This is so awesome! Love to see smaller companies that are throwing their passion into their work getting some profile. And what a surprise and honour to see me and Whitetail featured on legendary Concrete Waves!!! Thank you for making my day!
Absolutely tons of value added from this video, loved it. I used to run a small garage type bespoke furniture making business and I love to support small workshops when I buy skate gear. Please make another of these. Over here in Europe Soulboardy are well worth checking out for surfskates and Fluide longskate make a beatifully crafted range of all kinds of longboards.
So stoked to hear this! Thanks for sharing Soulboardiy & fluide longskate. I have a soulboardiy and love it but havent' heard of fluide. I think I will make more of these vids that are more specific to each skate style
I have the "Viberide Brake Set" and it's attached to a Landyachtz Drop Hammer. I totally agree with you about the marketing of this company. Their boards and the brake set, which can be purchased separately, are made for beginners who never stepped on a Longboard before but would love to give it a try. They are definitely not made for professional downhill riders. They know how to stop and don't need a brake. Freeriders don't need it either nor do longboard dancers or LDP enthusiasts. People like me in the older range of longboard lovers can take advantage of it, although you could pretty much get the same effect with learning the foot brake but personally I'm only using this technique at lower speed. I took my Landyachtz on vacation with me, a couple of weeks ago and on my daily way to the beach the road is sometimes getting a bit too steep and fast for me. All the times before I had the brake on my board I often stepped off it and walked instead but this time I wasn't afraid to go all the way on my longboard. Hitting the brake pedal doesn't make you stop immediately but it helps to slow down and control the speed. The only issue I have with the brake set is the rattling noise they make. Viberide promised me to find a solution for it. Take a look at these two short videos on my channel if you like ua-cam.com/video/IKDngC4H31M/v-deo.html and here ua-cam.com/users/shortsdomxbFMH6LA
Your content helped me choose my first surfskate and also get back to something that I loved as a child but happened to forget in the daily life’s rush. Keep what you are doing up, it is awesome!
I like this chatting kinda thing. I get the info I need and it feels cozy and it seems like it doesn't add unnecessary production value that doesn't make the video more useful but makes it more difficult to produce.
Good to know! I definitely want to experiment with more free flowing vids. The struggle is that I always want to make sure I'm getting to the point and not wasting anyones time. And i feel like when I just show up without anything written down, it can get verbose
anyone know anything about Black longboards out of Arizona? I am really interested in their Samurai longboard. Looks to me like a 'freeride/ cruiser' long board combo. As an older 'newbie' (yet very familiar with snowboarding) I am really enjoying your channel.
@@concrete-waves Yes was watching first thing yesterday morning drinking coffee and almost spit it out hearing pats risers LOL. Youre doing great stuff here and on insta. Again thanks for the support
So sick🤙 I've heard of a few of these brands but always stoked to add more to the list, but alas shipping to Aus always costs more than whatever I'm buying 🙃
@@concrete-waves totally, was considering to order some riser pads and bushings from a local US company, was about like 68 bucks, shipping was somehow 48 😂😂
What a wonderful surprise to be alongside these amazing brands; it truly is an honor. Thank you, Billy! I love the format of your video-it’s both instructive and captivating to watch. Thanks for highlighting passionate builders, brands, and skaters like Mark, who often go unnoticed despite their significant contributions to the community. I’m already looking forward to your next video, your content feels sincere and refreshing. Thank you
Woke up and thought of two other companies that are worth consideration. Koastal longboards and Zenit longboards. I don’t know if it exists anywhere but it would be so helpful if there was a list somewhere of all longboard / Surfskate makers both big and small.
Great video topic and super interesting ! Ive been riding Sophie's WhaleShark (whitetail) board for over a year now, and im still absolutely in love with it ! 😍
Maybe doing a first person POV format with a GoPro or something, (sort of like these videos that you see of people surfing, but, with a surfskate ! :) )
Love your videos by the way ! It's always nice to watch !!! The editing is on point, each time, your opinion is on point too, more or less each time !...You dress well, the background looks awesome with every video...i could keep going for minutes but to be quite frank : this channel is awesome ! ❤
Share the info in the way that works best for you. A lot of times I don't make videos because of the final edit, or the setup or whatever. I allow the editing process or production to get in the way of what I am hoping to share. So if it is comfortable for you send it.
Yeah I like this format. Wasn't aware of a handful of the companies mentioned. That Flush Collection- I didn't know they were going public soon. Super excited. I been following them for a while, just salivating over their decks. I usually don't like ordering skate stuff online, but I might have to break tradition for them.
IMO the viberide is just too big of a money commitment to be a good beginner option. For the same money I could make a downhill setup better than the one I currently ride. It's a lot of money to dump into something you're not sure you'll enjoy.

Such a well made video! Love lander! Looking at getting the rio with the 85mm wheels like your board!
Cool! Thanks for the kind words :) Lander is sick

Awesome input Andreas, thanks for taking the time to share. Hopefully they'll get that rattling noise figured out soon 🙏 Nice vids by the way

Ahaha that's wild. A cheap solution is to find some local 3D printer and send them CAD files you find online @@icantsee0

Hey Billy! It's worth to mention abianskateboards because they produce awesome boards and share the idea of sustainability and surfing aesthetic.
Ahhh great call thank you! I think I will make a more specific one for surfskates and include them 😎🙏
I remember my first speed wobble. It really gets your heart racing😂😂
