this part of the game was what made me realize Omori wasnt gonna be like anything I’ve ever seen in an RPG story. You REALLY feel the weight with everything happening in this fight, the music especially. Everything just felt. real. Like genuine people with real emotions. You feel for aubrey, and you feel bad that its come to this point of battle. Amazing cover!! Your chiptunes are seriously some of the best!!
Man the fact that the people in church made fun of Aubrey's hair is just CRUEL Spolier: Aubrey dyed her hair btw because Mari asked Aubrey if she wanted to dye her hair with Mari
I did not expect you to cover this song due to how chaotic and noisy it is. Yet, i am glad you did it since this is one of my favorite soundtracks from OMORI. Even under such uncomfortable limtations for such song you managed it really well. Good job!
to me,, after listening to it for a while it doesnt sound like 8bit anymore it was the same on the original tho, after listening to it for a while it stopped sounding like a music but just weird horrow sounds.. its nice to get the same vibes from it
I feel like that’s what this soundtrack’s actually trying to convey. (SPOILER WARNING!) At first, Aubrey was angry at her friends for not being there for her when she needed them. But slowly it began escalating into much more violent outbursts; Aubrey began bullying Basil because she thought his reactions to Mari’s death was unnatural (in fact, he was struggling as much as everyone else). Eventually, what was once anger stemming from misunderstanding and lack of support grew into an unintelligible rage that was only there for the sake of letting out Aubrey’s feelings. You said it yourself: this soundtrack stops sounding like actual music after a while of listening; after a while, Aubrey’s anger caused her to become almost unrecognisable after no more that four years.
Ouch, that hurts. It Means Everything is a song I identify to a lot when it comes to certain things. You did a great job keeping the chaotic feel of the track !
I'd love to hear "You Cannot Go Back" or "Teehee Time" in this style, or even "OMORI". Great cover as always! I'm impressed with how you managed to pull this off!
Ok Final Duet didn’t make me cry, but this made me tear up. The whole fight hit me really hard. With all the dialogue from the church goers, Kel being angry with Aubrey and Sunny remaining completely neutral. It really puts into perspective how much of an effect Sunny locking himself for 4 years away had. It must have been horrible for Aubrey, not only losing Mari (who’s I like to assume acts as Aubreys big sister/role model) in an awful way, but being abandoned by the rest of the group. Aubrey quickly became my favourite character when I first started to play the game, and this fight made me feel so sorry for her, to see such a bubbly young girl turn to violence to cope. Sorry if it’s a bit of a long read.
Also, did you know, Aubrey dyed her hair pink because Mari said “We can dye our hair together!”. But since Mari died long before, Aubrey decided to dye her hair pink as a small way to remember that rainy day.
@@sillysillyX3 I did know, but thanks for sharing more Aubrey info. I was actually thinking today about Aubrey and how she uses her Bat. Because as we know, Mari used to play softball, until she hurt her knee and stopped playing. Maybe Aubrey also played Softball to try and connect with Mari more. Just a theory, but it adds to the sadness of the game when you think about it, and it really shows the kind of impact Mari had on Aubrey. How Aubrey always carry’s around her Bat as a sign of Maris protection, as it is used to keep her safe, something that Mari also did. Just a dumb theory, but cool regardless.
The church part really weirded me out, I’ve grown up in churches my whole life so when that fight broke out I felt secondhand embarrassment for everyone
The animation being on sync is amazing! I’ll admit, in the first part, I felt like she was the embodiment of angry heavy breathing, because the beats sounded like she had lungs of steel or some shit like that. And that perfectly fits for some unknown reason She’s probably awfully reminded of the church fight with Kel and sunny because of the red rectangle, red rectangle fight time! (The church fight background was kinda tinted redd-ish, so makes sense)
I always get a little emotional when listening to this song. But when it's turned 8-bit it gives me this slight feeling of nostalgia and adds to the intense factor. Thank you so much for this cover.
Hoooooly goodness, the fact that you're able to add so much intricate detail to all of these super crazy songs is insane to me! You do so much with the 8-bit style, and I will continue to beg you to make more of these
I was hoping you'd do a remix of this song! It's one of my favorite boss battle themes from Omori, and it really hits home for Aubrey's story and character. Amazing job as always!
@@alexiaatheducc she shoulda been too 💀 she’s literally carrying around a weapon even more dangerous than a knife, accidentally hit someone and they’ll be on their way to the hospital

Oh my god, I was just drawing Aubrey and you uploaded this! This is absolutely amazing! Keep it up! Emotional as always.... Also cool that you did this right before Aubrey’s birthday tomorrow, woo!
this is great, i feel like you did a really solid job with adapting the song and it has nearly the same vibe i think my favorite part might be all of the weird noises, it manages to convey the same weird dissonance that the original song has. which is really cool, because i feel like in a weird way, that dissonance is a big part of what makes the song feel as emotionally charged as it is, so it preserves the feel of the original song pretty well. also the animation is really good, idk how to put it, but you really convey the emotion aubrey's feeling with the way her shoulders rise and fall
Honestly surprised at how well these synths can mimic a guitar! The best part is how perfectly the effects and blips were mixed in with everything, really subtle but entirely noticeable and helps build the atmosphere of the song. Makes me think of Anxiety from Celeste!
