Genuinely beautiful yet so familiar, melancholy and sad. Perfect representation of their relationship and how it will inevitably end
I’d say it’s one of the best romance themes of all time.
“I will remain” is my favorite song. A gladiator “now we are free” throwback feeling.
YES, this was the first thing that came in my mind. I started loving Hans Zimmer from the Gladiator OST and especially Now We are free. I used to listen to this song when I was having an exam at the university, like sort of a meditation before it haha :)

The second half of “Only I will Remain” screams what’s upcoming. I think it will be the main theme for Part 3.

Not only your opinion my man. No offense, but he is already. Everytime I search how many scores this guy's done and then I see all of the AMAZIN soundtracks he's provided. He is an absolute genius.

@@JesseTate Yes! THIS! The 1st half (Prelude) DEF has a very Dune-esque sound and showcases our man Pedro fantastically! Nostalgia is fine, I guess... just sounds like songs that didn't need to be stapled together (IMO)

The theme is beautiful, the last 3 tracks are remarkable & the sound design overall is unmatched.
Beautiful. However nothing compared to a legendary love theme. Einaudi or Vangelis. This is very nice but also very predictable. Issues with mechanised modern music.
"Kiss The Ring" is something that will resonate in my soul forever. It means infinite different things. I cannot find words to describe that track. And Tina Guo is still a goddess.

Just saw the movie, left the theater absolutely speechless with how unbelievably epic the sound track was. There’s is nothing like it and I believe this will go down as some of the best music productions of all time.
I really enjoyed that we have a more clear and emotional motif in this second part. Hans did it again.
As an Armenian I am so happy he uses duduk on this one! That instrument fits not every movie, but this time 🤯
The ‘Travel South’ track is mindblowingly amazing! You can literally feel the music inside of you on the theater’s speakers. Everybody should watch this masterpiece in the cinema not just for the sounds but for the cinematography as well.

I just love how lately film scores and composers are getting the same highlights as directors themselves. Music really elevates a movie I can't imagine Dune without this menacing, disturbing and yet beautiful score!
It was an amazing soundtrack. I have a Playlist of nothing but Hans dune soundtracks.

I really hope that we'll get a Sketchbook and Art & Soul soundtracks for part 2 this year.
If not, I'll be very disappointed. Loved all 3 soundtracks for the first film and each one is unique. While I'd say the Sketchbook for my favorite of the 3 but I've been listening to the Art & Soul of Dune alot more lately and its kind of sad that its not getting as much attention as the others. I loved that they took the songs from Sketchbook but turned them into slower, reveb ambient versions, giving them a hauntingly beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. At times, they're also quite intense, ominous and creepy. They're the type of songs to listen to while reading a book or going for a hike or even for sleeping.
Hans zimmer is the genius and Denis Villeneuve knows how to squeeze all its potential, together they have created an unforgettable soundtrack 🙌🙌

Anyone claiming that classical symphonists are better then Zimmer are insane. His range is on another level.
I enjoyed the opening music a lot.
The aleatoric vocal samples, grains of sand, and deep deep sub bass.
He must be composing with some serious speakers to write parts that low haha. The over compression and transient shaping was a little tiring, but i was relieved that there was always a dynamic section following a brickwall section
I believe he will win an Oscar for the score to each of the three films. He already has one of them.
I love the trailer music that is based on Chani's tune. I wish the trailer song would be officially released along with the other songs on the soundtrack.
That is perfectly executed Musical language. I didn’t know the main theme for this second part was Chani’s and Paul’s love theme (I haven’t seen the movie yet but I already listen the OST) and I feel like it was perfect for a Sci-Fi Love theme. Definitely my favourite part of the OST.

Kiss the Ring is awesome... Paul won, but it cost him everything and he unleashed the Jihad on the galaxy.
Chani's theme surpised me, I believed it's the atreides theme's much softer and "Arrakesque" version as Paul got used to the planet's environment.

I think Hans Zimmer's scores for Dune parts 1 & 2 were quite underwhelming. In part 1 he did about three melodies total and then mixed them up and in part 2 he only made 1 new melody (quite odd considering he claims to care so much about the story). I like some of the themes, especially the one from part 2 and they complement the films nicely but the constant repetition without development feels lackluster overall. You just have to go to the full OST to see that it's about 10 minutes of original theme and the other 40 minutes is just drone and repetition. It complements the scenes but it doesn't add to the story as traditional composition styles with motifs and development etc., even the original 1984 score has moments which feel more musically powerful than anything from Hans Zimmer's Dune scores imo.
So much work and he still can’t top the soundtracks he did for the dark knight and pirates of the caribbean. When Zimmer stopped doing leitmotifs his music sadly became less interesting.

Hans is actually a brilliant speaker & lateral thinker. Listen to his long form interviews. Yes he goes on lots of tangents but you can always guarantee he’ll provide new ideas & perspectives.
