the music. That level of inherent musicianship is not found in most other musicians these days.
Louis Armstrong was one of my dad's favorites ❤ so, I am sitting at his grave right now playing this for him! He is jamming out right now up in heaven 😍

This song knocked the Beatles off the number 1 spot when they were on a 14 week streak.

My mom played this song on the record player while cleaning the house. I heard it so many times I couldn't help but love it. Every time I hear it I think of her. Thanks for sharing.
I remember my childhood. My mom listening this beautiful music!😭
Hello friend..How are you doing today hopefully everything is fine with you and your family?
Louis Armstrong could always make you glad as he was to be alive, resplendent in this live number, with three encores, fabulous trumpet riff and sublime scat singing!
I saw him perform in person when I was 12. My father and I were right in front by the mic. Right after he performed his opening song, my father said, "Play the Wifinpoof Song". OK, says Satch, and does! A great memory, and still clear as a bell after 60 years.
When Music was Music, and Singers were Singers. Thanks Beloved Louis,
A big thank you to Tyree Glenn for raising that massive forefinger 4 times to signal "One more time?!" and to Satchmo for ever generously sharing his exuberant joy each time. RIP both of you fine, gentle, men - we need your gift of music now, more than ever.
Legend has it that they're still repeating the song to this day
I was a kid in the 70s and still remember hearing this song from my childhood. I don't know where the song was playing then, but it has definitely stuck in my mind. It recalls to me the innocent, playful, and secure times of my childhood.
Louis Armstrong, considered by many cultural and artistic academics with a wide understanding of such matters beyond superficial preference, records sales etc to be the most influential and significant artist of the 20th century.

I can't love this song less. My sons are growing to know the song and they tell me everytime that I should play the song.
This guy is incredible! We are really missing musicians of his caliber nowadays, no offense intended
Its insane how well balanced all the instruments (and of course Louis' fantastic voice) are considering this is 55 years old! 23 years before I was born it sounds absolutely perfect
Love how happy looks when Louis does the reprise :)
I just can't see how anyone could say louis voice is fantastic. it sounds like nobody else's though . He sounds like his throat is stuck.the His diction is close to none at all but at the same time he performs and gets everybody to listen and enjoy. It takes a showman to catch the people's attention with such a struggling voice. I wish I had louis opinion about his voice. Dean Martin, Franck Sinatra and Bing Crosby had fantastic voices .
@@christophedallaporta8836 Fantastic doesn't necessarily imply technical ability or even what one might typically call smooth or 'pleasing'.

One of the summer shows I remember was Louis Armstrong performing on the Bob Lo Boat (paddle boat) up and down the Detroit River moonlight paddle. The performance was fantastic, everybody was singing and dancing just plain old having a terrific time. My parents loved Louis Armstrong. I have movie pictures of my mom and dad dancing there hearts out to Louis Armstrong's songs. What wonderful memories.
